How does a wind turbine work
Generally, wind turbines consist of three main parts: the tower, which forms the body of the turbine and is connected to the ground, the propellers connected to the central hub, and the nacelle (the region containing the generator, gear box, electrical-electronic elements).
Although wind turbines can be designed in many different types, the generally used wind turbines are "horizontal axis". In this type of turbines, the axis of the propellers is parallel to the ground. The blades (rotor) of these turbines, which resemble a giant weather vane, rotate with strong enough wind. The rotor is connected to the axle and the axle activates the dynamo inside the nacelle behind the propellers. The electricity produced by the dynamo is transmitted to the converter and is converted by the converter into a voltage suitable for the electrical network.
