I to admire my teacher but make sure taqlid is not practiced. Once Ibn Al Qayyum said: Yes Our Shaykh is beloved to us ( Ibn Taymiyya) but Haqq is more beloved to us than the Shaykh. May ALLAH have mercy on all Great Ulema and accept from them and make us amongst them. Ameen

    Episode 25 & Episode 26 Notes:
    The Covenant of Women
In the 11th Year of the Dawah, the six converts from Medina, brought six new converts to meet the Prophet SAW during the pagan Hajj season. There were ten people from the Banu Khazraj and two from the Banu Aws. This was the first formal conversion and the largest conversion outside of Makkah. All twelve converts agreed to live morally upright lives and that’s why this agreement is known as the Covenant of Women since, this is exactly what the Prophet SAW would ask of female converts after they accepted Islam. The converts asked the Prophet SAW to have someone teach them about Islam. So thus the Prophet SAW sent Musab Ibn Umair RA back with the converts to Medina. Within a few weeks of Musab RA being sent back, forty people had converted to Islam in Medina. Thus, the Prophet SAW told Musab to lead the first ever Jummah Salaah in Islamic History which consisted of forty people.
A short while later, both the Banu Aws and Banu Khazraj tribes contained many people who had embraced Islam. But, it was the conversions of Usaid Ibn Hudair RA and Sa’d Ibn Mu’adh RA that, led to a mass conversion of an entire subtribe to Islam which, in turn spread the message of Islam, further amongst the people of Medina.
    The Covenant of War Protection
The Muslims in Medina came together and decided that, the persecution of the Prophet SAW had to end. They realised that the best way to do this, would be if the Prophet SAW migrated to Medina in order to live with them. So, Musab RA returned during the Hajj period in the 12th Year of the Dawah and with him, he brought 75 Muslims. The Medina Muslims met the Prophet SAW, who came with his uncle Al Abbas, on the last night of the Hajj to make a covenant. The Prophet SAW stated that he would agree to this plan, if they offered him defensive protection and treated him like family. In return the Prophet SAW offered them Jannah and the Prophet SAW told them that, he would remain in Medina, even after Quraysh were defeated. The Medina Muslims accepted these terms and thus the covenant of war protection was made.
After this covenant, the Prophet SAW gave the Muslims permission to migrate. Thus they begun migrating to Medina quietly. They did so by going one-two people at a time. Abu Salamah was the first one to migrate.
Fun Trivia fact: Musab ibn Umair was the first Makkan Muslim to migrate to Medina. He also was the first Muslim to ever lead Jummah Salaah since, in Makkah the Muslims could not congregate in public without severe persecution. One opinion of Hanbali Fiqh is that, you need exactly forty people for Jummah to happen. This opinion is based on the first ever Jummah performed by Musab RA.
Fun Trivia fact: Usaid Ibn Hudair RA is the one for whom, the angels would descend whenever, he recited the Qur’an.
Fun Trivia fact: What opened up Sa’d Ibn Mu’adh’s RA heart to Islam, was Musab RA reciting Surah Zukhruf.
Fun Trivia fact: Amr bin Thabit Uhayrim RA, is the name of the Sahabi who obtained Jannah, without ever praying a single Rakaah of Salaah to Allah SWT.
Fun Trivia fact: The Sabaeans mentioned in the Qur’an may be the followers of the modern day religion called Mandaeism.
Fun Trivia fact: In one year of dawah, Musab RA at minimum converted 250-300 people to Islam, which meant that Medina’s Muslim population rivalled Makkah’s Muslim population, after just one year of dawah.
Fun Trivia fact: Al Ansar means the helpers.
Fun Trivia fact: Allah SWT preferred the Muhajirun over the Ansar. But, the Prophet SAW greatly praised the Ansar in many hadiths.
Fun Trivia fact: Abu Salamah and Umm Salamah made two Hijrah’s for the sake of Allah SWT. The first was from Makkah to Abyssinia and the second from Makkah to Medina.
Fun Trivia fact: Uthman Ibn Talha RA was given the keys to the Kabah, after the Conquest of Makkah because he walked Umm Salamah RA and her child from Makkah to Medina. He did this before he was a Muslim. The keys have remained amongst his descendants for the past 1400 years.
Fun Trivia fact: The Jews follow the Psalms of David and it’s in their Torah. But, Muslims believe it has been corrupted much like the Torah and Injeel.
Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet Dawud AS revelation was very recitation focused.
Fun Trivia fact: Abu Bakr RA’s last daughter was born 8 months after his death because, Abu Bakr RA knew that his wife was pregnant, before she was even aware or showing the signs, this was due to his intuition. Thus, on his death bed, he told Aisha RA to look after, her unborn sister.
THIS ENDS THE MAKKAN ERA OF THE SEERAH. IT LASTED 13 YEARS. THE PROPHET SAW WAS 53 AT THIS POINT

Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series:
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

The lecture discusses a pivotal moment in the early history of Islam, focusing on the participation of a group from Yathrib (later Medina) in the pilgrimage to Mecca and their interactions with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) around the 11th year of his prophethood, prior to the Hijra.
    1. Initial Encounters:
    • The Prophet Muhammad encountered a small group from Yathrib during his visits and invited them to consider Islam.
    • This group expressed interest, leading to a follow-up the next year, where they returned with 12 converts-an unprecedented number from outside Mecca.
    2. Significance of Yathrib:
    • Yathrib was not yet known as Medina and was home to tribes that had previously been hostile to one another.
    • The new message of Islam began uniting these tribes, establishing common bonds and a sense of community that had been absent.
    3. First Covenant:
    • The meeting in Mina resulted in the first formal conversion when the Prophet took an oath of allegiance from the converts.
    • This oath emphasized moral conduct, worshiping one God, and adhering to basic Islamic tenets.
    4. Rapid Spread of Islam:
    • Musab ibn Umair was sent to Yathrib to teach the Quran and establish prayer, leading to a significant increase in converts-reportedly up to 40 in a matter of weeks.
    • The first Friday prayer in Islam was conducted in Yathrib, marking a significant milestone for the growing Muslim community.
    5. Growth in Numbers:
    • A year later, around 75 Muslims returned for Hajj, signaling a rapid increase in the number of converts from Yathrib.
    • The people of Yathrib were drawn to Islam due to their experiences from civil strife and a desire for a new moral framework.
    6. Second Pledge of Aqabah:
    • The community decided to invite the Prophet to Yathrib, promising to protect him and allowing him to live among them.
    • The Prophet detailed conditions for his protection and allegiance, emphasizing loyalty and support amidst potential conflict with the Quraysh.
    7. Outcome:
    • The pledges made during this gathering laid the groundwork for the Prophet’s eventual migration to Medina, where he would gain a substantial following and a safe haven from persecution in Mecca.
This video encapsulates the early stages of the Islamic community in Medina, highlighting the significance of collective belief and the transformative power of the Islamic message in unifying disparate tribes under a common cause.
