on the PSP version, they thought golbez was dead until they see golbez hand trying to get the crystal but cecil wont stop him lmao, he just let golbez grab the crystal
In short, that’s because he’s supposed to be DEAD. Imagine you hit someone with five different varieties of high grade explosive, and see their body drop to the ground. So yeah, they’re dead. Uuuuuntil their still smoking body slowly forces itself up to finish what it came there for.
FFIV is one of my favorite RPG games I’ve ever played. I’ll never forget this moment…out of nowhere Rydia returning as an adult to unleash havoc to save her companions. It overwhelmed me how thrilled and excited I was…truly epic!
@@kossur10 exactly. this is why i like the good old days of gaming. no updates, no downloads, no changing. when someone wants an enhancement to a game for nostalgia it should remain the same. you think if they made a remake of Final Fantasy 1 but completely changed it to where its not Final Fantasy 1 anymore because people complain its too easy, they should be playing a different game then
In the SNES version, there’s a glitch that can be skipped the Sealed Cave. Cast Warp after Golbez steals the Crystal, there’s a Crystal in the chamber. Then, you obtain it, you can skip the Sealed Cave. However, this glitch doesn’t work on remake version.
i don't know if it's just me, but i felt like the snes version of the golbez battle was way easier. i can basically confirm it because i just fought golbez in the snes version like 2 days ago
All other versions of this battle are pretty easy, it's just to re-introduce you to Rydia and her new summoning. This version is just much harder due to it actually being a fight.
I have no clue what happened, after failing more than ten Times i won after two Summons (i did not saw how much damage they did). A few Suggestions: - I leveled up Cecil to Level 38, to have more than 2000 Life - Use a Item with Haste - Go to the Dwarf Shop and buy the Item that can analyze, can be Handy if you are out of Mana or if Cecil is healing. I played on the DS, as someone else in the Comments, i have the Feeling that Shell did not help. But you can cast it on Cecil with Rosa before the Fight begins. This Fight is absolutly BS.
It took about an hour to beat this guy but I beat him first try I kept healing him and then just kept attacking with jump and focus and healing when necessary
I remember on the DS my Rydia rejoined the party at Level 99 for some reason, so she ended up carrying the entire party for most of the end game content lmao
Bruh its so ez in the PSP version, i attacked golbez with yang and jump with kain and rydia use gaia wrath summon, and golbez died I just played the 3d remake yesterday and i have to fight golbez after defeating calcabrina, and OH GOSH THAT FIGHT WAS SO DAMN HARD I remembered i had to use 10 phoenix down to revive everybody to win, but i still lose. So i decided to use only cecil and rydia and i won :D
Well, it's not always the same order. I used Libra, then immediately checked his weakness and used Ifrit since Fire was his weakness. You always use Libra before you attack.
@@wizegamer But it did. When it was Rydia's turn, Hawelo chose Attack to look at the target before going back into their Summon menu. Libra actually makes it so that weaknesses, immunities and absorbs are displayed when "looking" at a target thru a command. That's how they knew the weaknesses.
Wait, so ALL this time I've been playing on some so called "hard" mode? I always play on active if it let's me, never knew. 😂 Don't get me wrong, I hate fighting Golbez here, but after a few playthroughs, augments make the game easy.
I focused only on Rydia and Cecil. If you spend turns reviving everyone while Golbez hits you, it becomes a lot harder. But managing only two characters makes it much more simple.
Hawelo92 oh ok ill try that right now. The only reason i watched this is because it was the first thing that popped up when i typed "ff4 boss golbez" and because your videos really help me with bosses especially on ff9
Oh! Thank you very much. The 3D version of FFIV is very difficult, I couldn't beat it at all for, like, my first three playthroughs because there'd be that one boss that blocked my progress. First it was the Dark Elf, I think. Then it was Dr. Lugae and I forget the next one. I think simply random encounters later in the game because my party was so weak.

That Rydia moment tho. Goosebumps every time
7:43 It's funny how they just walk away leaving Golbez near the crystal that they are supposed to protect.
When I played it as a kid, I thought the same thing LOL. They didn't even bother to "capture" Golbez, just.. "Our job is over here :D"
@@darkfinal9964 They thought he was dead. So they dropped their guard.

The original localized SNES version of this game is VERY easy.
I kinda figured that after playing some more of it today, but it still took me 5 years to beat it originally!

I tried using this as a tutorial for beating him on ds but for some reason when i use shell it doesn't decrease the damage at all
Hello Person in the Past, you are right, Shell did nothing.
The def modifier is like
5 so yeah it barely does anything but I need every help that I can get here thanks
Taking this in original SNES. Really not that bad of a thang. Especially once Rydia jumps in. She feels like a total fucking badass.
*Cecil* "Alright gang! We got Rydia back! Let's go!" *Also Cecil* "Oh yeah, Golbez"*
I wouldve brought rosa back in the beginning so cecil and rydia are attack and rosa is healing

I have never gone from loving to despising a game so fast. This boss fight is so shit that it's impressive.
It doesn't even give you a chance to heal
HOW DID THAT FIRST HELLFIRE WORK?! GOLBEZ HAD A BARRIER SHIFT ON I JUST TRIED IT AND I HEALED HIM AND I LOST AGAIN
Well, it's not always the same order. I used Libra, then immediately checked his weakness and used Ifrit since Fire was his weakness. You always use Libra before you attack.
it didn't show the weakness in the video .. all i saw was analyzing , I thought I seen fire once but I thought that was spell he used .

For some reason golbez absorbs all my attacks and heals him instead of doing damage I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
needs to be something he's weak to, hence why the libra spam to check his weakness
So Libra, then Summon? I see his weakness changes, but idk exactly WHEN to scan him. 🤔
When you hit his weakness he uses Barrier Shift to change it. That's when you scan him again before Rydia's next attack.
Try using libra after golbez use his Barrier Shift, because if he do that he will change his weakness
I'm back :))

This game does have a Normal/Hard mode besides Active/Wait. But Hard is just the original DS version's difficulty if I recall.
Even on easy this fight is not beatable
What lvl were u in here
I can't remember, but don't be afraid to grind if you feel like you need more health.
I have more level and i cant xd
