When I was working in Japan I made heart shaped cookies for everyone I worked with on valentine's day because I thought that was Japanese culture. Then on white day I got nothing back, I think I still don't understand valentine's day in Japan 😅
Chocolates have a long shelf life as long as it's stored properly i.e. packaging, temperature. Most retail chocolates have a best by date rather than an expiration date. If it looks fine, smells fine and taste fine, it's probably safe to eat.
In Finland February 14th is Friendship day. A day where you celebrate your friends by just hanging out with them and telling them how much you appreciate them. Give them cards and such. No pressure or anything. So basically "Thank you for being a friend". Showing love to your loved ones you can do all year round.
The High School (in Germany) I graduated from a few years ago has a similar tradition. Every year, a week before Valentine's Day, Seniors sell Roses with a note attached to them. You basically pay them 2€, get the note attached to the rose, either write down your confession or nothing at all and on Valentine's Day the Seniors go from class to class and hand out the Roses :)
in Poland, in my high school, we have valentine's cards, there was box few days before, where you can put envelope with person name and class, student body spread it on Valentine's Day, nobody know what was inside except the addressee. It was cool because it wasn't so embarrassing.
When i was in primary school on Valentines day we used to write cards or love letters and one person was colecting all of them to give it to the person it belong to. It was so much pressure „Am I gonna get one?” Or When you send something to someone you really liked what is he/she going to do? So in school it was like the day to let your crush know you like them. But now When im an adult i feel its more about celebrateing your love with your bf/gf ☺️ I’m from Poland btw
Theresa is so funny I'm looking forward to see more videos with her! Welcome! Also Ryo and his story about 20 chocolates... I relate to this on a spiritual level.
Chocolate does go bad, especially milk chocolate. I'm sad to say that this has happened to me, rip hersheys bar I forgot about for a month in my fridge. You are missed.
Every year my Mom buys my Dad a cheesy stuffed animal that sings a song. It's their own personal tradition and they've been doing it for fifteen years or so. It's something that me and my sisters really like - it's cool seeing your parents still love each other after all these years.
When she spoke about getting candy from the guys she didn't want to, I really felt for them. I could easily imagine me sending some to her and the next day she would say "It was really nice" with her mouth and "Please, please for all that is sacred don't ever do it again" with her eyes.
We have singing candy grams here in the US at my school. Write down the name and class, and they come in with a whole mini band to serenade whoever you sent it to. You could write in miscellaneous or with your name.
Congrats on the new member. 👍 I've gotta comment a bit on chocolate. While it doesn't really go "Bad", it can oxidize. It alters the flavor just slightly, but the biggest difference is the texture and color. You can tell it's oxidized when the chocolate has a more milky color like hot chocolate and is sort of flakey on the outside.
Okayyy, this is the best uwaga pies video I've been watching all this time.. Theresa is soo cool, and ryoo, your hair is soo much better than previous video hahaha look much cuter.. The "shyness" segment is very amusing too haha nice to know that.. 😂😂😂
In the UK valentines day when you're younger you send a secret card to your crush, if you're brave you hint who you are or you just put a "?". I feel like when you get older valentines day here is just celebrated by couples already dating and usually they go out for a meal, exchange gifts and cards or go for a valentines getaway weekend.
