    Am I the only one who finds places like this beautiful? Even if every part on these cars is now useless, they still look good to me sitting in the woods. I recently bought a home on two acres and one of the first things I did was I bought a rusted out 1940 Chevrolet and put it out in the woods!

    • @mysterybuyer3738
      @mysterybuyer3738 5 лет назад

      I always thought people had old cars on their property because they were to lazy to properly recycle them.
      Drives me nuts when I see an old vehicle in the woods. I just want it to get recycled so bad! The forest service comes around once in awhile and picks them up on public land but that one rotted 55 Chevy still sitting in the back woods just pisses me off.

    I know of a cleanout of three salvage yards here in my area like this. An old fellow. And his two sons bought all three yards next door to each other. They were the only yard within 200 miles that had a good head for my '50 Chevy truck.
    Riding with the old man to the wreck he pulled my head from I noticed the newest car there was a '58 Fairlane 500, saw a couple of old Ford ,C cab trucks complete!
    Went back a couple of months later, all 3 yards closed, they were scrapping EVERYTHING, even the two C cabs. Mad was not the word for me!!

      Fuck the cars , they belong to the owner , this guy has saved hundreds of cars over the years if it weren't for him they would have been crushed years ago , with the rising price of scrap , the guys probably havin hard times make ends meet so he needed the cash , who knows , this is happening in every junkyard in America , classic cars are being crushed almost daily because no one has the cash to restore them , sad I know but that's the reality these days & if I'm sent to do a job I'll do it to put money on the table even if that means crushing cars that to be honest are scrap anyway , so leave the workers alone cars don't pay bills or feed children, by the way thanks for the acdc music that's my favourite all time band 👍

      Probably had a reason for that. Anyway these cars look like they have been sitting there for 15 years or more, body and subframe all just rust. Even chrome trims that look OK from far away provavly have corrosion and still need renovation. Those barnfind cars that are kept away from sun and rain and have seen at least some maintenance are the ones worth saving. I have seen some similar cars taken to a garage and all they were able to get were carburettors and instrument panel, everything else was either vandalized (decals and trim), rusted through or completely destroyed by sunlight. Was not worth the cost of tow truck from aomeones backyard to the garage and then to the scrapyard (early 70's Plymouth). If it had seen at least some conservation and care, protection from the elements but it was all gone, even though it seemed a great parts car at first sight (had been sitting in a pensioners backyard for 20 years).

    All those “classic cars” were just a pile of junk… don’t blame people working on this video… they’re just doing their job (a nice job by the way). The true "criminal" here is the original owner of all those cars… not for hiring someone to get them to the scrap yard (I’m sure the owner had valued all cars condition before doing this, and sell them for scrap worth more money and time, than selling each car or parts)… for negligently letting all these cars turn to junk over time. At the end… this should be thanked, first for this enjoyable video; then, for adding value to our “surviving” classic cars… each time an old car gets doomed, my own oldie rises its value. Thanks for share!

    There's going to be a time when owning a classic car would be considered a thing only wealthy people can afford to keep.
    People who owns these cars as projects will panic when they find their bills skyrocketing, and they'll make their great sacrifice to give to someone who would appreciate it... only then to either find no buyers, or the buyers would have to chuck it because it's too much to spend. And then eventually, they'll end up like these.

    @6:55 one can see the excavator operator try and pick a car up, and it simply falls apart from the rust. The operator "mushes" it together in an attempt to pick the car up, but it is still simply falling to pieces. I love vintage and antique cars also, and own two. A 1961 Super 88 "bubbletop" and a 1955 Cadillac Coupe de'Ville. However, these cars have sat in the damp dirt for decades, and they are rusted beyond any use. Most of what is left in parts, is not even good. It was time to clean up the environment, and recycle the scrap into something useful. If anyone needs rust free parts, or wants a solid rust free car to restore, contact Desert Valley Auto Parts. I have purchased parts from them several times, and they are great to deal with. They have restoreable cars for sale, as well.

  • @Oldtruckguy37
    @Oldtruckguy37 5 лет назад

    Sadly, the reason fully intact classic cars just sit like that is because some asshole hordes them and turns away (probably with a shotgun) anyone who comes around asking about buying parts or even whole cars. Then when the old miser finally kicks the bucket...the cars are already rotted away beyond salvage. Truely a shame.

    It is good to see this area being cleared of the eyesore of abandoned cars although I do think that some spares could have been removed from the vehicles before they were totally trashed.

    Who needs a crusher? The excavator is all you need. For every classic car that is destroyed, the ones that dont get destroyed become more valuable.nice video footage and music, Highway that went to hell....

    this is the fate of many classic's that at one time was wanted and the owner would not sell because they say one day it will be restored. now the old fart dies and most likely the children want to sell the land and have no clue what some of this is worth. i know of a few blind non mobile fools that still do not want to sell things and think they will get healthy and restore it still as stuff sinks lower into the earth. want to twitch? how about a 69 426 hemi charger, 70 454 camero, 67 satellite 440, 67 red 400 4 speed convertible firebird with zero rust just to name a few of the top of my head.

    Hear of places like this and the pricks for owners won't let anyone buys parts or cars. They sit sit and rot then they send them all for scrap. If anyone reading this is one of those pricks, have a nice day. Of course, lots of car guys want everything for nothing to, but yes prices are high for parts that need major work.

  • @turbanwearersblow
    @turbanwearersblow 6 лет назад +2

    Sad to see, but something should have been done with these cars 20 years ago. Most of these “valuable parts” everybody’s bitching about are gone to waste years ago. The stuff is useless unfortunately. That’s why it’s getting crushed

    • @Nova-ne1il
      @Nova-ne1il 5 лет назад

      turbanwearersblow your wrong that impalla crome and badge should not have been scraped. And alot of the crome trim should have been saved.

      Your loss it's called re crome of you ever restored a car you would know

    • @Nova-ne1il
      @Nova-ne1il 5 лет назад +1

      Also for the spelling understand I'm using text to speech the spelling is not always right and I really don't care if you've ever restored a car that has Chrome badges and whatnot and trim that stuff can cost a fortune to buy new and it takes away from the car's value of having original equipment a lot of that stuff while pitted can be rechromed and that's usually what people restoring their cars do to keep them original I don't think you saw my other comment I agree 99% of these cars are trash and better off scrapped but stuff like Windows if you didn't know some of that stuff can be extremely expensive to buy new there's all sorts of bezels and things that literally are not reproduced anymore by any manufacturer.

    mostly parts cars that have already given up the good parts, 4 doors, 6 cyl.coupes, and stripped and rusted 50s cars, the 69/70 fast back was really rusty, should have been vin checked to see if it was a boss or drag pack car. Although sad to watch, not much of a loss parts wise.

    Is this the same yard that held the oil can van? I think that's what they called it.
    That was one of those lazy junk yards where the owners just scatter everything all over and don't care.

    • @garylangley4502
      @garylangley4502 5 лет назад +1

      People will scrounge old cars, then let them rot in the mud and leaves. I saw a few things like trim pieces that were still decent, and some bumpers that will do until a better one comes along. Mystery, I remember wrecking yards in the '70's where I would ask to buy some trim pieces, and the worker would chew me out about it saying that the pieces only go with the fender, quarter panel and so on. Then a month later, they would crush the car with all their precious parts that I would have bought, and the scrap may have netted them 5 cents.

    I'm an old car buff. Most of those cars have been there for many many years. There weren't many pieces there that even had usable parts that nobody has wanted for years. The junk owner has probably decided to turn all that junk into cash. To bad, so sad anyone wanting any of those parts should have been there long ago.
