Just hearing the voice I associated with Tails growing up representing the character felt surreal, it's not often a VA gets to play their own part in Blockbuster stuff but Colleen O’Shaughnessey gets to retain that magic, and hearing it just warmed my heart in the best way.

I don't think there would have been a sequel. I went to see it mostly because I liked the new design and figured I'd support all the artists that worked overtime to fix that train wreck. I was not expecting to actually get invested in the story. I seriously almost cried at the baseball scene 😢 I just felt so bad for Sonic.

Not only is that THE Colleen O’Shaughnessey reprising her role as Tails from the most recent installments, but since this is clearly a retelling of the Death Egg saga (Sonic 2 + Sonic 3 & Knuckles), it’s makes sense that Sonic and Tails would be meeting for the first time in this movie and thus pave the way for their legendary partnership. That as well as Knuckles being duped by Eggman because what else is new, but back then you genuinely believed that Knuckles WAS an antagonist up until the twist where the Doc steals the Master Emerald. Also, that trailer music? An *orchestral arrange of Emerald Hill Zone from Sonic 2!* And of course, Idris Elba as Knux is just… *chef’s kiss* perfect.
Seeing as there was a Sanic reference in the first film, I really hope there is a Ugandan Knuckles or OH NO reference in this film somewhere. All they need to do is just have him say "I know the way"
i absolutely love how they did this entire trailer and how much hard work has been put into all of it. tails is as adorable as ever and they dont miss involving references like the tornado, theres the master emerald (or maybe its a chaos emerald, i cant tell. prob explained in the movie) and references to zones like ice cap zone(?) which is lovely to see. they did knuckles so clean as well, hes not just some comedic relief and we see him actually serious in a long time. and his voice bruh. his voice. i dont know what they did but something about his voice fits in every single way. im genuinely interested to see where the movie goes from here. its awesome seeing all these sonic fans hyping for the movie and coming together, i wonder if the next movie will focus more on sonic cd with metal sonic and amy, or maybe other characters like shadow? i honestly dont know at this point, theres so much love being put into this movie im sure either scenario will turn out great
It’s definitely not a chaos emerald they are way smaller, so it’s either a Super Emerald or the Master Emerald. I mainly hope I see Emerald Hill Zone bro when I heard that in the trailer I almost started crying.
I really really REALLY hope Tails introduces himself with his real name (Miles Prower) and Sonic gives him the nickname we all know and love 😭 The “My name’s Tails” voice clip could be him talking to Tom, since there are a lot of times when trailers put audio in different scenes.
Pros: -This feels more like a Sonic movie than before -Jimmy Carrey dawning the traditional eggman look throughout the film -Introduction of many familiar aspects of the games that will appease fans -Tails's VA sounds like it was ripped straight out of the games -Making Knuckles a formidable foe (Knuckles is from a tribe of echidnas as seen from Sonic's homeworld, and they will probably tie Sonic's ability origin to that of the mystic practices of the echidnas and the fact that Knuckles is the protector of the master emerald, just my guess) -Introducing the master emerald before the chaos emeralds sort of makes sense in a Hollywood format. You can establish early elements of the games and use the chaos emeralds to introduce some characters like Chaos or Shadow for the third movie. -Angel Island looks amazing

Mortal Kombat dropped the ball. Resident Evil dropped the ball. Tomb Raider dropped the ball. All of those already have rich narratives and should have been great, but here is little Sonic showing them how it's done. And the thing is, Sonic isn't a 1:1 retelling of any Sonic game, it's got lots of human characters, takes all kinds of creative liberties, and it's STILL great... because it embodies the playful spirit of the character and games so well. Can't wait for Sonic 2!

It's nice of them to ask the voice actress that has been the voice of tails in the games since 2014 to voice Tails in the movie. They have a mix of everything. And Idris Elba sounds great as Knuckles. And Jim Carrey is portraying Robotnik with that wacky energy he had way back in his early movies lie Ace Ventura and especially The Mask. Eggman requires an actor that can be a living cartoon and Jim Carrey is that actor.
