Chuck "the Iceman" Liddell got smashed by Randy Couture in his first title shot back in 2003. Liddell went on to fight in Pride FC after this before coming back to get revenge against Couture and claim the LHW title by KO (KO of the year 2005).
Chuck made the right adjustments for the rematch against Randy; keeping his distance, avoiding the clinch and enabling Randy to come to him. Set the stage for his Championship reign.
This was a great list!!! I'm happy to see Rose and I'm also with you on Miesha. Miesha did win the Strike Force championship but Ronda said Miesha would never gain the title that said, "UFC" so it was significant when she proved Ronda wrong.
I was a really big Rhonda Rousey fan there for a while, but the fighters I've always respected and enjoyed the most were the ones who are the most professional and graceful in defeat. To me, failure is a learning opportunity and is something thay really shows people for who they are. Rhonda had to be one of the biggest sore losers I've ever seen in any sport. Ultimately it made me lose all respect for her. I was really rooting for Rousey during the Holm fight, but I was definitely rooting for Nunes in her return bout.
Allot of ppl dont realize GSP has had success and won 2 world titles in 2 different weight classes in 2 different eras. Its a very rare thing especially in combat sports to dominate in 2 different era/generations so to speak. He won his first world title like 16 years ago. Any of the other former champions from that era would never be able to do that. GSP is one of the very few that kept up with the sport. MMA evolution never surpassed Georges.
George is a legend but I wouldn’t really give the most credit for dominating the new era cause he only beat bisping and then retired but he’s still the goat
@@jrk10 bro im pretty sure you also replied to me when i was using a different account in the comment section of a video about Henry Hill not too long ago. If its you, then what a coincidence. Small fkng world.
Im talking about the old guard like Hughes, Trigg, Serra era and pre usada era. 04-06 was a different era sort of when comparing those guys to Koscheck, Hendricks, Condit...
Valentina absolutely one the Nunes fight hands down. I remember watching it live, me and all my friends were in complete shock when the win was given to Nunes. Those judges should have been fired, never to work again. There's no way they paid attention to what was going on, or they had no idea how to score a fight. GSP is overrated as well. He lost the Hendricks fight, everyone knows it, and then he retired, which was terrible for Hendricks, but helped GSP save a little face, since he didn't have to fight Hendricks again. He knew he lost. If any of the guys who fought Francis, would have grappled him, instead of trying to prove they could stand with him, he wouldn't even be in title contention. Just my thoughts, I wont be arguing it with anyone :D
@unai Fair comment. It was unfortunately a disappointing fight due to the high level of inactivity. Attributed to Valentina being risk-averse by nature and Amanda wanting to beat Valentina at her own game, a stupid decision on Amanda's part as it very nearly backfired and did no favours for her with the fans. Amanda for all her greatness only put an asterisk and question mark instead of an exclamation point on her win over Valentina, certainly not a career moment she should be proud of. Same thing for Valentina, she can think he won the fight all she wants but nothing can overturn a result however controversial.
