The fight for equal pay should be fought by getting more people to watch women's tennis, it's really that simple.
It’s the same with WNBA. You can’t demand equal pay if you don’t bring in equal revenue. It’s as simple as that. The women also play best of 3 when men play best of 5 for slams. They play half as long, so technically get paid twice as much based on hours worked.
@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten I refuse to watch women who scream like wild banshees while hitting the ball.
That’s actually not the issue. The issue is no one wants to sponsor wta tournaments because they women players never want to fulfill the sponsorship obligations to the title sponsor. So they struggle with sponsorship which is actually a bigger problem than selling tickets. They don’t understand sponsors aren’t just giving them free money, and they are more concerned with their individual sponsors
@@tjg801regarding the wnba and reduced schedule, wnba players should make the same amount per game as their male counterparts fr
Nobody really gives a damn about female tennis.
I don't comment often at all but wanted to give some positive feedback: This is definitely the best format you've done so far and it reminds me of why I like similar channels like Jxmyhighroller for sports. A focus on the sports with a good mix of the players lives and nothing dragged on longer than it should be. I also think the videos capture my attention more when I have more seconds to see the clips of each player vs you in the forefront. Nothing personal you do an amazing job and you're clearly being enthusiastic- but more time viewing the players will always capture my attention higher. Even just seeing their ending game handshake can be very interesting.
Keep up the good work! This is definitely a quality channel now and summarizes what would take me weeks to do on my own with reddit/the news. You're making a big impact on our ability to keep up with tennis while still keeping our personal lives going. Otherwise, tennis would maybe have to give.
Glad you are liking it! And noted for your feedback 👌
Alcarez comments are aging pretty bad….he just lost on clay to a player outside the top 20.
Great work as always. I am new to the channel. I love the recaps, but wouldn't it be better if the videos came out on Monday so that you could cover the latest finals from Sunday in your video ?
We'll look into doing this!
Very much agreed, it would make your content complete. Videos are already amazing though!
I love these week recap videos. Really helps stay up to date on everything since in my own time I only really have the chance to watch a few of my favorite atp players and cant pay attention to much else. Thank you :)
These weekly summaries are great!
This is great content. Love the help keeping track of the tour
I hate when high paid tennis players complain about their life and how they want it to be easier. What I would do to get a life as Bublik has. And a lot of people too. There are people that don't have enough money to feed their families. Theres people that work hard every day in a boring job, just to have a roof over their head. And someone who plays tennis for their living, travels the world and gets paid enough money to get what he wants, to choose what tournament he can play and he is gonna complain? This is ridiculous. I will gladly change my position with his. He is not an ITF player that have it hard, to get the right to f* complain.
Complaining about Bublik's life is not going to make yours better. And Bublik has a right to try to earn as much as he can. The tennis tournaments, organisations etc. etc. make an INCREDIBLE amount of money off him, far more than he gets in compensation from them. If you want to complain about greed, complain about them. Support everyone who does hard work to earn as much as they can.
Complaining about others having a relatively good life is exactly what your corporate overlords want, so they can have an INSANELY good life, while you waste your time complaining about Bublik.
@gwyneth6045 Wealth does not solve all problems.
@@andrewmccauley6262 You clearly didn't understand what I was saying. Im not complaining about Bubliks life. He is the one complaining and its ridiculous from him. Bublik has almost the best life he can get, if he wants more money, then he should focus on his game and get better to win more and not complain about how his tennis life is hard, because its obviously not. Most people dream to have a life as he has. He is not playing on ITF, where players have so little. Your comment is not helpful at all.
@@vernonfrance2974 Oh keep telling that to yourself buddy. That's what wealthy people tell you?
@@gwyneth6045 As a poor person I have learned that there is much that seems attainable through wealth and much that really is not. The wealthy can weather some storms because of money but they cannot achieve enlightenment with wealth alone.
Thank you for the fantastic video with the highlights❤❤ I absolute love the format! Helping me to catch up with the latest updates in the tennis world with with a lot of insights!🎉🎉
Glad you like them!
