If you have high migration but do not build housing, you have a huge problem.

Thats not the whole story, but you do you. Even without migration it would be a problem.

    German here.
The rental misery we have now doesn´t come out of the blue.
For years, if not decades not enough apartments were built, mostly because of regulation (tight development plans, compensation areas, no conversion of farmland to building land, absurd high requirements for energy consumption and insulation).
On top of that Europe suffered from the effects of mass immigration. The bad thing about this topic is how solidarity ended at the railroad station when they arrived inside our borders. There were no extra apartments builds for the millions of refugees came to us. It´s not exactly their fault, they just wanted to escape from unbelievable misery. Ironically, all these low-income students, who greeted them when they came are most affected of apartment scarcity.

The way the rest of the developed world has viciously attacked the US which has been inundated with over 120 million+ migrants and offspring from the third world within a 40 year period - 50 million+ illegally - part of me relishes this. Let's see how your socialism works now!! ;)

What do immigrants have to do with this? If you don't build then people won't have a place to live even if immigrants don't come. I love how Europeans love to blame immigrants instead of blaming their own governments who's robbing them blind

Houses are not a market. They are not a bank in which to invest long-term savings. They are not a casino in which to speculate. Houses are homes.

Mostly big gov't pumping money into economy without associated productivity. Even this video doesn't get it...

Remembering Europe has had open borders for decades..... That wouldn't lead to this right?

No. It leads to other problems, but not a continent wide housing crisis.

Because they panic when the "cost of living" starts falling, and rush to print money.
    "Cost of LIVING". Awful world.

Before ‘freedom’, living was free. Isn’t that progress?

like entire countries took leave from work to stay home during Covid crisis, all big cities where housing is unaffordable should take similar leave from all other activities - to move biggest employers out of the city so that they vacate the spaces, provide all necessary manpower to house builders so that more housing is built - then this housing crisis can be solved in just one year.. all it needs is a strong will

Why would people risk their lives to find freedom,
but never thought of going to a country like China 🇨🇳?

    • @spacecube8561
      @spacecube8561 11 месяцев назад

      because they want - freedom.
that's why people's republic of china is automatically - disqualified.
Republic of China - Taiwan, however..... that's another story

Most immigrants are not looking for freedom, but better economic conditions. Most of them are running away from their country just to have a better life. A lot of countries in Europe have many financials aids (France being the top one, that is why they are suffering from huge immigration). China is a more conservative country than the European ones. If an immigrant comes and don't work, he won't get shit there, as opposite to Europe, where, the less you work, the more you make :)

WTF is this lady doing to her voice while narrating this? She speeds up, slows down at predictably unsettling times no matter what's to be read.
