but you aren't spending 2 months working on it, you're just waiting. its not like grinding for 2 months then selling the trash loot and saying "hey I made billions in 10 seconds" because you don't have to actively do anything during the 2 months.
People ignored my early guides as being too small, now they ignore my bigger guides as being out of reach. You can have iron-clad airtight alibis as why you can't do this but if you watched and did my stuff over the 4 years I showed you how you would have already surpassed me and I wholeheartedly believe that.
@@Infernoh To buy the sharps or rather to do any kind of similar investment, You need the initial capital. Blade even clearly states that. In other words to make this investment, and gain a multi billion profit, You need the initial capital. So this "time needed" for obtaining the initial capital can vary, depending on the capability/activity of the.. investor. I'd say over all f**k the timespan, but the advice is excellent. A bit late to the party, but I really enjoyed this video. I did the same thing in runescape and like you mentioned you experienced; everyone called me a madman. I invested what was at the time alot of gold into the market and purchased items and waited several years for them to turn a massive profit margin of about 100x and walked away with 20 billion gold with what started as a 200 million gold investment. The way you talked about what I call "speculative investment" in video game markets matches my experiences to a tee. I'm glad things worked out for you. I just started BDO less than a week ago and hopefully once I get my bases covered I can start playing the most entertaining mini game in any MMORPG: "the market"

He is putting in investments by buying shards at their smallest then waiting for the shard prices to skyrocket in value before selling them in bulks. And thanks to Value Packs, you get the full benefit of selling the goods back to the market.

Title is pretty misleading, you didn't make 55B in 5 hours, you collected your 55B in profits over several months in 5 hours.
But it's accurate if it only cost him 5 hours of time, whereas another person might spend months of active grinding to build up that much profit. So he invested 5 hours of time and received 55 billion for his efforts.

I stay listening till you speak the words that explains the underlining process of your action. At this point, I skip every thing that has to do with black desert and rely on finding that bit of information that explains the real economic expertise. Its only a morsel of information but to me you have opened up whole new way of experiencing mmorpg and I'm looking forward to playing next one.
I've also went through all your previous videos including non black desert related to find this gold of information.
I tried studying economic course, all i find is how to calculate and relative behaviour the market has, but, your teaching usually rounds up into something that's is practical and tested.

The best economist I've ever seen is Milton Friedman, he won a Pulitzer for his economic analysis (I didnt even know someone could do that!) He's brilliant and has tons of concepts I don't understand and strive to learn myself. Check that guy out also.
It's awesome that the profit is in the process stuck with you. I got a deviation from that from Jim Rohn, the foremost business philosopher and mentor to Tony Robbins. He explained and I agree with him that "If you work hard on your job you can make a living, if you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune!" and "It's not what you get that makes you valuble, but what you become that makes you valuable" Strive for what is right, and keep learning and I'm sure you're on the road to better things! so basically,
1.you get a lot of starting money (selling your gear or whatever).
2. you buy items that will have high demand on their lowest possible cost state
3. therefore you have a load of items on hold which people will be looking for (supply)
4. you then occasionally sell those items which are now on high demand and provide that supply for it
did i miss anything?
Ofc youll need knowledge of the gaming mechanic and what items have high demand value to make the best use out of this.
i do it occasionally aswell, but on a much more save way which will take me about 2-3month of active play (using up energy mostly) to make about 66%-75% earnings via npcs.
i dont like risking stuff in this case.

buy low sell high has been around thousands of years longer than I have. Whats important is how to read the BDO indicators, like the PEN Nouvers and Tungrades juxtaposed the more common consumables. Reading the waves of prices will let you make better decisions so thats why I went through this with everyone, I think its important. What is least important in this entire video is that I made 55bill in next to no time, yet that is the marketing side that will get people listening to what I really wanted to teach
Im currently in an investment at the end of an event with 700mil invested looking to get close to twice that in return. Using an idea I had gotten from this strategy. So far since I've been back I've grossed 2 bill towards my net worth in a week an a half this will be my second investment. I'm working items im already familiar with so im alot more comfortable with working it. Now comes patience... which is probably the hardest part but if it works ohhh crap huge gains. Thanks blade. Hello! Happy to hear of your success! You're on the right track for sure. Be sure to mitigate both your gains and losses while maximizing your experience at investing. In other words, don't miss a chance to dip into a market if you see potential, but put so little in that is doesn't make much of a bottom line difference. Eventually this training will allow you to make dozens of billions in hours

