I'm so glad you decided to use perfdog for the gaming portion of the review. Your recent reviews didn't show the minimum-maximum range anymore, so it got harder to tell if the phone tends to drop frames or not. I think the fps graph and numbers really tell how consistent a phone performs under load.
The best value smartphone in my opinion. I just ordered it from China and payed about €600. I did a lot of research about the competitors (Xiaomi 14 pro, One plus 12, Vivo X100 pro ...) and the IQOO 12 was definitely the best value for my money.

Hi nick, I'm disappointed that you didn’t cover any information about battery life, thermals and efficiency vs the 8 gen 2 variants last year. This has been a question so many want the answer to, as rumors go around that battery life could potentially be worse this year. But it's the job of tech tubers to tell us the answers, and because thermals and battery life is so important in day to day use for the consumer AND the longetivity of the device, I'm a bit saddened.

i have the unit and im gaming on it massively .It heats a littkle . that is the thing i love the most . its not like my samsung s23u that heats a lot . The thermals was great and the performance was topnotch . about the battery ? its superb i tell you . this device is super good . but the only down side to me is its selfie .
Over here in the UK, we are denied access to many of the top flagship Chinese devices. Watching how this device's camera performed made my jaw genuinely drop. If you live somewhere where access to such devices is no problem then you should consider yourselves lucky. I own an S23 Ultra by the way, which I am delighted with, but we need more choice options over here.
If you purchase from ebay you can get them, however it will be the original chinese edition which may come with problems ie. Sim use. Ebay has an option for paypal credit so if you are used to paying monthly you can do that as well. It's disappointing how limited we are but there are ways to work around it, all hope is not lost and as a fellow Brit I am seriously considering purchasing one of these.

Hey Nick, thanks for the video as always! Just wanted to point out that maybe we should use High Brightness Mode(HBM) brightness to compare as at 2:16 of the video. I just found out that the "peak brightness" of most of this phone seem to be marketing gimmicks and they measure it by limiting the phone to lit up a much smaller portion of the screen to that brightness only, not for the average user's uses.

I used to own the original Iqoo and gifted it to my father in law, it is still working flawlessly to this day! Never had an issue! I'll stick with my Samsung galaxy s23 ultra for now! Can't wait to see what the Iqoo 13 will bring to the table! 😊
@yepsfringe5285 the price actually depend on where you live, here in my country in SEA region the galaxy S23 Ultra cost around $870 and this iQoo 12 Pro cost around $730, so the diffence just less than $150

Unlike the Iqoo 12, the pro variant has wireless charging at 50W, has an IP 68 certification and has the E7 screen from Samsung which supports WQHD+ (515 ppi). It's more expensive of course (around $950 cad ~ $ 700 USD) but thought some of you might like to know. Personally, I'll be getting the pro variant. 😊

The phones do offer great value. The pro model both this version and the 11 have one feature better tan any other phone I have xome across. It is something nobody ever seems to test network connect inpoor signal areas. It would be interesting to find out if the base models do to. I work in a small town with lotz of high old buildings. Phone masts limited reception terrible. Where most people struggle to connect the pro models aleays have over 10mbps even on a bad day. If you suffer simolary where you live or work the phones arevworth considering before all othes. As well outlined and presented they in general before this point offer excellent value in their price range.

I'm questioning the design choice of having a 3x periscope lense on a phone that's already that thick and is capable of housing a normal telephoto lense. A periscope will only take more space and limit the sensor size which in turn will have worst results in challenging light conditions.
Because when the focal length is below 75mm, the high pixel cropping of the main camera has sufficient image quality, while when it is above 75mm, the high pixel cropping of the main camera is already insufficient. Therefore, a native 75mm lens is needed. Of course, you can also do vertical telephoto, but in that case, the thickness of the phone will probably reach the level of 15mm
Display is one of the primary components while selecting a phone, you've just spend 20 mins on it. Please get into details, 12 vs 12 pro both use different display panels from different manufacturers.

You wont really notice the difference on such a small screen mate.
1080p is all you need on a handheld device, anything more than that is just marketing.
