with all the R&D going into sports related tech, I applaud you for taking on the challenge of helping people simply live their lives in dignity. I pray to be able to own this innovation some day.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Sir. However the credits should go to Dean Kamen (inventor of the Segway and our hero). We are just trying to make the unique Segway experience available to as many people as possible, and to overcome the physical limitations of each individual person who wants to enjoy this experience. We are constantly evolving our product and we will never stop doing this. We plan to launch one more edition of the Sui Generis Seat which will be available at a significantly lower price with the same construction quality--so stay tuned!
@@SegwayThessaloniki how are you coming along on that cheaper version? And I wish we was able to get the price of the Segway down to make it more affordable for those that have a hard time stretching their disability checks.
Great to see people thinking outside the box! Balance safety (training or stability) wheels are essential. Too easy to demonstrate with a fit and youthful operator. Try showing the device with a partially parallelized (lower or upper body) and overweight rider.
Sui Generis seat is not a device that can be used by people over 98 kg (not recommended if you want your Segway "healthy" for a long time). If you like to hear from users, please go to the website www.suigenerisseat.com and visit the reviews section. Thank you for your comment.
i hope this becomes available to use in the UK legally. You seem to have overcome the braking issue but it would still have to be able to be limited to 4mph in pedestrian areas and 8mph max speed to get UK approvable but that would give you access to a large UK market. I really hope you try.
+Leon WP Thank you for you comment. The top speed of a segway can be limited at any speed (between 4mph and 12.5 mph) from the infokey. Instructions of the operation are free at segway's user's manual.
How many know that the Segway was a originally Wheelchair Tech? The Segway was made to help offset the prohibited cost of the 20k Wheelchair back in the late 80's cost.
When will we see a price that isn't set to what the market will pay? By accountants /bloodsuckers I didn't ask to lose mobility, I can't work, so not able to pay the asking price. so do I have to ask for "crowdfunding" to be able to move on uneven terrain? Can we not work for the common good sometimes? Rather than what we have in our culture today.... just saying
We can assure you that the price reflects the quality of construction, and the research and development behind our seat's features. The Sui Generis seat is not the cheapest but it certainly offers the greatest value for money. Stay tuned! We are about to launch a crowdfunding campaign in order to secure the funds for mass production. This will lower the price by around $1,000 or more.
I can assure you I don't want the Rolls Royce quality, just a functional chair at a realistic cost, this " the price reflects the quality of construction," etc. is standard commercial BS sir, sorry if that is offensive to anyone..........

You can purchase a Segway locally since it will be much cheaper than to get it from us shipped in Belgium. I am writing the answer to your mail now, with details about sources for purchasing a segway in Belgium including tips for choosing a reliable used unit for even lower cost of the total device.
Gostaria de adquirir esta cadeira The improved Sui Generis Buddy Seat. Sou de Brasil onde posso contatar para saber o preço, assistência técnica aqui no Brasil.
Hi Pablo. Unfortunately, for the momment, we can't afford a segway platform for you. If you find a segway, we have a fully refubrished old seat, that we can send it to you. Thats all we can afford for the momment. We are new in to gear production, started with zero capital in one of the most hostile countries to do business. We are working hard to grow bigger, one seat at a time. When ever this will change, you will be the first to know. Lets keep in touch. Please send us a mail at george@suigenerisseat.com
Anyone living on disability income would not ever be able to afford one of these. So saying that you are working hard to make these available to as many people as possible is just marketing masturbation
+Marty Lemons I'm sorry that you have to use this language to make your statement. Unfortunately segways are not cheap and the amount of money needed for research and development to create a seat like the Sui Generis is quite big for a Greek. I would love to help you build your own seat for free if you have a segway and I mean that. I'm also sure that you must know that there are many more self balancing wheelchairs in half price. They are just based in Chinese segway copies and they do not have the features of the Sui Generis seat.
If you like to seat on a Segway there are many ways. From low cost DIY projects to high cost Segway wheelchairs that look awesome. SuiGeneris Seat is not the cheapest Segway seat in the market. However it has more than 60% lower price than the most expencive. And it is the only one that gives all these features together. Its about value for money ;-)
George S It's good but worth about $2500+seg, Genny is worth $4000+seg, segsolutions is worth $800, Blumil is worth $1500. I built a DIY model with fancy powered actuators for $800. The lower the price the higher sales would get.
+Hesam0000 We agree with you about the need for lower prices but we think that you are not familiar with the latest prices of the products you've noticed. Genny can reach up to 20.000$ (segway included), Blumil costs 3.650$ and a Segsolutions with backrest and handlebars will cost you around 2.000 (without any actuators). We still believe that the Sui Generis Seat has great value for money. All the Segway seats around the world are great products that became reality after long hours of working (unpaid) and a lot of money (that eventually must return) for research and development. Its up to the customer to deside wich one has the best functionability combined with economical value. Thanks for the comment dear friend :-)
I know exactly what the sellers are asking for them and I also know how many they've sold. In GENNY's case they're asking ridiculous 18000 pounds and they've only sold to 15-20 friends nearby in Europe, Blumil was $1800 and the seller upgraded the foot-plate and added hand-rail(my suggestion to him) and raised the price to $3650. I'm still waiting to see 1 sold at that price from the videos people post. Segsolutions which is nothing but a no-sensor-operation, no-stand seat-cushion sold for $750/short and $1000/tall then the owner finally added backsupport(my suggestion to him) and footrest and raised the prices a few hundred. The fact is you can price these $50,000 but the seller doesn't price their merchandise in real-world, the buyers and the market does. When the buyers can't afford $12000-$25000 cash for a wheelchair, which includes 99% of users, it doesn't matter how high they're priced at. Its the manufacturers' choice to take the Walmart route or the Bloomingdale's route. Walmart sells for less and grows none-stop to thousands, the other sells for more and down to 43 stores after closings. The cost to build something like SuiG. is about $2000+-. If you settle on $1000 gain and sell at $3000 then your model will have preference over the market and trust me, users find bargains like ants find food. Anyway goodluck.
+Hesam0000 You are very pationate about the idea of sitting on Segways and very well informed also. And you are absolutely right about the low cost-more sells rule. There is a number of factors that you should consider as well such as Paypal fees and taxes (in Greece. Google it and you will feel very happy to live at your country). Thank you for your comments and if you have any suggestion for us to, do not hesitate to contact George@suigenerisseat.com