Sameeeeeeee ❤ Subscribing!
An Argentine called Schwartzman 😂 i wonder what his grandpa did for work.
I agree with Nadal's past comment on ''price money'' Sports is a business, not a charity, you earn the amount the marketplace is willing to pay!
What an excellent report, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every like this comment gets I’ll do push-ups.
Who cares if you do push-ups? 🙄

This trend is getting old
I just found this channel, and your content is really interesting, keep up the good work!
Ombelieable 😭😭
lol
Nadal was speaking the same feeling we all have about equal pay, it makes perfect sense men’s tennis should get paid more. So why is he in deep waters? And why are people scared to speak the truth these days?
If women want equal pay, simply sell more tickets. There is no "salary" in tennis, if you bring in the views you bring in more money and therefor you can get higher winnings. Same goes for any other "entertainment" industry.
Seems fair. And play 3 out of 5 as the men do, which beats up their bodies over time.
These videos are amazing! Thank you.
Glad you like them!
love the weekly updates. always tune into them
I love these weekly breakdowns!
Hi! I love your videos!! can you do ''what happen Lorenzo Musetti?
Excellent channel , great tennis news 💥
Much appreciated!
I don't get how people in the entertainment Industry are asking for better pay while working less 😮🤔
yes, equal pay is very important. That is why I advocate equal pay for male models and male adult performers to their female counterparts.
Nadal is clearly scared to be censored (like everyone else) which is why he changed his tune on the same pay.
I appreciate that you speak facts, and are not scared to say what we're all thinking. Thank you.
great video! keep doing them weekly news videos
Thanks! Will do!
Very impressive summaries! It looks like you have your finger on the Pulse! I think if you showed 10% more tennis it might make it even better?
Thanks 🙏
but women do work as hard and play hard ,train and go through almost everything on and off tour as the men
Salary is not based on How hard you work. If thats the case, brick layers, oil rig workers, etc shouls be paid the highest. Salary/Earnings is based on how much money someone brings in.
People need to learn basic economics.
I enjoy the recap do this when necessary I’d watch..
Gulbis fan for life!!
Good job
I like this format, but maybe a bit more structure would be good ... Maybe split it up to tournament review and news...
As a Roumanian, I really hope Halep will come back on the court and represent in the Olympics.
She’s a doper - there’s honestly too much damning evidence against her. She’s not coming back from this.
nadal is a true disgrace, changes his views so much, not being honest
also always retiring from tournaments after making people buy the ticket for nothing
"(novak) has had a better body than mine, and that also counts for something"
always the backhanded "compliment" . also this is a wrong statement :
novak has managed his life, recuperation better and chosen a tennis less harmful for his body, relying on elasticity rather than strenght
@CopR8r; Then with that opinion Messi must also be a disgrace for not playing in China due to abductor problems?!🙄
Now we also have an additional chapter to add into your vids in the future: 4 score and 4 years ago, on March 11th, 2020, on this fateful day; the unthinkable happened.
And there is no telling how Nadal admitted that Novak is a goat
He's probably tired of people saying them and is basing it on the way Djokovic acts like a billy goat.
@@vernonfrance2974 People are also tired of his injury cards, but he doesn't seem to care.So I highly doubt that he cares about what people think.lol
I'm afraid that i'll be the next one hander backhand in the top 10, and top 5 as well, at least, that's qhag i'm aiming. I' currently 16 yo and I'm pushijg hard to enter to the men tournaments ITF
Good luck and health to you!
humbert has been playing so damn good for the last 6-12 months, amazing rise and amazing player.
Didnt even mention jarry victory against alcaraz
Yeah, that was a big win for Jarry.
Love your sum up videos. You should male a video about no one handed backhand players in top 10 and give us a hint if there are any one-hander BH promising juniors atm
Can you do a video about Maria Sakkari?
Ostapenka is such a bratty child. Needs to grow up.
