The "start with the end" method might actually solve my problem with my latest book!! I've been stuck on the plot for months, but probably because I've never had a clear vision for how it ends, so I have no way of knowing the journey to get there. I'm excited to apply this advice, thank you so much!!

I love doing this first! I’ve learned to start every book by writing the first chapter and then writing the last chapter right away. Helps motivate me to write the middle

Did you get it figured out?

@Jeremy B Yep!! The entire plot was rubbish so I scrapped it and I'm moving on to better stories.😁

I love outlining personally. I really don't think I would have even come close to making the progress that I have on my series without it. Oftentimes the outlining is much easier than the actual writing, heh

Thank you for this info..i am working on a dark fantasy series...so i definitely need a way to break my story down into manageable chunks.

Thanks David. I feel like I knew this already but it helped hearing someone else say it. I didn't know the ending when I started my first novel and it wound up in the trash. Whoops lol

Outlines were something you were forced to do, and do after the fact, in school. Write the essay, then reverse engineer the ouline and pretend you did it first for credit. So yeah, never actually wrote an outline.
