Hi Kevin! I've been enjoying your videos. I've been doing ecom seo for 6 years and had good success. However I want to become a fractional CMO. What would be your advice? My CMO friend thinks I need to work in a business first as a CMO assistant or something in order to establish credibility first. Wondering what your thoughts are
It’s hard to know without knowing the breadth of your skills/experience in the other channels. To be a fractional CMO, you need to have a working knowledge of all relevant channels plus the ability to allocate and manage resources across them. Most marketing managers or agency operators who do multi-channel work would develop these skillsets. As long as you understand how things work, can manage a budget, find good people, and produce profitable business results (the thing that matters most) there should be nothing stopping you from being able to do FCMO work for the right client.
I appreciate your content, could you record it whilst not driving please.
