Not sure if it was intentional, but saying the extra letter out loud might have helped him remember what else was left in the puzzle. It didn't really slow him down! Thanks for posting all these Scrabble episodes, I used to love watching them!
What if they had 4 colored squares like on the actual Scrabble game? So if a contestant gets one of those squares: Light blue still worth $500 (no difference there) Dark blue worth $1,000 (instead of pink squares) Pink worth $1,500 (instead of $1,000) Red worth $2,000 (the highest amount) Wouldn't that be something?
I can't thank you enough for the lost airdates, usually if it's Network I can sometimes get them, but USA, not so much, I hope you can find out The whole run, "How did you get The NBC airdates anyway?"
"Do you do these by seeing who the players were?" that's how I try to do it, Chuck's Birthday in March was easy for 1989, as long as you know who the winner and next players were leaving off for the next show
Chuck forgot to give Eddie his $500 for getting "Catnap". At 15:34, the T appears in the blue square and Eddie hits his buzzer and correctly guesses the word. For that, he should've gotten $500.
There was definitely an edit between Eddie’s answer and Chuck saying he was correct. Not sure the reason for it, but it’s likely they forgot about the blue square during the stopdown.
Consummate gameplay from everybody in this episode. Especially that last segment.
19:39 Wow !!!
Eddie got both of them In one second!! Very well done there ....👍
The best bonus game win
Eddie crushed this game holy crap

Chuck REALLY hated the Chuck Bucks. LOL

4:31: The real debut of the Chuck Bucks.
Ed looks like Merv Griffin
Both people had problems with Octopus.
7:14: The prop department will probably have a word with Chuck after the taping. LOL
Annie Banfield is like the White Michel'le: high-pitched talking voice, but a great, husky singing voice.
Eddie was too focused and won
He solved "Catnap" on a blue square at 15:34. But Chuck forgot to give him his $500.
Eddie looks like R Truth
10 Letter words? I thought it was 9, unless NBC made a change

Lots of research and combing through newspaper articles.
"Was it preempted the next day due to Inauguration?" Chuck didn't mention it, he said they'd be be back tomorrow
@@Retrotv Chuck will say tomorrow a lot when it is, in fact, a weekend coming.

He probably still got it after he left.
@@sha11235 Yeah, perhaps.

How in the.... Dumb luck at its finest.
Is $2500 in bonus money the maximum you can win in one game?
No. $3,000 in Bonus Money. If and only if all three words that you won had pink bonus squares that you hit and won on.
It's actually $3,500.
