    Hike Notes
Titcomb basin is a true alpine gem of the Wind River Range. In fact, it is highly regarded as one of the most popular backpacking itineraries of the Winds. Indeed the Titcomb basin landscape matches very closely the idea/archetype of the high alpine basin. A long beautiful valley dotted by mountain lakes and streams, meadows and giant boulders with very sparse vegetation (no trees) leading to a perfect glacier circle with a still existing glacier (although unfortunately rapidly shrinking). The basin is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and imposing peaks of the range. Nothing is missing. Great alpine beauty in full display.
As my ankle injury slowed me down and changed/affected my initial plans for this trip, I had the opportunity to enjoy Titcomb basin a little longer than initially planned. I fully enjoyed the amazing experience by walking up and down and across the basin for a good amount of time.
Surprisingly, despite being mid August, I only met a handful of other hikers/backpackers and I was able to camp in solitude. An additional perk which I really enjoyed!.
Titcomb basin is a place I want to go back to again to spend more time camping and possibly combining that with other hiking activities (Fremont Peak, Knapsack Col, a visit to Mistake Lake, etc.).

Hi Michael, long time no comments on each other videos... I just figured out you have a couple of new postings. I guess I was out on the trails when you posted them. Very interested in your Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness video (the place has been in my bucket list for a long time). I am sure it will be outstanding! I will enjoy it later tonight or tomorrow.
Yeah, Mt. Hooker was on fire that morning at Baptiste Lake. Despite the very strong relentless winds I truly enjoyed the evening and morning there! A couple of more videos to come about the Winds... I loved it out there. Thanks for watching!

Hi Jennifer, we have chosen a video style/format where the main focus is to show the landscape of a particular hike or backpacking trip with no commentary. We provide information about the hike and the area/wilderness in the video description page. Also in the description page you are going to find my comments about the trip in the Hike notes section. I will post the link to the map itinerary in the next few days. Thank you.
