from personal experience, it wiggles/stutters because you are too close. its meant for a living room setup (good distance from the tv. when you get too close to the sensor bar it starts going crazy
That is what I was thinking to at first. Same position with the original ones and they fake ones keep going all crazy. Maybe they just use low quality parts in the fake remotes making it less accurate ?
Did this with my wii several years ago. Had a lot of fun with it. Its still working, but now its back in the box and I bought me a wii u to soft mod in the future. 😊
Thankfully I still have the Wii I got way back in 2007 so I'm set. Even got high quality component cables from HD Retrovision (my HDTV's old enough to have component)
Yeah they are cheap to buy and easy to softmod now. Did see many tutorials I did wonder what they where selling there in china. I'm kinda annoyed with a couple of things... 😅
What's nice with the Wii is it's one of the last consoles with 480P component output. It would pair nice with a retro CRT monitor setup. PS3 and 360 also have component video but much bigger and louder consoles and more work to mod.
Yup, we need premium remotes for that money. Or they grab original ones that they cleaned up... everything is better then this fake remote crap. Did like the game cube controller. 😅
Love my modded Wii. Haven't played emulation on it but for original Wii, Gamecube, WiiWare and Virtual Console games it works perfectly. Though 256gb is hardly anything. when it comes to storing original Wii games, Gamecube, WiiWare, Virtual Console and all the emulator/roms you want to play. For my system I use 2.5" 2tb portable USB drives and they play all the games without any problems.
That’s what I’ve done instead. I’ve bought on temu, with coupons and discounts, a mini pc with a Ryzen 7 5700U, 16 gb 3200mhz ddr4 and a 1 tb 2280 nvme for 104€… and that was a steal. 😂 I’ve attached a 4:3 monitor and I’m using it only for emulation of Ps2, Wii and GameCube. I think that those mini pc’s are getting more and more diffused and cheaper and they’re becoming the best emulation devices with the great integrated Radeon graphics. However the interface itself is just great and I really love it and want to see it ported over emulation station maybe.
@WickedGamerCollector yeah see? Something like that would be perfect. Granted I just ordered my first PC in over 12+ years and the 12TB Kinhank game drive so I won't be needing it, but if I saw a package like this with a bigger drive in it already setup with games I'd buy it just to have easy use of the Nintendo Wii titles, I imagine setting up the motion controls for emulation is a nightmare. 😄👍
£199 for a free softmod you can do on any wii in 5 minutes, plus time to install the games/dl that pack (or better). Okay plus maybe £70 in h/w, Wii included is a bit steep for me. TBF I have been considering a clear case and led's so I can scan the gamelist in style while futiliy trying not to pick the same 5 games......
@@WickedGamerCollector I'm with you, but they can be under £10. I get spending a little money for pre-assembly. Especially if it's a hard/new mod. I might go £199 with an internal hdmi or hdd mod. As a thought, adding a usb hdd for any missing wii/gc/psx etc games is a doddle.
@@Jerome-C Nah, wiiflow is free software. A google search will net you a prebuilt sd image. The case £10 maybe, same with the controllers, the hdmi dongle..... Literally £2. The price for saving the hassle/an hour for a softmod anyone with internet can do, not including the sd card etch/file copy is too high. £50 off is maybe reasonable. Especially considering those aren't bulk buying prices. That said...... Having had ready access to one for nearly a decade, same/similar mod, get one. I qlways thought inwouldnt be able to figure it out, but now i can get a Wii modded like this within an hour easily and it costs me nothing 😅
Yeah, the wii is super cheap so if you mod it you have it for a fraction of the cost. For me the fact it was a complete with and modded case was kinda cool. Only downside is the fake remotes... and couple other things.
For sure, there is definitely a market for this kind of thing, so I get the appeal. I'm not a big fan of clear shells on electronics, though, unless it's more of a frosted plastic or the electronics inside are actually cool to look at. Anything with a metal plate (Wii, oroginal XBOX, GBA SP, etc...) i don't like seeing.
If you break the total cost down of all the components, yes 200USD sounds a lot. However, for people who don’t already have the modding knowledge and their time (to learn and experiment) is more precious than a couple of hundred dollars, I totally get it. The guy said in the video that he just wanted a plug and play solution, so all these comments telling him he wasted his money are a bit redundant.
Those wii lithium battery packs seem to be really difficult to actually get. i ordered them from 5 different sellers in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and they never shipped them. Had to file claim to get refund on each one. Annoying!
Buy an old wii, can even get one with bad dvd drive super cheap as you can run games from sd or usb. tons of guides to do this to a wii and its fairly easy. save tons of money
The term 'Sensor bar' is misleading. The 'Sensor' is actually in the WiiMote not in the 'Sensor bar'. The bar only contains IR LEDs which the WiiMote picks up. Which is why you can just use two candles in it's place. Secondly. The sensitivity of the WiiMote has to be set up to stabilise the pointer on the screen. Which he didn't show.
I see a lot of people "laughing" about the $200 price tag. You do realize you payed that much for 3 video games don't you? Not a console with hundreds or thousands of those games already loaded into it. For many people finding a thing like this for $200 is special, granted if it doesn't have at least 95% of each console it runs already found for you then it's time to be a little mad as opposed to laughing. 😅👍
Just get an original wii and mod it yourself for $0. I did mine years ago and have it attached to a 1TB hdd and I picked up a Wii classic controller for 20 bucks. Mainly I got a Wii to play Ghost Squad, awesome game!
theres gameboy and gameboy advanced emulatora for it that run flawless. same dev team who made the zsnes and fceultra one i beleive. you can add those and it will run great
Let's see here in Toronto Canada a typical wii with alot of accessories and a few games 4 nunchucks 4 wiimote maybe a gamecube controller(s) goes for $100 CAD, HDMI adaptor new $5 , 256GB SD card $20 (or a 2TB USB EXT for $80) for the extra money saves I could go buy Duracell 2xAA rechargeable batteries a good HDMI cable to make it for way less that 200 Euros.......
Robbed .... would not say it like that. I know wii is cheap... case is cheap. Wanted to see what you get for 200usd. Most horrible part are those fake remotes 😂
@WickedGamerCollector I appreciate your reviews/tutorials. It really helps people like myself who don't know much about this stuff. Because of your videos, I was able to narrow it down and make a decision on what works best for me. And also, your videos helped me to watch for what to avoid and watch for the scams. Wrong the seller lost money actually. The Wii with 2 controllers and nunchucks is $100, HDMI adapter $10, 512gb micro SD card $40 both GameCube remotes $25 plus he offered free shipping. I swear people say anything without doing any research. I've modded hundreds of Wii's in my 20 years of console soft mods. I would never use it for emulation like he said but for GameCube and Wii I use Wiiflow. My setup is 1200 USA Wii games and 575 GameCube games on a portable 5tb Western Digital. The drive new is $130 so he definitely wasn't robbed
my mate was running the letterb exploit and had some stability issues. im guessing it has to due with the usb or sdcard. it would work for awhile then would get corrupted now and then. had to keep a backup copy on hand
@WickedGamerCollector well, the Wii covers more than a decade of Nintendo history, is readily available and easy to mod; it is interesting. I keep two units in good condition just to introduce my son to video games in a few years and also just ordered a blue translucent case 😁
