Great video. Got two questions for you: 1. What's the best method for getting the ceramic out when it breaks off the glow plug and is stuck inside? 2. Why does the keyed ignition damage the PCB?
Thank you so much for the video, just bought your extractor tool on Amazon. Wish me luck.... on another note, do you have any recommendations on an alternative to the keyed ignition to prevent theft? I don't have anything from keeping someone else from liking my m1123 more than me. I sent this video to one of my friends who just installed a keyed ignition on his and he was bragging about how it only cost him 20 bucks lol, sent him this video and he's taking it off. Thanks again
My m998 doesn’t like to start in the morning. I have noticed that if I plug in the block heater and try to start it a hour later it fires right up . What’s up with that ? Is there something I should replace? Runs fine after first startup .
What happens to the rest of the glow plug that may be left in the head? Just received my plugs and extractor. I'm 3 for 3 swollen plugs on my M1151A1 , the tool works great. Any tips on doing the right side. Heat shield is tight for the tool. Was thinking of dropping the starter and the generator leads to remove the heat shield. I plan to do the body mounts while I'm in there. Would it be safe to say my start box is bad? The light on the dash goes out but I don't hear the solanoid click off till I turn switch to the stop position. Thanks
@@NickMinskey I changed my start box. I don't think it was shutting off. The tool works great. It takes a little bit of thought to do the right side. You can't get a ratchet on the tool. I used a box wrench and turned the tool. Make 100% the threads are out of the head. It works. Once I figured it out it takes no time. The left side can be done entirely from the bottom , a ton of room. All 8 of my plugs were shot and swollen.
Great video to review! I do have a question though. I'm 100% on board with the keyed ignition switches. Keep that stuff out if you value the life of the electrical system. However, i was wondering if you had any thoughts to mechanical or electrical cut-off switches for the added security.
Best video yet, thank you for taking the time to make this!! S/F Mitch

Any update on your start box? I have the same experience where the solenoid clicks off when I flip the switch to off, not sure if that's normal

Get their fuel shutoff they offer. I got the keyed version.
Any glow plug manufacturer you would recommend. I'm going to change mine as part of p/m on my new to me M-1123🍻🇺🇸. I wrote too soon.
