This song brought me to tears. Love the album so much! It's a reminder that the Christian walk is not always easy, yet at the same time, Christ is the one who carries us through it. Even when we don't see God working he is there every step of the way.

This past week I have been praying and I’ve been mentioning “ Lord May you heal [this persons] health and any sickness they may have past, present, and future”. And then I saw this a week later wow amazing 👏🏼👏🏼May the Lord heal you of all sickness and may we praise Him for our sickness. As others have noted, it's so hard to pick a favorite! This one and JOY are tied I think. JOY is the song that got my wife really into you all, especially hearing it live in Atlanta. Loved all the songs though, thanks Kings K for a beautiful album :)

I think that's what the song is saying. I could be wrong, but the Chorus seems to be spoken from the point of view of God, calling us to set Him as our purpose and pleasure, to hold onto him in hard times. Especially since "Past, present, future, imagine what I see" at least at face value could only be true of God - He alone sees through all time. And so in that sense, it kinda calls us to trust Him, because He sees everything and sees how He will redeem the trouble we may be going through now.
@@IAmDLFL I definitely didn’t get that impression, but I know there’s only one proper interpretation of this song and it’s that of the songwriter. I hope yours is the correct one. Though it’s always disconcerting to hear folks sing for God what He’s never said.
@@BuckRailAirguns Kings K has a couple of songs from "God's" perspective (see "Rain") - I agree with David Lynchs interpretation that the chorus to this song is that way as well
@@shorty14d2 The song cannot be understood as being sung from God’s perspective and make sense. I hear y’all though and realize now that those particular verses were meant to be an answer from God. It’s hard to tell the difference when “God” sounds just like Chad. When we pray, we say “May I…”. When God speaks it is as good as done.
I think these folks are so creative and their music has been an inspiration and comfort in hard times. I think they are more creative and talented than any Christian music artists I know of. Their lyrics often paint such a perfect picture of the human condition and our doubts, fears, and struggles. However, when “God” makes an appearance in many of these songs, he often doesn’t sound like the God of the Bible. I think we would all agree that God is very gracious and kind to his people, but He is not like us.
@@BuckRailAirguns from my perspective I see it as “may I be your purpose” = help me to live according to Your purposes, and “may I be your pleasure” = help me to live in a way that You delight in. Not sure if that’s correct, but I don’t see anything wrong with saying either of those things.
What is his face covering supposed to symbolize?
I believe it is meant to be a shroud which is a cloth covering for a dead body, symbolizing us who were dead but brought to life in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17
