1633 from Ireland to America. The story of a forbidden Scottish Irish romance. Built the first documented brick dwelling in what would become Virginia in what would become the USA. Awe inspired by my roots :)

My Ancestors came to America in the 1600's from both Ireland and Scotland. I always find it interesting that when in today's world you are curious about how to obtain either Irish or UK(Scots) Citizenship or Residency 'through' your Ancestry (citizenship by descent) to one or both of those countries, that in many cases the most 'published' way is 'through ancestry of a parent or grandparent'. How is it that some of the oldest, traceable, proveable families in all of Great Britain as far as Ancestry goes- are not 'eligible' for Citizenship or Residency in either of those places in 2023, because our families LEFT there and came to America and other North American Countries such as Canada, Nova Scotia, etc. as early as the 1600's, so of course we have no Parent or Grandparent in recent times to gain this through, we have ancient dna, our great great great great grandparents left Ireland, Scotland, Wales, centuries ago and we have the DNA and Geneologiacal Family records to prove who we are and who our ancestors were, but yet, people who have vague, sometimes not so proveable, traceable Irish or UK history through geneology can 'qualify' to go and become Irish or UK citizens or claim residency because they have parents or grandparents that just recently came to other countries?.... This does not make common sense. If anyone has helpful , relevant information on this subject, please feel free to share positively with all . ~Thank you
