    S48 LOSERS’ TABLE
Thanks to their late flurry of correct responses, King's have a more comfortable hold on the last loser's spot, although one more bonus could have put them in a three-way tie with Exeter and Hertford - Oxford. The 110 points of Queen's - Belfast predictably did not hold up, as they are now officially eliminated. I am not aware of the tie-breaking protocol on UC, so I can't say for sure which of Exeter and Hertford - Oxford is now guaranteed a spot in the next round.
    175 Emmanuel - Cambridge

You're a "barbarian," maryan c; many educated Brits will pronounce the "j" as "jay," not as the Spanish would pronounce the "j" ("hota"). The French, likewise, pronounce it as it is written as if it were French; hence, "Don Z-uan." "Ca ce pronounce comme ca, c'est ecrit." (Apologies; I can't add accent marks.)

I'd say philosophy was my specialist subject, so I like it when they are really hard. These answers... Hobbes, Kant and Aristotle, at least one of them should have been tricky. For example, which philosopher was born in Aberdeenshire in 1710, and a member of the Scottish School of Common Sense, perhaps best known for his critique of Locke's theory of personal identity?

Disclaimer: Pretty hungover when writing this ... :/
A decent match with evenly matched teams.
UCL 10 starters, Walker 5 (the Americans are killing it this season :), Mitkov 4 (+1 penalty), Johnstone 1, Hopefully Fang improves his buzzer skills for R2 as he should have got some of the Science starters that Tsang got, both being their teams' Science reps. Bonus conversion rate 57%, full houses on 'blobitecture' and 'pregnancy', much to Heath's chagrin, I think ;P
King's-L 8 starters, Tsang 5 (4 science refs), Chater 2, Jones 1. Bcr on par with UCL at 59%. Full houses on 'Rock bands', 'Lit' & 'Lanthanide elements'.
Hopefully #13 & #14 pick up the pace! Last season, I found my fave team and contestant in #14, when Merton's Wiberg almost single-handedly crushed King's-L 285:110.

Selection criteria includes not just smarts, but 'diversity' as well, as Fang and Tsang's (who got 4 science starters to his credit), prescence indicate, yet they don't mention where they are from 'originally', as overseas students usually do?

Yep! Had a chat with Tsang on Twitter coz I thought he maybe from Hong Kong, but he's from China. I'm sure both teams chose them to comply with the 'diversity' requirement, so it should be stated honestly, as other contestants have done. Neither contestant impressed so I'm guessing that's why they were chosen.
