People are watching Luffy fight on television (and I mean in the anime, not us viewers/fans). I would understand if you just started the anime/manga and then saw the live action. But these are kind of glaring mistakes to make if you're very far in the series. I hope you don't blow your mind in Skypeia with the antagonist's devil fruit ability, or the existence of the Minks for that matter.

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the live action, they had to make changes to have it fit in the short episode count. But I totally agree how Garp didn't work at all in the show
I disagree about them not including lougetown as a bad thing. The shows runtime is already pretty small and cramming another arc after all that happened so far would have made it probably rushed and lower quality. And I also like how they end it at arlong park because thats when Luffy gets his first wanted poster which I think is a great ending to the start of his journey.
From a pacing standpoint, lougetown feels like the opening to a season. The characters get some new gear, several new characters are introduced (Smoker and Dragon), and buggy tries to get his revenge on Luffy. Also Arlong Park is definitely a great climax. Yeah there is something to be said for having the entire east blue in one piece (lol), but from a story telling standpoint, I think they made a good choice. Now I am just worried because I don't know what situation is worse, all of Drum island and Alabasta being in one season, or them stretching it all out over two. My gut says the later is better, but that might be a lot of time to spend in a snow island and then a desert island respectively.
Oda gave his approval with the changes made, and I think a lot of the changes are for the better. I hated how long it took to defeat Kuro and his crew, so I'm glad most of them were dead, and he was like a horror slasher

I actually unsubscribed from netflix after the very first episode and have no thoughts of ever giving them my money again. Please netflix please stop ruining animes..

In the live action if you payed attention, Kuro explained he killed many of his crew, which for me works because it showed how evil he is, and i loved how he went from an enraged jerk, to being like a slasher killer
I didn't though the changes were that bad tbh. It's an adaptation for the western world, so they introduced a few things more typical of western movies (like the suspense of what was Nami cooking when joining Arlong and finally revealing it in a face to face with her sister).
My biggest issue is I don't think we're gonna get to see Nami's toes in her various high heels. They even censor the guys feet (luffy and shanks) with those goofy ass clogs they wear.
For Syrup Village and Garp I do agree that the changes were either not clever or not well realised. The others didn't bother me much since they could never include everything in just eight episodes. And I think that's also why we didn't get Logue Town. I think for an eight episode season Arlong Park was just the right thing to end it on.
The changes are weird but the live action version actually *works* which was genuinely surprising.

It's not an anime adaptation, it is a Manga adaptation, and the anime made some changes from the manga, also Along can hurt Luffy from Fishman Karate.
