Unpopular opinion : She didn’t have to be rude to that assistant who was trying his best to cheer her up. Just because your son keeps upsetting you, it’s not an excuse to dismiss or shoo away others with disrespect just because “he’s not your son”. She didn’t even showed any genuine thanks to him for bringing her son back. So IMO she kinda deserved being left alone on her bday.

As someone who grew up with a toxic, gaslighting family (especially my narcissistic mother), I was moved to tears at the reminder that there is nothing like a loving family, whether it is one you are born into or one you create! I am lucky to have a wonderful group of loving, supportive people around me now, and just thinking of them in this type of situation absolutely brought on the waterworks! I always look to share videos of these types of relationships, especially one that is well written, well acted, and has great editing! Bravo! ❤
I don't care what day it was, unless it was absolutely mandatory I be at work and I was going to get fired, I always attend my mom's birthday even if I needed to take PTO for it. Even if that was the case, I find a way to make things up and give take her out somewhere, and don't make promises I know I don't intend to keep. Mom always come first in your life your mom is the first best friend forever and she's always there for you in the good times and the bad times and always love her and she always comes first in your life when you are very little my mom was my best friend she was like like Batman but the woman version of batman and she was my hero and and my first best friend since I was and she will always be with me in this.
