40 inch Symphonic Paiste and 38 inch Paiste Sound Creation Gong. Brighouse 31 August 2024

We are trying out a new venue, Brighub in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. An old pub, The Vulcan, built into the banks of the River Calder. The cellars are subterranean and so much of the Sound and Vibration are compressed back into the room and to the Gongs too. This was mainly an exercise in timing how long it takes to set up and take down the Gongs but we had a few minutes to spare to feel the effects of the room. I'm glad to say we found so many new sounds and interactions between the Gongs. The Sound Creation offered up such depths and Forty was like a revelation. We are looking forward to offering up the room for a Gong Bath. It's only a small room, for four at the most, so I'm figuring out what format it should take. The building is a business hub so it will likely be evening and weekend sessions. email markotn@hotmail
