I've always enjoyed Mr Hugh Fraser's narration of Hercules Poirot stories. Indeed Mr Fraser 's voice is so English n smooth to listen in! I reckoned in this story however, Sir, Mr Fraser's voice sounded alittle lower in comparison to his previous story-telling. Perhaps in one's voice have the tendency to change alittle in ageing maturity related. Nevertheless, it would not change my opinion in Mr Fraser's talent in pleasantry! Best compliment always! Take care all!🙏✝️🙏🇸🇬🙏

In an age of hyper-opinions, they are often made when unnecessary. The quality of this recording is just fine. The clarity is good. The quality is excellent. I don’t think that your work had flaws. Perhaps Mr. Fraser, an impressive actor, lowered his tone. Your work is greatly appreciated by your listeners. Thank you. Best wishes.
I noticed it too. This wasn’t a criticism, but just an observation on your part and I agree. But what I think, is that this has been slowed down slightly. I changed the speed to 1.25% and it sounded a little more normal, but perhaps a little too fast. I notice that a lot of stories which are intended for people whose first language is not British, have been slowed down slightly, so that it’s easier to understand. I personally don’t like Hugh Frasers voice slowed down, so I will go and find this story elsewhere, but I think it’s useful for other people. I’m very glad to have a huge variety of different Agatha Christie recordings available. I always have one on repeat while I sleep! They work very well, as long as someone hasn’t put really loud music in the middle. 😂😂😂
A Christmas pudding, also known as plum pudding ( not necessarily containing plums🤣) is a rich confection made some weeks before Christmas containing mostly dried fruit, and some alcohol, steamed in a bowl for hours and then reheated before serving, and often, with more alcohol poured over it, set alight on presentation at the table. It is served with a rum/brandy cream sauce or rum/brandy butter. Yum!
It's called a "fruit cake" here in the U.S. my mother in law, from England, began soaking and chopping just as you described until just in time for Christmas dinner. She made a side sauce that she called brandy butter to be served with the cake, on the side or on top. Made this way, the Christmas cake is delicious, to the Americans reading here-- and nothing like the hard as a brick ready made "fruit cakes" sold in stores. Not at all the same.
The English Heritage channel has a video showing the making of plum pudding with some interesting additional information. One can easily find it by searching for: Mrs Crocombe plum pudding It's a very enjoyable series for anyone interested in Victorian age cookery.
Whst a beautiful Christmas tree. Lovely story. Thank you. Happy Christmas to all. ❤ Great story teller's voice and accents ❤
Bundle of Thanks to you! 💝
The incomparable voice of Hugh Fraser . No one reads Christie better. 👏👏👍
I just love the picture of that most beautiful room
✨❤️
🇬🇧 this is my favourite story along with The Moving Finger.
I adore the artwork of that beautiful room. Only thinking of the heat loss through that lovely huge window.
Imagine it has triple glasing
It's an AI illustration and does not exist.
@@tapatikon2742😂😂😂 My thoughts exactly. If the imaginary family can afford that imaginary room, they can afford the triple-glasing. 😂😂
I'm sure it must be tripled pane
🇬🇧 I notice that many utube video stories have these attractive illustrations. I wonder who designs them

It’s Hercule, not Hercules. I can find no fault with the recording

Doesn't sound like Hugh.
I believe that in England, the term. ‘pudding’ is used to mean desserts in general.
As in, “ What’s for pudding?”
How is it used here?
It means what's for afters. IE, what's for pudding.
It's not a difficult concept.
