- If your Kenmore or Whirlpool Refrigerator has stopped cooling, it could be due to a bad fan inside the freezer. There are a number of other things that will cause a no cool issue, like a defrost problem. Here we will troubleshoot the fan in this refrigerator.

Evap fan motor won’t spin. Motor replaced. Then realized power wasn’t getting to the motor, so replaced the board. Now I have power to the motor. Thought Defrost thermostat was the prob. When by passed, fan turns on. Replaced defrost thermostat which is open at room temp. So fan won’t come on until it’s cold.
So replaced 3 parts. Fridge is room temp, as if just brought home from the store. Plug in, but freezer isn’t cold enough to make the fan run because the stat is in an open state. If the fan doesn’t run, the air doesn’t move the cold. I can see the evap coil start to frost up when fridge is plugged in. So I know the know the compressor is working.
Left unit plugged in over night it’s been 11 hours. Spec sheet says freezer should be -18°C to -16°C. The thermostat I use for my pool is on the bottom of my freezer, it’s reading 0°C.

I have same problem and will check vlt/ohm on fan . And see if defrost timer works.
6:31 - I have a stupid question...If accidentally those two red-tipped wires were replaced in the reverse position of how they came off, would it affect how the fan works - like blow air in the reverse direction/spin the opposite way? My freezer is on the bottom. The motor went bad. Replaced the motor & now I have air blowing in my face when I open the freezer door instead of going up the back of the fridge. Just making sure before I take it apart again :) (Maytag fridge that uses whirlpool parts)
Hey Bill, I have a older Frigidaire side-by-side freezer refrigerator. My problem is my evaporator fan comes on and off on and off and then it runs constantly. After that. Do you have any idea what that could be and some of my stuff in the fridge part was freezing. The fans working now, but it doesn’t ever seem to shut off, much appreciated if you have any ideas. @@jonb351 yeah, my problem is the thermostat for the refrigerator side. If you turn refrigerator side, thermostat down to zero and it stops it’s that thermostat.

I am changing the board on a WHIRLPOOL Model WRF555SDFRZ but I dont have a CODE in the label,,,,so I don't know if I have to reprogramm it or not, Could you tell me something about it please ? Hello .. My whirpool gold side by side would be running perfectly but after a while i hear clicking sound and the ref stops cooling. by simply power off and on the ref it would work another few hours and happens again. I have cleaned the coils . What could it be?

+Raybo sflorida The fan was spinning in the fridge when the 120 volts was present. I said, if you have voltage and the fan is not spinning, then the fan motor is defective. Does that answer your questions?
@@BillNewberry I still don’t know why the motor was not getting voltage? What was the causing the evaporator motor to not getting the proper voltage. I have the same exact problem with my fridge. Could you elaborate a bit more as to what part could possibly be the defective.
I am getting no voltage at evaporator motor. The compressor and condenser fan are working fine. The first two minutes of your video is exactly what I have.
For me, my board was bad. Replaced my board and motor got power.
Jesus Christ!!!! EVERYTHING is NOT a defrost problem. Why is it every video of yours goes straight to defrost system???
So the fan is not defective what was the issue why was it not spinning ??

Hi Bill my Kenmore Elite side by side is warm on both sides evap and condenser fans both work. Compressor also works. I did notice the evap fan didn’t come on right away when I plugged it in. Love your videos very helpful.
Fan working so why is it not spinning? There is something along the fan power supply that did not supply fan with power.

Answer this one . EVAP motor was getting 40 volts... Opened defrost timer.. contacts pretty chard up.. so replaced it .. test leads to motor and got 120 volt.. plug motor in 120 volt goes away.. bench test motor works fine... Then voltage dropped to below 30 volts again at motor leads...... And a couple times the voltage slowly ramped up to 110 volts.... Irritated... Because it's a stupid problem to have... You think it's in thermostat?

Hi, if the speed of that fan is reduced, what it can cause? After the hurracane IRMA my refrigerator was 4 day without power and after the power was restore, the fresh food side is not cooling properly. The freezer is working fine but not with the same performace and the evaporator is super cold, it can be this fan? Let me know thanks!
I have a problem but what you shared did not address it yet I guess I may have to look at the evaporator motor or the compressor my coils are not frozen and the freezer works great so my defroster is working good I don't have the timer adjustment on mine like is on yours right now I have the refrigerator on the coldest setting to see what happens by morning.
I left my fridgedoor open i defrosted it now it works everything is frozen but it constantly runs and if i manuallly turn it off it feel like the compressor shakes can you help me diagnose it please
