One thing that I can’t wrap my head around in these events is how did they get easily wiped out by foreign germs? Its used to explain the death of 10’s of millions indigenous peoples across the continents of the Americas, yet the reverse didn’t happen?
Immunity to disease by the foreigners was higher because they were more well travelled, whereas the ones who usually died from the introduced diseases had little to no immunity or exposure to these particular deadly pathogens viruses and bacterias thus making them more susceptible to extreme sickness or death, similar to what has happened to China with the forced lockdowns for years, now being lower immunity and at higher risk of adverse effects from the mutated and stronger strains we're seeing.
It's very simple. Animals. Europeans, Africans, and Asians all domesticated animals. Living in close proximity to animals creates an environment that allows viruses to jump species so since these people domesticated so many animals they were infected time and time again with many different diseases that originated from animals. European explorers carried these diseases with them to the Americas and then accidentally infected the local population, they didn't know enough about germs to use them as biological weapons. Throughout both North and South America the only animal to be domesticated was the llama and because of this they were never infected with all of the diseases the Europeans were so they did not have natural immunity to them so they died off at an extremely high rate, something like 90% of the population of both continents. @@ImpeachObamaASAP2010 that does make a ton of sense. I know vegans talk about diseases jumping from livestock to humans all the time, so it’s certainly plausible. Cannibalism explains a lot about why the gods of the Aztecs required human blood for their existence. Replace the gods with the priestly elites and you have the reason for the continual need for human sacrifice. It has been said that the region lacked a plentiful source of animal protein and that the diet of maze was deficient in protein. Same goes for the Mayans before them. This was how the priests fed themselves a diet of protein. Forget the nonsense about the gods etc. The priestly elites created these myths to justify their actions. This explains a lot about the conflicts of the flower wars and the uprisings among the peasants who supplied the sacrifices with their own bodies. This is a socially destructive practice that is inherently abhorrent.
@@TlaxcalaTraidoraXD It is possible to be both physically healthy and mentally ill at the same time. Now, not everyone believed it, but his reception in Tenochtitlan gave Cortez the time he needed to organize his allies for an attack.

Also it took 200 years for the population to decline by that 90% it was just in a year or two. If you study the reports from the initial explorers they told of massive cities with huge populations but 200 years later when the colonists started to arrive the cities couldn't be found so they were assumed to be just legends but now we have uncovered the ancient cities in the Amazon
@@ImpeachObamaASAP2010 that does make a ton of sense. I know vegans talk about diseases jumping from livestock to humans all the time, so it’s certainly plausible. I was also thinking that people of the Americas didn’t have horses, which I assume would help them build their own immunity/diseases they could offer to Europeans from the cross-pollination, if you will, of the added traffic from horses. Thanks for giving me input on that.
@@FearlessP4P1 no problem, if you look at the way Europeans, Asians, and Africans kept their animals at the time they literally lived with them. most people didn't have large spacious barns, the animals were kept inside during the winter. just imagine sleeping with a cow, some pigs, and a few chickens IN your house lmao.
it was this close proximity that allowed the germs to mutate, not meat consumption. all the germs are killed during the cooking process but living with and around them everyday gives plenty of chances for cross infection. most of the time the person infected will just fight off the disease but every now and then it mutates to be able to infect the host... and that's how we get the swine/avian flu and other such diseases
but it wasn't the native Americans fault, there simply weren't many animals in the Americas that were even capable of being domesticated. they domesticated the llama and that's about it
Cannibalism explains a lot about why the gods of the Aztecs required human blood for their existence.
And yet they ate better than the average European during industrialization
@@TlaxcalaTraidoraXD It is possible to be both physically healthy and mentally ill at the same time. But really who hasn't confused about a guy we kinda remembers identity. Just a couple weeks ago a guy across the store from me starts yelling Nick hey Nick. He shakes my hand and I'm embarrassed. I know I know him but can't place him but he remembers me. He's either Jimmy a guy I bagged groceries with at Kroger when we were 15 or he's a feathered serpent god. So I go with the most likely option. Quetzalcoatl! About time you're back, All that worshipping without even seeing a single scale or feather was getting tough I say. But what a fool I am. It was actually jimmy
I agree with your assessment of yourself. Because, to begin with, there is speculation that Quetzalcoatl was actually a man. Second, they had never seen a man with white skin and a red beard. Such things were unheard of. And probably most important of all, legend has it he promised to return from the east. Now, not everyone believed it, but his reception in Tenochtitlan gave Cortez the time he needed to organize his allies for an attack.

Many cultures around the world had bizarre horrifying rituals. Sometimes there's too much focus on indigenous rituals.

If you want real ruthlessness look at the English which is why they concocted the Black Legend blaming Spain for the very acts they were committing .
In Spanish Florida there was a marriage between a black freed slave and a Spaniard in the 1500's and in the Caribbean Spaniards and natives married while in Anglo US until the 1900's it was illegal. Not to mention that the natives of the US are almost completely gone as they are in Canada,Australia and New Zealand..

@franciscoalonso3786 Your ignorance and lack of research on the matter has led you to make this comment so I won't hold it against you. Many Mexicans today dont have time or means to do proper research on their ancestry or nation's history, but let me school you... there's an enormous Y chromosome diversity observed in Native American populations. So, although most of the Mexicas/Aztecs were decimated, that doesn't mean that modern Mexicans don't carry the same genetics as the Aztecs did. I, for example, have a DNA of 96% Mesoamerican directly connected to Tenochtitlán or modern-day Mexico City. I have virtually pure Native American blood. And yeah, perhaps I don't know Nahualt, and my name is not Tizoc, but my bloodline and lineage is Mesoamerican. Warrior Pedigree. The Aztecs tribes live through me and many of us here in the U.S. and Mexico, it's literally in the blood and genetics of many of us.