Hey Blade! Great video, very educational about the BDO economy and economics in general. Just one point or question I would like to address though. So just wondering if the 56 Billion silver included the opportunity cost of the gears you sold. When the sharps and hards market was down in price, the boss gear was also really cheap. So if you had held on to the boss gear instead of selling them back then you would've made a profit as well, ie. when you sold the PEN nouver they were valued at 12-15billion like you mentioned, however, if you look at the market right now, they are valued at 19 billion. PEN Muskan price also increased by a lot as well as the other gear you sold. So if you had kept all the boss gear and sold them now, wouldn't that also have made you a profit? (I'm not sure if you already included the price adjustment of the gears in the 56b) But wouldn't true profit be 56b - (the price difference in gears) = actual profit made? Just my 2 cents of something I was wondering about when I was watching the video. >_
Great question! Best I've seen I think! The 56 billion does not deduct opportunity cost. All opportunity cost, or the next best thing you are giving up to chose a path, must be considered before you take action. I did consider them all greatly, though to deduct for it wouldn't make sense in this investing example. The reason for that is because I was not planning to rebuy the same pieces of gear. I was using this as a launching point to my end game, which worked. If I sold a TET Ogre to invest and then rebuy the same TET Ogre, especially higher, I would overall have to deduct both the initial networth lost through taxes and then add the cost of paying more to go back where I was with the same piece of gear. Then I would have to say that my net return would be so and so. But my net profit, which this video is about, would not include those.
Furthermore I was able to sell things like my TET Tungrad Earring for 16 Billion, this was a piece I later bought back for 9billion. But I am also not including that into this profit video. Because the two are not the same, what you are taking about is a futures market. Investing in rebuying in the future what you are selling now, and for that I would have a different cost analysis and anything I could use the money I made by my short term sale for would just be extra.
Moreover if you mathematically account for perfect opportunity cost there is almost always something that we are unaware of or better happening that make more silver per hour. So it would be incorrect to account for it. That would be like saying grinding Hystria is -80mill per hour for example. Perhaps more money can be made elsewhere at any time, but it doesn't change the profit here from being 56billion.
Lastly, I used this to then purchase a PEN Laytenn, 2X PEN Crescents and a PEN Basilisk. Along with a couple other PENs. That along increased my networth over 200billion of opportunity cost of enhancing them myself, but again, would not be considered here. Thanks for the great question!
The only thought provoking question in this section. It's an interesting point if you consider purchase power on a larger scale. This obviously had an affect on other opportunities for investment not sure if he found any worth while in those two months. I'm sure there were other opportunities he could have found to make money investing when he didn't have that cash. However that is a large part of using your finances in the most efficient way you can find. On the other hand if he didn't purchase as many all at once it might not have spiked the value so drastically in such a short period of time (granted it would have had natural increase after the event ended) But if you consider watching the price go up so suddenly others also attempt to get in on the investment the higher the increase the more attention it grabs. Of course there is always risks with investing though. Silver Inflation makes investment more superficially profitable but crashing makes all investments less worthwhile in the same way.