i'd always heard White Day for guys in Japan, they gave stationary back to the girls. like, envelopes, paper, or cookies. not that the guys gave chocolates. there's even White Day sales in Japanese department stores for guys to get 'special stationary' and little pre-bagged cookies in... multi-pack form... and of course that 'special tin' of cookies for that 'special girl' so they could respond to THE ONE! yep. i'd heard the giri giri obligatory chocolate thing a long time ago. the 'hand made' chocolate for the girls was for that 'special guy' and they'd make that ONE GIFT by hand. but the girichoco was just a piece or two of pre-wrapped chocolate from a big bag or even just a normal candy-bar. there's one GREAT and VERY historical article i read once on the ACTUAL HISTORY of Valentine's Day in Japan. for the life of me i can't remember where it was or i'd link it for everybody. basically, post WW2 the confection industry in Japan was going downhill fast. so companies and advertisers got together and MADE UP VALENTINE'S DAY TRADITIONS FOR JAPAN! more and more young women were entering the workforce in Japan back then and 'Western Stuff' was getting more and more cool. so to make money off these newly minted 'salary-women' the advertising industry and candy/chocolate industries STARTED THE WHOLE THING! that's probably why Ryo says 'older couples/people don't celebrate Valentine's Day in Japan' since it's just a commercial conspiracy from when his parent's generation was young. after all that pressure as kids to 'buy buy buy' for V Day and so on; the 'baby boomers' in Japan just might have gotten entirely sick of it and... maybe ignore it? :D
4 ppl on 1 channel - wow! For me this is great, cuz u will be able to upload even more often than usual !! And I love Teresa, u are just great! With Ryo I could watch you two all my life long!! (No kidding.) PS Sorry for bad English. :C
It's like that in the US too. Once a month starts with a holiday in it, stores are stocked with decorations and things for that holiday. It's a capitalist, consumerist thing.
In our high school in Germany we also had a tradition, where you could buy chocolate santas for someone and put a note in it. The problem was that the person that received it had to do something goofy in front of the class. Luckily nobody ever bought one for me so I didn't have to do anything embarrassing 😄
I've always been curious about the HISTORY of V.Day in Japan. I've heard from several folks that it was basically 'made up' by chocolate and candy companies in the 1950's and 60's. also, I'd never heard White Day reciprocation gifts were chocolates for guys. I'd heard it was stationary for obligatory gifts and cookies for the girl the guy really 'liked'.
My mother always bought chocolates for the house on Valentine's Day, and in elementary and middle school it was common for everyone in the class to bring some kind of sweet to give everyone, like a little party. But once your older unless you have a significant other the holiday is entirely irrelevant. (Unless... you just use it as an excuse to buy an unreasonable amount of chocolate that's on sale now or some other kind of food and watch RUclips videos and anime alone in a corner like I do... LOL my internet isn't going to be on for Valentine's day, good thing I have the entire series of Soul Eater on DVD, I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I live in America BTW.)😂😢
Valentines day story. I was a high school freshman (9th grade) and very single (no one wanted to date me) and I had a very close friend who was a hidden lesbeain and she and her girlfriend wanted was wanting to go on a romantic date one Valentines day but due to the town we lived in at that time there was a good chance someone would have attacked them and hurt them. So my friend asked me to go with them so that it could look like just three friends were just handing out. The whole time we were together we would go to the areas full of lovers and happy couples. they acted like i was not there (which was fine with me) so I was the very lonely, very sad. and very single lady at all these romantic spots just staring at all the happy people....I made myself a cake when I got home and vowed to never spend Valentines day like that ever again.......... ( it happened for 4 more years till they graduated and left town)
lmao here in America at least in my school we don't celebrate Valentine's day. I forgot about it, i mean the last time I celebrated that was in 4th grade. Lived in the suburbs with stores kinda far away so it's not like I saw any decorations or pink chocolates.
Kilka lat temu tak bardzo spodobała mi się ta tradycja robienia czekoladek przez dziewczyny, że od 4 lat co rok w walentynki robię własne dla mojego chłopaka i teraz to moja tradycja
..hi... ehhh actually chocolates do go bad... but takes at least a year or so,,, you can tell by the ittlw white like area's that look more like its dry?// not like fungus... you wont get sick or anything .. but like cookies in a tin.container .. just taste crumbly or stale... usually if you get like discount mars/snickers bars at a dollar store.. with a misprint on the package..or close to expire date.. you see the white dry-like spots...

