      racism now is a lot different and more subtle than it was in the 1800s its less "kill the nigger" and more "I'm fine with them existing as long as they do it someplace else and know that they're inferior." even then there are still far worse people than him in America today.

      Both of the previous answers were only partially correct. Bob Dylan has said it. Janis Joplin did sing it (but not the first artist to do so). The lyrics for the song were penned by Kris Kristofferson.
      It's also very close to one of the three core tenets of Buddhism. Paraphrasing, 'because nothing is permanent, a life based on possessions doesn't make you happy.'
      It's often explained as: you are a slave to anything you are unwilling to part with.

It was a simple question regarding a more complex situation and likely he unemotionally was stating 'I wouldn't raise a kid that wasn't mine'... and there was no real racial context to his answer in the first place.

      Aside from having some guts to voice the unpopular opinions(That may, or may not be the facts), he said some undisputable facts the most people are afraid to say today. I live in a country with way less ethnical diversity than USA, yet again, people of each ethnicity usually prefer to stick to the people of their own ethnicity and culture rather than mixing with the others even though we all can speak a common language, and share some similarities like music taste or food. It's not that we never interact, but in the end of the day, we go back to the typical human tribal behaviour.
      Maybe I am theorizing now, but I think the reason is that ages before we reached this stadium of modern developed society, human societies were tribal and maybe the tendency to make sub groups within our societies evolved with us. And it's not even only applied to ethnical background. I guarantee that if it's ruled out, we would find some other reason to break ourselves into the smaller groups(as we already do). Some would say it's just a bunch of social constructs, but it still comes from human nature, so maybe we just can't help it.
      With that being said, forcing too much diversity might not be as good as some people think. That's just one plus reason for humans to organize themselves in the tribes(and there is a lot of them today, including ones who claim they are in it for a good cause and human rights) and bitch about bullshit.

      @dauritas1460 well said. I would go further and say forcing any diversity at all, or any other behavior is counterproductive. People do not like to be forced to do anything and will rebel from it as a rule. I think this can be seen in the “worsening” race relations of the last 15 years. It’s just a product of people begin fed up with being forced to do/say things. Its has no basis in actual feelings about other groups of people.

    • @dauritas1460
      @dauritas1460 Месяц назад +1

      @@ChristopherLoupe-hh6bj Exactly. And those who use "it's all just a social construct anyway, thus unimportant" fail to realize that the need to form a society, rules and norms at it's core comes from a human natural need to connect with each other which is an important aspect of our survival as a social animal, thus forming small societies(sub-cultures, political party supporters, sport club fans, religious groups etc) within a larger society which is in these days of global culture only a part of even larger society is inevitable and is what our ancestors have done ever since a first time they reached a higher state of sapience and developed capability of what we like to call an abstract thought.
      By trying to force some utopian idea of ultimate unity(that doesn't even sound that bad in theory) they are basically doing the same thing as any other group, and I'm not even certain they realize it fully. In order to form an utopian society, all humans would need to reach a state of perfection, which is non-existent in nature, as it's established, and therefore non-existent in human.
      Whether we like it, or not, it is a part of our nature, and we are not better than any other animal species although our self importance makes us think we are. We just use the main asset we naturally developed for survival, and that would be our intellect(and opposable thumbs, of course xD), just as a tiger uses it's strength, teeth and claws for it's own.
      Minority trying to make majority conform is a blade with two edges and rarely ends well, often for both opposing factions.
