Cleared out my granddads old wood shed that he built I wondered how he kept warm especially here in the uk but from looking what he did was fill the gaps between boards with wood shavings and PVA glue ( Elmer’s glue in the USA I think ) made like a paste and pushed it in the gaps. No idea of this of any use to you but there it is.
Love the American-made tools you use! We got a lot of the hurricane rain, too, but thankfully little damage overall. The rain was welcome because we've been experiencing a drought all summer. It's so good to see you making tables - this is what you were doing when I first found your channel. For what it's worth, I'd turn the island table sideways. Take that with a grain of salt, please! God bless you and your family.
The table is nice. Although, I would place it the other way so as not to impede with the placement of the living room furniture. I also would have made it a little smaller for proper flow through the home. That’s just my opinion I’m sure the people who live there will make it work to their liking.
This is awesome. Most of what I watch on youtube is furniture building and what I love most about your videos is that it's so realistic and focused on value. Sure, I love seeing someone build something that is absolutely perfect (as far as I can tell at least), but that's not usually reality. You show building something in a reasonable amount of time with the tools that you have and realistic materials. It's beautiful, at least a little better that what I can usually do, but still realistic and focused on the value it's going to provide whoever gets to use it (rather than the instagram post). I'd love to see more content like this!
What a nice change. I enjoy the revamping videos but this is a treat. Have looked at ur craftsman works for years. It’s simply stunning. Ur talent has a beautiful outcome. Thanks for the peak into the other side for a bit.
I’ve always been creative and compelled to do it. My favorite thing to do outside of riding my bike was making things when i was a boy. Forts with stick furniture, bird houses, bows/arrows, etc.
This was a neat change of pace. The craftsmanship gets to shine through when your work doesn't have to go through a landlord filter. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
Beautiful island. I’m just a girl with minimal experiences with lots of things. I did buy myself a wood lathe that I haven’t used yet for my birthday. Do you have the plans how to turn the legs? What’s a good beginner project to start with the lathe? I really want to make bowls and cake stands. I’d be interested in seeing you make end tables, shelves for canning items, windows, working louvered shutters, storm windows, screen doors, bed frames, nut crackers. I’m like you and do a little of everything, so storage shelves for tools that we use, drywall tools, tile tools, simple wood working tools, work table. Things like that. Anyways. That’ll be all. Hugs to you and your family. Praying for everyone that was affected by the hurricanes and tornados.
Very nice island, that will be useful in a small kitchen. My daughter, son in law and two cats have been staying with me in Southern Illinois for over a week due to living in a mandatory evacuation area in South Florida, but they were smart and left early. They are just waiting to hear power is back on and gas stations have gas.
Nice project, I love the original one you had in this house as well as the one you painted the base green. Im most likely gonna try one of these builds.
Toutes mes félicitations monsieur pour votre travail, vos mains en or et votre patience🤗. J'ai savourée cette vidéo, geatitude à vous et profitez avec bonheur de cette magnifique table🥰😇😊🤗👍🤞👋
I dot make tables or much wood stuff. We are building a fence, our own design. I garden and need a fence to keep the critters out. ❤ I enjoy your videos.
I used to do my woodworking in this house. My shop was in the basement, but since we moved, I am without a Woodworking shop and getting this house ready to rent. I removed my tools from the basement and have them temporarily stored with some of them set up in this barn, it is temporary until I build my woodshop addition onto my sawmill building.
i started watching you when you used to regularly make tables, you inspired me to get a lathe, planned on making tables as well but i got derailed and made bowls and stuff, beautiful work, maybe someday ill attempt a table
Do you get individual homeowners insurance on each property or just have an umbrella policy on yourself? Ive bought a few rentals in florida and the insurance is outragous, trying to find alternatives.
I have individual policies on each house, ranging from $250 - $400ish per year per house. At least I think. My wife deals with the bills. I tell her not to tell me how much anything is.
I had this wood milled about 8-9 years ago. It was a video using my red sonoma, a rusty trailer and an electric winch to drag the logs into the trailer. I think called urban logging.
Woodshop style you get a c- Going to all the trouble in making this slap together, you should have went ahead a made it a beautiful piece of furniture with the proper measurements to fit the space. If I rented the house, I'd want you to remove it.

So glad to hear you and your family are safe.

That's homemade wood glue.
@@Jessa8891 I mean it’s sounds like it would work aye, but yeah he used it in the gaps in his wood working shed to weather proof it I guess
Love that you give people alternatives to spending money and using space for tools like a lathe.
Your new tenants will love this island in the kitchen. So much more counter space.

The island looks amazing!❤❤❤ Prayers 🙏🙏🙏

Very nice! Love this table. And watching it come together.

Wouldn't it fit if you turned the island 90 degrees?
Beautiful island! How would it look if you turned it so the long side was at the door instead?
Nice table, simple yet elegant. Colours are sweet.
So glad to see you all are alright. You have a great talent for building things, have you always been into building furniture and building?
I’ve always been creative and compelled to do it. My favorite thing to do outside of riding my bike was making things when i was a boy. Forts with stick furniture, bird houses, bows/arrows, etc.
@@homemadehome5575 Thats so cool, well you have a great talent for it.
You are clearly very talented & have great taste!
Magic wood!!
thats a cute table, good job!
It’s a lovely table, though I’m not a fan of the shabby chic look I think if somethings new it should look new 😊
Nice!!!
I'd love to see you build a closed cabinet island like you had before in that house. It was really nice.
This was a neat change of pace. The craftsmanship gets to shine through when your work doesn't have to go through a landlord filter. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
Nice island

24:57; some old shaker cabinet doors or maybe some old house doors as sides...?
It would probably take me a week or two to build it. Nice workmanship.
That floating shelf really is a great design idea.
It’s an awesome island table

3:00 Hurricane Rain. Way to stay focused. I would have started to build an arc.
wow!! watching you use the lathe was awesome!!
Looks very nice. Adds a lot of funtion to rhe kitchen Thanks for sharing.
Did you ever release the video of making the concrete counter tops for this house?
Pretty
that is great!!
Very Nice!!
So nice.😊
I'm glad you are all safe. That is good extra counter and storage space. I 'd put lockable wheels on it. Take care. 🙏
a drawer in that table would be quite useful...
👍🏻👍🏻❤️🇺🇸 would love to see small cabinet pieces too!
Damn makes me wanna try it! (Looks at apartment space.) One can dream. LOL

Love your dirt bike 🎉

I love your woodworking shed! Is the woodworking shed in the basement or off sight?

i started watching you when you used to regularly make tables, you inspired me to get a lathe, planned on making tables as well but i got derailed and made bowls and stuff, beautiful work, maybe someday ill attempt a table
Love the idea of the island but it's too big for that space. It really should be half the size.
I have a similar island
Great job, good size for the room, looks like a nice area, what state is that?

I thought you live up North? When you said Hurricane I was confused do you live in NC.? That's a very nice island.
Was that wood from what you harvested and slabbed like 4 years back?
I had this wood milled about 8-9 years ago. It was a video using my red sonoma, a rusty trailer and an electric winch to drag the logs into the trailer. I think called urban logging.

Love the table only wish you had kept natural, not a fan of the stressed look. The floors look great
I understand that, I did so thinking it will weather well long term painted.
Make me a custom kitchen table. I'll pay ya
👌🥰
How much would you sell this for?
😁👍🏼