TUBS ARE NOT COMMON in alot of these apartments. the walls and ceiling are all tiled and there's a drain in the center of the floor. you shower using a hose and shower head connected to either it's own hot n cold water faucet or connected to the sink. if you wanna soak in a tub you go to a local public bath-house. u bring your goodies, pay at the entrance, boys n girls go separate, everybody changes their street clothes, and goes into the wash areas and just bathes and soaks naked among all the other naked folks. of course, if you are a couple or have kids apartments get bigger, or you want a tub you get an even bigger apartment. but there's houses and stuff too. Beffinee they're so lame 😂

Very strange. Usually if you get them choco then they give you back on 14th.
May be because you are not japanese so people just ignored you.
"Chocolates don't go bad Bro!" :D
TRUE! But maybe he was worried about being eaten .. I certainly can't keep in the house a chocolate more than a day, haha!

수연 we do that in America too. One school I went did lollipops instead of roses.
We have something similar in Poland too, but I remember people to be too embarrassed to take part 😂
The Lollipop one's such a cute idea!
Hahaha I understand them totally >.
in Poland, in my high school, we have valentine's cards, there was box few days before, where you can put envelope with person name and class, student body spread it on Valentine's Day, nobody know what was inside except the addressee. It was cool because it wasn't so embarrassing.

Chocolate will go bad, but it does take some time.....it gets a cloudy sheen on it.....the oils in it oxidise.
It's like that in the US too. Once a month starts with a holiday in it, stores are stocked with decorations and things for that holiday. It's a capitalist, consumerist thing.
In where I'm from in Canada, we'll have Valentine Day stuff as early as right after Christmas - sometimes even before 😝🤦
Ryo be my Valentine
He have a girfriend :v
I know... it's heartbreaking
In US. This year I saw Valentine's Stuff out on December 30th.

J Noel you were a very nice friend. I'm pretty sure they will still remember your sacrifice.
I was pretty happy to see that Ebina clip
i love this new girl XD

Sorry Josh
Kilka lat temu tak bardzo spodobała mi się ta tradycja robienia czekoladek przez dziewczyny, że od 4 lat co rok w walentynki robię własne dla mojego chłopaka i teraz to moja tradycja
What weird language is that? You should write English!
Erica Rose I dont need to because Kasia can read and speak polish so she will understand ;)
But what about the rest of us? Less than 1% of people can read Poleish.
Erica Rose What's "Poleish"?
That's the language that Poles speak, people from Poland. Duh!
I feel your pain Ryo. When I was in my freshman year of high school I was dating a Junior and I always felt so awkward.
..hi... ehhh actually chocolates do go bad... but takes at least a year or so,,, you can tell by the ittlw white like area's that look more like its dry?// not like fungus... you wont get sick or anything .. but like cookies in a tin.container .. just taste crumbly or stale... usually if you get like discount mars/snickers bars at a dollar store.. with a misprint on the package..or close to expire date.. you see the white dry-like spots...
Hello Theresa! Love you already ♥
Hello! Love you too
The strange thing about holidays in Japan, is that only Western holidays are big, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween. Young kids do t celebrate Japanese holidays like Tanabata at all. At all! Is there so cold atmosphere in your office that you have to use bulb behind your "asssses"? :D
Where did you get that bear hoodie? I need it lol.
Wait why don't most people have an oven there? Is it just because of the generally hotter/more humid climate, or is there some other reason?

Chocolate doesnt go bad bro, hahaha that was good.
I was informed that it actually does?!?! (but not in a month lol Ryo)
What happens, especially with giri-choco, if someone has a chocolate allergy?
Here in California, we had candy-grams at my high school for just about every holiday, but condom-grams for Valentine’s Day! Many people would send those to friends as a joke.
What really LOL
i would love to see Sabrina on the show sometime soon
The way ryo look at theresa I think he likes her😊
I'm sad they have to go through this insane and unfair pressure! It seems really unfair!
'cause they melt sweetie - that's when I tapped that like icon.

So what you saying is basically nobody cooks in Japan except the occasional Best Buy cookies they make 😂
I want Kasia back 😭
Już ją uwielbiam 😁
Chocolate can go bad (especially milk chocolate), but it takes a lot longer than one month.
I love her! XD
Theresa ♥️
My Japanese G.Mom saw me making a Valentines card with chocolate for a girl I liked when I was young and she said "No, no, Bobby son girl giva you chocolate. " I thought she was confused and kind of shrugged it off..now I know. lol She wasn't big on explanations💘
The question is could you make two chocolates and eat one and give one away😂😅
