You can't force people in real life to speak at 1.5 speed. So it’s better to practice patience - it will help you communicate normally with those who intentionally prefer to speak slowly.
Doublespeak does not appear in Orwell’s 1984. It is ‘doublethink’ in the novel. The section quoted was an explanation of doublethink. It’s a good book. It’s ok to read it so that we don’t propagate inaccurate information especially when the thesis of the video is against language abuses.
LOL Touché! It is doublethink... but my mistake is based on bad memory, not borne out of not reading the novel. I read 1984 at least twice over. I also doubt my mistake amounts to a "language abuse" similar to those illustrated in my video... but if you feel the need to strain at that gnat... have at it!
It’s is all good-just an English teacher trigger! I have read that in kids’ essays so many times over the years that I respond really erratically when I see it. And, you are correct to point out my hyperbole in the term ‘language abuse’. I don’t want to undermine the content of the video (which I certainly agree with). Sorry for the nutbag teacher response.

Loved this video essay. Greetings from Mexico
I get ya fella..the saddest part is watching people throw away salvation at the drop of a hat..its truely heartbreaking to watch..❤
Good video, but might be good to listen to it at at least 1.5x speed

@@alexpetrov8871 It's a video and not real life, but thanks for sharing
