  • Chum Mey is one of the only 7 people, that survived Tuol Sleng a terrible Cambodian prison from the Khmer Rouge era. He is 87 now and I feel very lucky being able to meet him and to listen to his story. Despite the many tortures that he was subjected to at this prison - he is a very calm and forgiving person.

I met Chum Mey in 2016. A beautiful soul with kind eyes. He still goes to Tuol Sleng almost everyday to share his story.

Were it possible, this one would like to travel to Phnom Penh to meet Chum Mey, and to give him a kind hug for his courage, endurance and will to survive against all odds during the terrible Khmer Rouge regime that took his family and countless innocent lives. You were very fortunate to meet such a wonderful man during one of the darkest periods of Cambodia and the world in inhumanity towards mankind.

The prisoner #8 seemed to have the look of defeat and fear combined that reflected the feelings of all prisoners at S 21
Sad that Saloth Sar never faced justice for his crimes

Him and many others did not answer for their crimes...

@@ZyciewKanadzieAnitaBeataVlog true. And the irony is that the man put in charge was a Khmer Rouge
Many did not face justice since it was felt forgiveness was more important than to continue the nightmare