Honestly this was a very unique circumstance that isn't likely to be replicated any time soon. In general the current way the marketplace works, prices on bulk items don't wiggle much at all even over long periods due to the min and max caps and their recent reduction to be within 10% of each other or whatever. Archeage was much easier to make money off the AH just because there was no arbitrary cap contributing to getting almost no profit due to mp taxes. The next time a value item tanks in price, I doubt, will be any time soon to replicate.
Black spirit claws went from 1m to 10m in EU, these things still happen they are just hard to anticipate
While I cannot go to the market today and buy another 25K sharps for 1.4mill its paradoxical to say it can't be replicated. The only sure way to replicate anything is to go back in time and redo it. It's not about "replicating" its about understanding. You see, my same understanding made me comparative fortunes in 2016 with platinum crystals, reagents, coal, weapon stone, sharps and hards, then in 2017 with sharps and hards again, then weapon stones, and 2018 with benshos, weapon cores, guardian seals, and again in 2019 with sharps, hards, various PENs even. We can't look at a success as say "thats over, nice for him."
I made this video for one reason, while the unthinking repetitive actions of a brute will not proffer the keys to investing, I have used the same thinking to understand what to buy, when to buy it, and when to sell it to create fortunes two dozen times over. I have done everything I could to teach it to others since 2016, its up to you to practice. And get ready, because one day someone will use the same principles I used to make an investment that dwarfs this one. Hell one thing I didn't even think about is I bought 200,000 acacia sap, 100k elder tree sap, 140k white cedar sap when they were all 600 each because they had no value. What are they now? 5x? 10x? With the release of new boats soon that take 10k each, maybe I'll be selling that for 20k a piece who knows. At one point I owned 1/4th of the entire amount of Acacia Sap every sold on NA because it hit every principle used here. This all still works
@@BladeBoques Was under the impression the max and min prices were recently scaled to be significantly smaller and reduce total fluctuation, thus reducing profit from all this. It isn't actually in the patch notes that I can find, perhaps I'm wrong.

Facts.
What is so hard to understand? there are a lot of items and low demand for them, so prices go down. if the market is dry of that item and the demand increases, the prices go up... he will inject money for some time into the market of sharps and the market will see that its demand and almost no items in it and will start to increase the prices. when the price will go at ~max, he will start to inject the market with that item. 1.4 mil min - 3.7 mil max, its double proffit with a value pack, well at least. but take time to sell all those sharps.
This logic applies to something that will always sell quick and ppl need all the time and the shards were the best choose, well and the hards but sharps go higher in price than hards.
Ppl will get the silver from that 1.4mil shards, buy gear and then they will want to enchance, but surprise there are few shards so they will order them at max price if there are none and market goes up and up :D

So basically in short, buy items up when event is there that lowers the value of a high in demand item, then resell once there is demand for it and no more event.

So the point of this is to increase the price of the item because the market is flooded with a high amount of items and therefore their true value is decreased or am I wrong?
No dude, I did not increase the price. I purchased them when the price did not reflect the value I perceived them to have, thus when they were priced correctly at the value I judged I sold them. There true value was higher than the price, we could see that from what caused the oversupply and how the enhancement market was reacting. The entire world was acting as if we were in a several times worse recession than we were, so seeing it correctly I purchased believing there actual value would be realized.

Well today in 2021 with lifeskill u can do around 3-6b a day but u need pen manos tools, pen gather,hunter,cook clothes, that nets me around 3-6b but u teach me a lot as well blades
Exactly, just as a house in the last century was just a few grand we quickly see amounts mean less and less. Yet back when this was done people would be hopeful for even 2bill a week. So using your numbers this could be compared to a modern 2021 1.155 Trillion in 5 hours accounting for inflation. Best to take these in their historical context and not even worry about "what you can make now" in comparison and learn the strategies that worked then and work now :)

so far on the ps4 i've made a few investments... probably more than i should have as i spend roughly 50+ mill a day investing. But alot of the items i purchased have over 3x the value atm and something like logs where i always had a preorder have a ridiculous price atm, usable scantling are at 20k each and there is still preorders and thats roughly 10x the initial price i invested. Probably the biggest flip but limited since there is so many preorders im just sitting on 2k which doesnt make for a big payout but it was a good investment especially considering ships in the future will make sure price doesn't go down. Currently making one of my bigger investments and hopefully with update it pays off, since ill be dumping most of my resources into it.
Ah man be careful, you dont want to end up resource rich and silver poor. Some of the best opportunities come from be able to snag a PEN Accessory on the market where they are max prices at about 40% of the average cost to create one. Don't forget about those potential gains, it actually made me more than anything else

Since I haven't looked at this in a year ROUGHLY 65% with +30% is 84.5%, up to 85.5 with the family fame bonus I had, so somehere after selling these it was around 137 billion, with tax bringing it down to 110 billion or so, with the initital of 50 or whatever billion so like 50-60 some w/e profit.
