My Missus lived in Westport and Greymouth. When she took me thru the West Cost I couldn't believe the beauty. My head was on permenant swivel. To protect this amazing land we need to stop the poison drops, and pine plantation's. If the Economy is more important then the Enviroment, try counting your $$$ while holding your breath.
I live in Auckland, but i've been to this little town and Greymouth twice in my life. Both times I was unlucky because of the damp weather. Rain is so abundant here, despite being on the west of the southern alps. The second time I went, there was a spectacular showcase of lightning, thunderstorms and even hailstorms in September 2011 or something!
I was here in December 2017. Beautiful place on the end of the world.
James Liddane, a great uncle of mine, died in Hotitika in 1941. A long way from County Clare.
