Trust me, ive been playing for over 12 years, you wont know youre guitar isn't perfect until a luthier or someone tells you and it wont matter anyway since its fine in your eyes. As long as the fret ends dont hurt and the action isnt really high youll be ok. My second favorite guitar has uneven frets and the action isnt perfect but i can't tell

I believe the term is "owned a guitar" not played, i'm sorry but if you can't tell after 12 years of playing, then you haven't been playing
Bad advice. Just bring it to a luthier and have him set the action. All my instruments go to the luthier in the week after I get them, even if they seem okay. If after 12 years you took away to not maintain your instruments, you wasted many years. Stop giving people bad advice
@@ericdpeerik3928 for a cheap instrument under $400 I don't think adding $100 for a setup is really necessary right away for a beginner. If people can learn metal on an acoustic people can deal with decent intonation and unperfected action.
@@ericdpeerik3928 for those that for sure are sticking with that guitar for a bit, a setup is good because the lutheir can inform him of defects or things that would be detrimental like botched SS frets or a bad truss rod
Looking for reviews for the S by Solar. Congrats on being one of the first in the world! If I were you, I would ride this train as these will become a global curiosity. You have solid editing skills and a good, straightforward communication style. If I were you, I would spend the next 24-48 hours researching how to set up and review a guitar. Phil McKnight does a fantastic job and could be used as a good model. After that, you could do another deep dive into the guitar before they start hitting the mainstream channels. Best of success!
Solid video. I'm not in the market for a budget guitar all but I have been curious about Solars new entry level line & the video was recommended to me!! Heard everything I could want to about them! Enjoy it mate!
hey, about the buzzing that you talked about, if the buzzing doesnt transmit into your amplifier, then dont worry about it Every electric guitar has buzzing, but only when it sounds in the final audio, then thats an issue, when I started playing i was crazy with it, but then I saw a video of a technician playing an electric guitar not connected and the buzzing was there, so dont go crazy about it. great review.
Looks like S by Solar is on par with the quality of Ibanez GIO-series, if you go by hard tail super strats. If someone would have stopped me on the street and asked me what sort of guitar for a beginner, I'd probably tell them to get either GIO or S by Solar, and make it hardtail.
Great review. I bought the same, but in Carbon Black Matte. I live in the US, so it may take a while to arrive. I am also considering starting a YT channel. Congrats on your first guitar. I am sure it will bring you much joy!
Cool guitar! I'm always glad when a company has a good quality beginner guitar. It can really encourage or discourage a new guitarist. If a guitar is built correctly and plays well, a new person will want to learn more. On the flip-side, it can make them frustrated or upset they may not want to continue.
Good review man, been looking for info about these. Btw if your strings are buzzing it might be worth changing the action by raising the saddles, you can get a height measuring tool and adjustment tool online and watch a tutorial on how to do it. Could be worth a try before taking it to a tech.
Hi Dilettante (you play way better than a beginner hehe), great video! How do these S by Solar news guitars actually compare to other entry-level guitars by bigger brands? Are they like Jackson JS series, Ibanez GIO series and so on? Thanks
Hi, unfortunately I don't have anything to compare with as this is my first guitar. For me everything's alright. Only during winter because of the dry air in the flat the wood dried a bit and the frets started to scratch the hand a bit. Needs a bit filing, but nothing too serious.
Great video Man. I'm from Brazil and I have one of these (The 7 string black one) since it started selling, like March or Whatever. The only thing i didn't like it was the "Box" around the pickups... I would like to see a direct sound comparison between a "normal" solar and the S line from someone. I hope that now, we have more videos about these guitars and a direct comparison soon. I would like to see a les paul version of s by solar as well, i hope that they create one someday.
Good move on not getting a tremolo system. Floyd rose bridges took a significant part of my time playing when I started out and it's really not worth it when you are a begginer.
It's my first guitar, can't compare it with other guitars, but I think they are good. They don't stick or scratch your hands. Didn't sand them or anything like that.
To alleviate the striing buzz you could try raising the action at the saddle. Use an allen key on the little grub screws to raise the height sligtly (you might want to detune slightly as this will increase string tension too.) Make small adjustments and test out
good choice, i hope you'll like it on the long run ! You should try working on your rythm btw. It may not seems crucial at first but will get in your way later if you neglected it.
If you couldn't fix the string buzzing by adjusting the bridge or truss rod, it could be the nut being too low. This would be best left to a technician to fix.
Thanks. Since then I've polished the frets and I think it got better. Also I'm not recognizing it as hard as I was in the beginning and I also don't hear it in my recordings. Also some more experienced guitarists told me that some amount of fret buzz is completely ok. So I think it's good overall.
If you're buzzing at the third fret raise the action or straighten the neck. Don't fret over your first girl she won't be perfect they never are mine was a GLOBAL 1976 action was a mile high.first song?'Lazy' Deep Purple.spend US $300 and get a Marshall code 50.Ive got one.Keep it up nephew!!!
What planet is @Durkhead on?! That’s completely false. A fixed bridge is always the best option for a beginner, and even for most intermediate players - it makes tuning and maintaining a problem and hassle that detracts from learning and practicing time. Why add unnecessary frustration? Most low and mid budget guitars won’t have a good quality trem, and even if they are a good quality, nobody is doing dive bombs until at least several years into the playing phase unless you’re like some musical virtuoso. I noticed most of the S by Solar don’t have a trem. I think only one of the higher priced models has one. That should tell you that you’re wrong, lol.
You can't pick up a fixed bridge guitar by the strings and still be able to play it or leave it sit for a month and it still be in tune like an evertune tremolo system

Nice! I'd also love to get my hands on the 7 string one day :)
I'll sell my Yamaha rgx-121z guitar and buy this very model (but black), I'm from Brazil too.
Como está sua opiniao sobre a guitarra hoje? Continua gostando dela como quando comprou? Abçs!
your first guitar will be one for the books man lol. i wish that was my first guitar. anyone else here have a Squire Bullet as their first guitar?

Floyd Rose is not a beginner thing 😂 you made life hard on yourself. Well done on surviving that!
My licensed floyd wouldn't stay in tune so I saved some money and after a few years I got a Gottoh Ge1996T. Works like a charm. @@ericdpeerik3928

Good move shying away from a trem, they rob so much time on setup and tuning and must be world class to give any enjoyment. FWIW
good choice, i hope you'll like it on the long run !

Buy a right angle guitar cord so when you sitting playing it will be more comfortable

How much did it cost?
In Russia they started selling them early, I got it since May and it was around 200 USD back then over here.

Tremolo systems usually stay in tune better than fixed bridges

Untrue until you get to the very, very high end