The Gael situation is just weird. They were "playing" around, and the official got a minor injury. Therefore, Gael was disqualified?! That's doesn't even make sense. So, what is the penalty for the official? He was also playing around. Is this a lose lose situation for the tennis player only? And how did this even got brought to light? Did the official start crying and whent to the higher ups and complained? Or did Gael feel bad for what happened, and went to get medical help, and then unfair tennis rules got Gael disqualified? Did the official lose his job for playing around and due to his silliness got injured? We will never know i guess but this is ridiculous. Tennis never fails to amaze me when stuff like this happens.
Can you make a video about djokovic and how long he will stay on top 👍
Rafa is getting woke on us. I remember when a reporter said to him why does he think there is an inequality in the pay of the wta compared to the mens side. It was in spanish and he said (il translate) "well, i don't know, why do women win more than men in the aspect of fashion?" And that was a great answer. But now we see him selling out a bit too much honestly.
First was football…. Now tennis… Next curling and darts
Is this Goatiology, but the tennis version? Sign me up
A summary of some of my thoughts:
I am not against equal pay but you can't determine that there should be equal pay based on ratings, like say, of a GS final. If Nadal is in a US Open final against Anderson and Serena is in the final against Venus, the women's final will be more popular. But likewise, if it's a Fedal final and a Serena-Pliskova final, the men's will be more viewed. Women's tennis is the most popular women's pro sport next to golf, so let's not act like the disparity is vast like the NBA/WNBA. Also, events like Indian Wells and the majors have both the men and women, and many people watch both during their stays at the venue, so how to you determine who is there to see what? Most people probably watch both, but there are certainly some who only come for one or the other. Some will go to a men's match for an hour, find it uninteresting, then go to another court where there's a tight ladies match (and vice-versa).
The 3 vs 5 set debate has been going around forever, but also remember that while Bo3 is less physical, there is also greater risk in being upset as a top seed. Think of the majors the big 3 wouldn't have won if they played Bo3. French 09 (RF vs Haas), French 11 (RN vs Isner), USO 11 (ND vs Fed), AO 12 (ND vs Murray), AO 20 (ND vs Thiem), FO 21 (ND vs Tsitsipas), AO 22 (RN vs Medvedev). I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting as well.
Thiem isn't going to have anywhere near the level of success the big 3 have had in their 30s. The injury issues he has had are worse than even Rafa's were in his 20s. The best he can hope for is to have a late career like Murray or Hewitt had. I'll eat my words if he comes back to the top 10 but I don't see it. Thiem has been back for a while and if he proved he could be back at his old form he would be.
I understand the frustration with the schedule for players who aren't at the top. If you are at the top you can take time off after Australia, Miami, Wimbledon, and US Open - that's what Roger did every year. But he could do that because he gained so many points in the 12-15 tournaments he played. For someone 30-80, consistently going out in the early rounds, yeah, you have to play a lot. It sucks, and it's not fair to say "practice more, play less" because financially a lot of guys can't afford to take time off to improve. The solution might be to make the Masters tournaments bigger and cut out more of the smaller tournaments, but the tour would never go for that.
As for the Saudi situation, they are using their money to buy their way into sports, whether people like it or not. There is no if, only when. Hopefully along the way there are enough influential people involved that can make a real difference in human rights in Saudi Arabia. Ultimately the players will have no problem if it means more money gets injected into the sport and prize money for each round starts doubling.
If they want equal pay let them play the same amount of sets in grand slams
Saudi Arabia sportswashing spree continues. They learned from Qatar and Russia's world cups, and went in on golf and boxing, now tennis. Disappointing to see stars like Rodick and Nadal go with it.
Just spread out more money in more tournaments.
I think there will always be pro players who struggle, and need to play every tournament they can to survive, aspiring pro players Hi need their family to fund their dream, etc. if you increase the stakes you improve the current players income and at the same time you give hope to another whole bunch of semi-pro players to become pro.
Wta Gs are just Masters with 1 day brakes. 🙄 But yes, no matter the sets. If the revenue is equal or more what Rafa said. There are select cases where wta GS finals made more views then atp. Us Open with Serena in the final, but the is a very rare case where factors like finalist notoriety and country where the tournament is hold plays a big role. There are places where you shouldn't have wta or at tournaments because there isn't an audience for it. I am talking about 250, 500 tournament's.
more of these videos !
