I think I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn't read the book. The book is pretty much a completely different story and it's amazing. The audiobook of it is done by a star filled cast, highly recommend.
The book could have made a great miniseries, but wasn’t really going to translate well into a feature film. Especially not with a Hollywood A lister on board. Since the anthology of stories were basically entirely disconnected from each other.
Pretty great movie. I love the scene on the edge of the roof of the apartments, just how it shows how well he is thinking through everything, and his loving devotion to his family over himself.
Btw, talkin' 'bout zombies (walking, not swimming) in the sea, and sharks......watch Lucio Fulci's ''Zombie'' (1979)!!! One of the most incredible scenes ever put on film!
8:21 in the film "Land of the Dead"from 2005, the zombies walked on the bottom of the ocean to get off an island, they don't have to hold their breath. that's a scary thought. this is a cool film, i haven't played the game yet, my fav zombie game is Left4Dead 2. another great reaction! 👍
Fun fact: The whole sequence when the walls of Israel are breached was originally 20 minutes longer. The sequence was edited, all the CGI was in place and at the last moment a big chuck was cut. It remains the most expensive deleted scene in movie history.
This movie motivated me to work out. Because The Walking Dead, I could survive. But THESE track star, Olympic zombies scared the bejeezus out of me. Especially since I saw it in 3D.
I love this movie, and there were talks of a Sequel, but it was cancelled 5 years ago, due to the onset drama between Brad Pitt and Director Marc Forster, who wouldn't stop butting heads during filming.
i know!! i gotta say.. the way i see things going on now? where goverments all over the world are trying their best to terminate small to medium farms.. they are prepering us for something.. like not be able to self-sustain.. and then boom! cut the food supply for a year.. we wouldn't need a virus to trigger us.. only hunger
@@MJoy4Fun ooohh!! Now your speaking my language! Self sustainability, and personal agriculture, definitely! Your exactly right! Perhaps covid, was just the beginning!!??
@@MichaelHolt-k2j oh yes yes! i see the pattern. they tested us through Covid. like a simulation. if u see someone starting building huge fences around a large perimeter, RUN! run from that place as far as u can!
I respect this film because its not a conventional zombie film. The virus acts like a virus. No one is being eaten, its just about transmission, the most effective being a bite directly into the blood stream. The virus also becomes more virulent over time from days, possibly hours, minutes to seconds. Then it seeks a healthy host to infect for further transmittance and replication.
Was literally watching an analysis on this movie an hour ago omg. Great coincidence! :) This film had my anxiety high the whole time. Like imagine being in this type of zombie apocalypse. It feels so hopeless. Highly underrated movie, great zombie film!
I couldn't recommend highly enough! another Clint Eastwood movie which also! he directed and produced, titled: "Millon Dollar Baby" made in 2004.This movie will stay with you well after the credits have rolled. I get a chilly feeling just thinking about it!. Cheers!✌️❤️❤️
Still got the book digitally printed and got the game, I enjoy the game but most will say otherwise lol my friends and I beat the game on the hardest mode and damn is it hard
I think about zombie movies the way Joy thinks. I found them very absurd to be entertaining to me. But like 15 years ago or so they started to rethink them as the "pandemic" approach, the notion of a disease is much more terrifying and realistic, specially after the real pandemic none of us would thought would live to see it. This one is very good and realistic regarding how governments and normal people would react in the real case. Great video as always guys! 🤗
yeah. for me gotta be bcuz of 7 Days To Die. played that game since 2012. and it stuck with me. i wouldn't love zombies as a concept.. but the terrifying idea of being alone.. no food.. everyone is either dead or turn into a zombie.. u go scavanging for the last remaining can of goods.. and run from zombies.. that thing don't look to SCI fi to me!
In the original book, the zombies walk along the bottom of the ocean and other bodies of water. In the aftermath of the zombie outbreak (which lasted 10 years) there was another 10 year long cleanup effort. One of the jobs available was going down to the ocean floor in an armored suit and clearing zombies by hand. Another horrible job involved going into the Paris catacombs, which was unmapped and partially submerged, and clearing them out of the undercity. EDIT: I just wanted to note that the timeline in the movie makes no sense. How did the Israelis have time to build a wall, didn't this just happen like yesterday? How is a military base in Korea having time to send a memo and then go dark, again, didn't this just happen yesterday? This is because in the book, the first victims of the outbreak happen 3 years prior to the mass outbreak that the movie is showing. The thing gradually escalates with governments around the world trying to stop it for that entire time, and by the point of the mass collapse of society, many nations are engaged in some kind of contingency plan aimed at surviving the outbreak.
the zombie will have a heart attack trying to jump on me.. i am waaaay too louder when i am scared!! jokes aside.. i used to catch rabbits with snares in my youth.. had hard winters here. and i am decent at planting crops.. =)))))))

Pretty great movie.
I love the scene on the edge of the roof of the apartments, just how it shows how well he is thinking through everything, and his loving devotion to his family over himself.
Mirielle Enos is such a good actress. I saw her with Joel Kinnaman in the series, The Killing. So bleak, so good!
The Killing was so so good- should’ve gotten more attention (and seasons lol)
She may be a good actress but her character in this movie was annoying and selfish and got people killed.
