    My father always told me as a child, as he held my hand in his, and we'd walk the dog around the block, "Bethany, Blue eyes, always remember big things come in small packages."
    Later, (41 years down the road) when his heart disease and cancer got the better of him, I would spend countless hours at the hospital by his side. Even though we could no longer take our walks he would still my hand and remind me, "Ole Blue Eyes, big things come in small packages."
    For Christmas this year, I will make myself probably 12 - 18 of these rings in different colorways to honor my benchmark for every other man who would walk into my life. He would have really liked you and Gina, too. He loved the women I truly found to look up to, who were artists as well.
    Please have the best of Holiday Season's, my dear!
    Merry Christmas,
    Bethany
    p.s. I purchased some watchfaces from Amazon to make more of the moonbeams collection. I'm a happy girl and I know a lot of others shall be happy, too!

    I want to let everyone know that although I typically buy Wildfire at Hobby Lobby for around $13, I bought some tonight at Wal-Mart for $4.44! They have Beadalon Wildfire white and black. Also, if in need of needles quickly they do have a package for $1.87 for 3 needles of each size 10,11, & 12. My Hobby Store isn't too close so Wal-Mart was a save!! On my pocket book also LOL

    • @missyidontgiveacrap9939
      @missyidontgiveacrap9939 5 лет назад

      Jen Blunt
      You’re pretty much spending the same amount, if not more at walmart. It’s only 20 yards at Walmart and 50 yards at hobby lobby. It’s actually cheaper at hobby lobby when you use the 40% off, so you’re still spending too much at Walmart. I did all the math and at $9.99 at hobby lobby with 40% off with 50 yards, it’s $6 for one versus 3 at $4.44 at 20 yards each, $13.32, not including tax, with total of 60 yards. So it’s better to get it at hobby lobby. Or just buy braided fishing line at Walmart for 150 yards for $12.65.

    For newer stitchers, may be better to have them measure the length before joining the ends; that is the best time to add or subtract beads rather than take apart the band. If there were too many beads, show how you would subtract from one end. Sweet little ring!

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  6 лет назад +1

      Susan Beal Thank you 🌹🌹🌹I suggest in the video how to measure size using a piece of paper and wrapping it around the finger. At the end I suggest checking the size before joining the ends😃😉 🙏 Your right about adding and subtracting beads - I go into that on the Corona ring and other bracelet video. I’ll post something in the description box to direct newer beaders to those videos.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  4 года назад +1

      So glad you’re making this ring Elizabeth 💗 It’s so pretty on! I try to use beads that don’t fade or that don’t fade so quickly. It’s really hit or miss. I love metallics but they are the least durable. I never wash my hands with a beaded ring on as it will ruin it in no time. I love beaded rings but really consider them temporary pieces. It’s inevitable that it will stretch or get wet. So I enjoy them and remake when needed😄🌸🌺

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  3 года назад

      You shouldn’t get your beaded jewelry wet. It will weaken and stretch the thread as well as some colors might run. Metallics usually don’t bleed but the thread will stretch if it gets wet 😀

      Gwynn Stevens Great idea Gwynn 😃 You could make a choker just the bracelet video (increase the length of course) I have been thinking about a necklace using a knot design so stay tuned (earrings too lol 😃😉🌻)

      I think it’s best with round seed beads but give it a try and see if you like it 🥰

    Row 1 uses 4" inches of thread if that.. I need the remaining 5plus 5' left for row 2? I'm a beginner.. I'm an idiot...

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  4 года назад

      You’re not an idiot 🥰 When you add the second row you are weaving around the beads so you will use more thread. I might overestimate a bit but weaving uses a ton of thread. I do apologize for how confusing the video is. Try starting with three feet if you like. The rest should be doable. Message me if you need help or encouragement 🌞

      @@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry thank you sooo much.. I considered the weaving in the 2nd row but wow.. I'm doing it with 6 feet anyhow cause I cut it.. I'll just have to DO it.. and your stuff is beautiful.. I thought the ring looked doable.. I'll take a picture if it when I'm done. I'm going to order some supplies using your coupon codes to complete my jewerly making workshop.. am looking forward to making lots of your stuff.. one thing I can't find anywhere is how to make a pom pom ring. I have a picture of my sisters..

      You’re very welcome 😉 I think you’ll enjoy bead weaving. This ring is a little challenging but I love that you’re going for it! Have fun with it. Have snacks handy and take breaks 😆🌸🌞

      This was made two years ago when we experienced the solar eclipse, as part of the Eclipse Beading Series. Corona means crown, like the sun’s corona. It’s not the word that is devastating, it’s the virus. I hope we don’t start equating this word forever with negative thoughts. 🌻🙏🌸

    FYI: I've tried this ring twice with 10 lb wildfire (only wildfire michaels / hobby lobby / ac moore carry), a size 12 needle, and toho 11/0. Hasn't worked. The first ring I broke three needles and couldn't join the band (thread too thick). The second ring (slightly different approach) I broke two beads when securing the knot and joining the band. Generally, I don't use fireline because it snags and knots. I've tried conditioning it with beeswax, no change. Is there some trick to using fireline?

      +mm Should work with Wildfire but try Fireline 6lb Black Satin for an easier fit. Toho might not fit as well as Miyuki as they are less rounded. Don’t know if that would make a difference. You could message me a picture on Facebook so I could look at your ring.

      +Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry If your Wildfire is .008 diameter it might be too thick for this project.

      Thanks for your reply. The ring is very attractive, so I am going to keep trying. My wildfire says .006, but it's palpably thicker than the fireline I have bought in the past. I am going to the store this weekend and will try and find the black satin. Have you had the snagging / knotting issue with the fireline? If so, how do you get around it?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  6 лет назад

      You're welcome! Fireline usually doesn't snag or knot when I use it. You can use a smaller length so it doesn't tangle or maybe wax it first with bees wax.

      Can you get 6 pound fireline or wildfire.? I would use 6 pound - it isn't as thick of a thread.

    I just made this ring...before I saw the notice below re adding/subtracting beads...and my ring is just slightly too big. I reinforced the outside rows on both sides thinking this might tighten it up but it didn't make much difference. Anybody have a fix they can share?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  4 года назад

      The only thing I can suggest is wear it on a larger finger😊 I go from ring finger to middle for any ring that is too big. 🌸