Will do!
Personally, I can't watch tennis anymore because of the grunting. It irritates the he|| out of me and I can not get passed it to appreciate the amazing competition.
3:42 shows consistency and then he cut down on his errors???? Arent those two the same thing. I also heard that he makes more shots and doesn't miss as much.
Great job with these weekly breakdowns! But it's funny to hear that the only russian last name you pronounce correctly is Rybakina. Others are all wrong with stresses in them. If you're paying this respect to Rybakina, why not showing some to the others? 😉
I'm open to help you with those names 🙃
I won't forgive those that pushed the "stuff" that don't work and still won't apologise.
Connors is an idiot telling Thiem to be inspired by Federer, Nadal and Djokovic who played well into their 30s. They were all established champions and all time greats by the time they hit their 30s. Thiem has one grand slam and is already 31. He's been trying to get back to his former level but it is tough and he knows it.
Rafa always defended salary depending on the money generated. Nothing new here. I think you are misinterpreting his words :-/
Alcaraz is a bit disrespectful about opponents…. He’ll see that he actually has many rivals.
This report is so wrong about what he said, he never said that Novak and Jannick were his only rivals. The journalist named Novak and Jannick as the top players right now, Carlos agreed and also named Zverev. People should look at the real sources instead of believing the headlines that are made just to grab attention and controversies. If you watch the actual press conference, you will see the real context.
@@blackkitty9054 he also made comments at Australian Open…
The kid is like 21 with 2 grand slams already. Hes so young and supremely talented. At 21 you can afford some arrogance in the long run it will make you better

Your words describing the poorly translated Rafa statements about his rivals were much more confusing than his.
We need to talk about Tiafoe

@@Courtside_Tennis hahahaha you got it man !
@@Courtside_Tennis there you go ! 🙂
Paid more to play less? What a cop out. 19 tournaments a year is theoretically all you play and if you perform well enough to win them all you're getting paid a hell of alot.
Here’s equality: pay-per-point. You play 30% more points, get 30% more pay.
I don’t understand what public is saying. Nobody plays 11 months out of the year you pick your tournaments what you wanna play you know you may play seven come on.
Anche nel calcio....!?
E una questione di giro d'affari, le calciatrici non possono pretendere di guadagnare quanto Ronaldo o Messi o Bellingham. Lo stesso discorso vale nel tennis.
17.07 Its clear who the GOAT is. Look at that body language. Its screaming....
For me, Shapo’s got every shot in the book. Massive talent, but his tennis IQ is sorely lacking in such a highly competitive field. Not much going on in his head (it would seem, anyway) when it comes to constructing point strategy as opposed to just mindless blasting of the ball. Great when it works, but when he’s not 100% on, it’s going to be a bad day for him. I do wish him well though for 2024.
I stopped watching tennis this year after 30 years of watching it. I may look at it again when tennis is shown in 4K HDR 60fps. Right now, highlights on RUclips are 1080p 25fps. This is unacceptable in 2024. Other reason is that modern tennis has simply become just too boring and it's dying. Djokovic found the most effective way to play tennis that unfortunately lacks elegance and style displayed by past champions. And tennis youth is just copying what works, which is Djokovic's style. I really don't have any desire to watch Djokovic's copycats like Sinner win more grand slams with the same robotic style. At this point, tennis needs a revolution. Let them play with wooden rackets again maybe so tennis is about brains and artistry again, not just power.
Nadal is just causing 🎭 🥴
How are you going to accuse Nadal of lying when this is his statement?: "I want equality. I want women to make more than men if they generate it. Should the prizes be equal? In most tournaments they are. In my sport I have supported that internally."
How do you know he didn't support that internally????
