  • Spent the day milling another couple hundred board feet of some 8/4 white oak. White oak has been in super high demand lately and we’ve been trying to keep up, milling about 1000 bdft each month. We have to do this because white oak takes such a long time to dry, these 2” thick boards will probably air dry at least 4 months before we can load into our kiln.

What is it being used for? Makes great T&G flooring, but to tough for almost anything else. Used alot of it in my life. Painfully well aware of its toughness. (New England white oak can dull aluminum oxide belts in minutes.)

It is in really high demand right now! These will be for furniture most likely.
