  • Swords function as tools, weapons of combat, and ceremonial objects. The various forms found in the Philippines reveal stories about the lives, struggles, and dreams of their wielders. Let’s hear a few of them-drawn from examples from the museum’s ethnographic collection.

    ATIN is an original production of the Ayala Foundation Arts and Culture Division made up of the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library. The series tells the story of the Filipino through images and videos of Ayala Museum's archaeological, ethnographic, fine arts, historical, and numismatic collections and FHL's archival and documentary holdings.

    It's not exclusive to the Moro, a large but straight kris was dug up in Bohol, but in Bisaya it is called Kalis.

      Yep, finally someone notices it. Another example was drawn by alcina in his book historias de bisayas, where a cpuple of people are seemingly dancing. There you can find a man with a sword in his left of what seems to be a kalis shaped scabbard

      Furthermore, theoretically, even the Kingdom of luzon might possibly even had these, but only might be closer in size to the malay ones(dagger kriss), since rajas of manila tondo and pampanga stong connections and relationships with borneo and malacca