Nadal said some truths about Djokovic but he neglected to say that Djokovic is a disgrace with is unsportsmanlike behavior throwing his tantrums, hitting balls at people when angry and breaking his rackets like a spoiled brat. Nadal probably realizes, being the great sportsperson that he is that those truths would be interpreted as sour grapes simply because he has lost once more to Djokovic than the reverse. However, Nadal does have two Olympic Gold medals to none for Djokovic.
Comment to show my appreciation for a great video. Really well made, only thing I might add more of is more interesting plays, rallies, moments in game. Like the shapo whiff! Otherwise extremely good content 👍
Thank you!
Rafa should just keep quiet on some subjects
Equal pay for unequal revenue creation = a new tennis league for men ... that's how free markets work.
Here is what I am thinking. Tennis players at the top are way overpaid. There should be more money for the challenger level and less for the top 50. Is Bublik suggesting that certain tournaments go away because he wants an easier schedule? Here is solution for that. Don't sign up. Duh ...
Tennis player deserve a better life?! Bublic should try a job in a construction business or maybe in a city sour or agriculture.
Update....Alçaram upset in Argentina ATP 250... wow...soo far só bed..He wants tô be Number 1... lol...
It's a shame that Alcaraz has become cocky.
It's all subjective, but if you go by stats and who they've had to compete against, it easier to pick Nola.
27-23 vs Roger
30-29 vs Rafa
24-22-20 in Grand Slams
Nola #1for 414 weeks
Federer #1 for 310 weekd
Nadal #1 for 209 weeks
And, if that's not enough
Djokovic is the only player to achieve the career Golden Masters by winning all nine active Masters tournaments, a feat he has completed twice.
Now all 3 are incredible and I love Pete.. But he didn't have 2 other all time greats challenging him.
😂
So based on ALL the data I've given u.. Nola.. Who, though starting to slip.. Did win 3 GS last year at age 36. Against new young lions like Sinner, Alcatraz and Medvedev
So imo the greatest ever (not counting Rod Laver)
Tennis players complaining of being over worked, I don’t buy it. Choose your tournaments, no one makes you play this game.
To be this good, you have to compete. Last I heard the top 10 players were doing okay money wise.
Nadal is a sell out.
equal prize money is such a joke
Might just be the lowest standard in men’s tennis, 4 decades
Haven’t you got anything better to do? I know I do.
are there no American tennis stars
Tensions?
Women’s tennis is less popular and less competitive. Thems the facts.
Equal pay for best of 5 vs best of 3 isn't equal pay for equal work. Time on court should be a factor imo. I think for GS and other big tourneys it should be best of 3 until the quarter, semi and finals for both men and women.
10 to 15 years? LMFAO. Never going to happen.
it's too bad PIF will be taking over ATP.
Equal pay for women same as the men is not a problem at all; and so is the number of viewers, I'm all for it!
Now let's see some 5 set Womens GS matches! No one should be coddling the gender issue, let's give some encouragement and have the WTA place 5 set matches in Majors!
If the men can go 5 sets, so can the women... but who is going to start that?
Where's the Tension? I've seen more Tension in Golf.
Reduce tournaments on hardcourts. Especially American tournaments. 3 masters in a year and two of them next to eachother. Grand slams are important in tennis not masters and atp finals. There should be 3masters, each on different surfaces and maybe 3 atp 500 also on each surface. and the grand slams. Everything else is unimportant and too much. Tennis is becoming boring. There is a tournament every week. It's too much.
So what? They don't have to play every tournament, they can choose what to play. And you don't have to watch that too. Nobody should reduce anything. If ur bored, watch something else. Its selfish to say something should be reduced just because its boring for you.
Yeah well I like watching tennis every week. Something to be said for players who stay fit.
You are suggesting there should be 10 tournaments a year. Even if there are too many tournaments, that would be far too few.
Why shouldn't tournaments be reduced? Do they have so many table tennis squash or badminton tournaments? Because of business there are tournaments every week. It's bad for the players and it doesn't do anything for viewers, same old every week. There are so many unnecesssry tournaments especially in USA. They should stick to the grand slams and few other tournaments on each continent and different surface. For me that would be the perfect schedule.
