Due to the fact that this is a very long video, I left out bookmarks on the video description if you wish to replay a moment or came here to see certain parts of the game. This should be helpful for you. Enjoy!
If they had kept the Tokyo Xtreme Racer nameplate, it probably would have sold better in the US. I picked this game up randomly for $3 in 2010 for my 360, and didn't even realize it was Tokyo Xtreme Racer until I played it. This was my favorite game on the 360, just wish it had the larger Tokyo map of TXR3 and a higher difficulty at least!
Unfortunately, it had to go by a different title because Ubisoft published it instead of Crave, and the Wangan was undergoing maintenance when Genki developed the game, so they couldn’t laser scan the road.
@Logan912 Try Wangan Midnight PS3. The game engine is based on this game, and also some wanderer boss cars from this game can be found in that game as well. But most importantly, you can drive on the Wangan area.
So glad you decided to do a game from the Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, Reiji. I always enjoyed the depth of customization, the hundreds of unique rivals, and of course the opportunity to cruise the highways of Tokyo at megaspeeds. Gonna have a blast watching this playthrough :)
No..fucking way..I wanted to look a good walkthrough of this game after seeing TXR's ones done to completion, until now. Reiji-sama, you are now one of my new favourite youtubers for racing games. Arigato.
So many memories on this game, the fact that it was so easy in comparison to the old games and didn't have Wangan/Yokohane line to Daikoku made me sad though :(
Try Wangan Midnight PS3 version if you want to drive on the Wangan/Yokohane line area since the game engine is based on this game. Also, you can find some wanderer boss cars from this game in that game as well.
It's a damn shame that the only thing we've heard of from the TXR series since this game came out was just a mobile game that quickly shut down. I would've love to seen a re-release of Import Tuner Challenger or even a remaster of TXR Zero come to current and next gen consoles, but at least we'll have awesome racing games to go back to on older systems when we get tired of needing an online connection to play a single player game, getting pestered with constant notifications, or having to deal with in-game pay walls and wait timers when all we wanna do is customize and drive cars as fast as we can on the digital open road.
I love this game, just sad that they didn’t put all the parts of Tokyo like Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero did. Would have been great to see a more up to date version of Tokyo. I love that they added Shibuya in it though. Waiting for a company to make a game with Tokyo in it with both the streets and highway.
The developer Genki (who made this game) actually made an official Wangan Midnight game for PS3, and it's REALLY good, I actually 100%ed it a few years ago. Very similar to this one in terms of gameplay, but you play through the story of the manga, chapter by chapter.
They really need to come back with the shutokou battle series i got almost all games since a kid back in the early 90s and 2000s i need genki or someone to bring it back or shit ill help
The TXR series deserved a better final game than Import Tuner Challenge, an unsatisfying slightly below-average feeling watered-down difficulty racer that was quickly forgotten..... My wish is that if Genki are still active, please give us a TXR:Zero remake with enhanced physics, realistic sound design, and updated graphics!!
@@TheMazdamn Why would Polyphony Digital make it? It’s Genki’s game, and Genki unfortunately stopped making games after a massive layoff several years ago.
I don't think they meant midnight irl, but midnight of ingame time, theres 3 time modes on this game, Daybreak, Night, Midnight, and i think you choose midnight and then you need to spawn on C1.
@@VeilsideTofu It’s the other way around. TXR is inspired by Wangan Midnight which came first. Genki even made a few Wangan Midnight games that used the TXR engine.

Bring back mcla on Xbox 360 plsss
1:44:40 A racer that has a reputation for theory-based racing and data inputs. Initial D reference. And probably the darkest character in TXR series
Now I feel bad for beating him.

$3 is the greatest bargain for such an underrated gem! Checking on it now, it's quite difficult to cop one without going above $50
Unfortunately, it had to go by a different title because Ubisoft published it instead of Crave, and the Wangan was undergoing maintenance when Genki developed the game, so they couldn’t laser scan the road.
@@Logan912 Couldn't they have just copied the code for the wangan highway from TXR3 and paste it to this game?
Wangan Midnight its the PS3 counterpart of this game tbh, you can try it

But they have the other 2 (Shinjuku, Shibuya) which any TXR players haven't gone to there.
Try Wangan Midnight PS3 version if you want to drive on the Wangan/Yokohane line area since the game engine is based on this game. Also, you can find some wanderer boss cars from this game in that game as well.

I play TXR3 and TXRD on my PS2 still!
the time you've put into this is impressive as always.
Reiji Finally Started Tokyo Xtreme Racer Series
So basically the final racer to beat is MSWGR.
『もはや狂人』参りました
頭が上がりません
すげー❗とにかくすげー‼️
I'm impressed, very nice playthrough!
Reiji. My man, you are an awesome person. Keep doing what you're doing!
Reiji, if you have time you wanna try Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2? Lancer Evos featured in there are the Evo 1-8 plus Evo 8 MR!
The best game in the franchise, in my opinion.

Only game that kind of had that was MC3:DE Remix
Congratulations on your excellent channel
greetings from Portugal
I subscribed to your channel.
Oh yeah Reiji 100% Completion
I just finished this game as well with the FD3S. Great walkthrough
??? Is a reference to Wangan Midnight character Akio Asakura the car he drives is a reference to The Devil Z from Wangan Midnight

Devil z back
Speaking about WM PS3, they have ITC Racers, and cars in the game.
@SleepyPopups Yeah, but most importantly, in Wangan Midnight PS3, you can drive through the Wangan area, where in this game you can't.
Reiji eu assisto a todos os seus canais de vídeo do jogo de corrida 🚘🚕🚙 você é o máximo valeu 👍👍👍...
the race looks awesome 👏👏👏👏👏❤💛
Reiji gostei muito do seu video e assisti ate o final
This is such an incredible playthru! 100% win all rivals in the first play! 0 Draw 0 Loss. How can this happen????
You know Reiji, he's good at this.
Vs King Speed= 11:30:24
Vs Devil Z/??? = 11:35:39

Super late but it's not final game anymore
Why didn't it click for me, that Panel Bomber's name was a Nintendo Music Composer when I saw it before?
Juiced 2 All Goals Run?
💙 looking good
The game is like wangan midnight cuz of da maps.
Its based on the real location man
In tokyo highway
subscribed.
great game
My only disappointment with this game was the lackluster soundtrack
The graphics in this game are ugly as sin. But the gameplay is good I still play it sometimes.
this game have 13 year old, what you expect?
So said Ubisoft didn’t let Genki finish this game.
Does online still work?
no
Kamikaze Koji / Lightning has the same car as yours (exceptions of underglow)
Where did snake eyes come from ? I get confused on how he fits a this
I can’t get Hopeless home to race me. I’ve entered the entrance more than 3 times and still won’t budge!! What to do??
May I know how to make Hopeless Home to race me? I've tried several times and he did not want to race me.
Start with your night at the Shibuya Line at least three times.
@@TurboReiji that means I need to go to Shibuya line and go to garage like 3 times?
Correct. Try that approach and let me know the outcome...
It worked. Start at the Shibuya Line 3 times and he'll accept the challenge.
Another question, how do I trigger green wild child to appear? I've a Impreza and still didn't appear at the area
What About Your New Game Asphalt
Nice game, but too much light compared to Dreamcast Racers
No Death Driver?
how do i race death driver
