    My man! Been looking to upgrade my bag for a couple weeks and brevite was in my market. The odd thing though is that there’s hardly any videos of the bag talking about the cons. I was literally a click away from buying the bag but stopped myself because I wanted to do more research and knew it wouldn’t fit my gear. Everything you point out seems minimal but it will bother in the long run and can get you frustrated. Great vid!

    Yess thank for a video with the cons! I had to specifically search "negative brevite reviews" and still needed to scroll a while before finding one! I always like to find reviews pointing out the bad parts of something so I know if it's worth it for me and get an honest review. Been 2 yrs since this video so maybe a bunch of stuff has been fixed too. Thank you.

    You are so right. I like the bag a lot but the inserts are not the best design. After watching your video I found an insert from another bag I have that has bottom Velcro and it is much more secure. Thanks!

    Seems like a complicated company with these reviews. Wonder why so much for a bag now I know to go else where for a lesser price. I didn’t want to own the company just wanted a no hassle camera bag without the complications. Thanks!

    I have the bag, i love it, however, maybe slimmer dividers might be better but so far it works great for me. Favorite bag I've ever had and I own one of the peak design bags

    All sound like valid points. In my experience though and easy to tighten strap also tends to be a strap that is easy to loosen, often all by itself. I dislike flimsy dividers. I can live with them on my $43 Amazon backpack but at $160+ I would expect more. That said this bag would likely meet my needs as my cheap Amazon backpack is really all camera oriented and not very usable for anything beyond camera gear. I would probably have all the camera sections filled so maybe the flimsy dividers would stay supported by the equipment inside if I pack and repack carefully as items are used. I get the same endless marketing emails from Moment....telling me to hurry and order an items I just looked at "before it is gone", of course the item was a back ordered item with no firm delivery date, so, ummm....its already gone LOL. Great honest review.

    Do you find your lenses stay in place? I keep finding my lenses jump around in the bag. Plus, the dividers keep bowing. I ended up switching some lowepro dividers in there to get some stability.

    • @eightbitJuan

      The included dividers SUCK.
      I've gotten used to fitting in my gear in a certain way but even then if I have empty spaces around, I will have heavier lenses move around and bow dividers

      Crazy right? I don't know if they just do it because they think it doesn't look as good or something?
      Either way that's the main annoyance I have with this bag still. I do like pretty much everything else though.

    Nice little day pack for around town but it lacks the stiffer structure necessary to actually carry camera gear safely. Unfortunately the bag quickly loses its shape when loaded with cameras/lenses. The dividers are overly long and flexible so my gear ends up piled up at the bottom of the bag. Would work much better with a camera cube of some sort. It's a shame as the bag is quite handsome and a joy to use and carry otherwise. Little help for v3 Brevitē?

    Thank you for an honest review. Just received the bag and am a little underwhelmed. I like it more than my previous bag but it could definitely be better with a couple tweaks like you said.

    I just got mine last month and I rarely wear it. Overall the bag is "ok" but they have the worse shoulder straps. Too thin, and barely any padding. It's almost like it was meant for an elementary kid to wear it. IDK why no one mention this.

  • @Toddkemp76

    So true regarding the dividers. I mentioned this to @brevite and I hope they fix it... it wouldn’t cost but .10c more per dividers.

    I ordered the jumper and I did not love it... the fabric was like a paper towel. As an outdoor photography enthusiast that was not going to work. It was very soft and absorbent feeling, also it’s a dog hair magnet btw. The dividers are flimsy and that extra piece of Velcro as stated in the video would help. The straps were very weak as well, reminded me of a childs backpack. I did end up shelling out for the scout ii, and returning the jumper. The schematic of the jumper is great and especially for beginner photographers like myself. I just couldn’t justify keeping a bag that seemed to be such low quality for such a high price. I feel as if the price I paid for the scout was a little absurd but I’m willing to shell out a bit to protect my gear. It seems to be made at a much higher quality.

    Great review, and one of the few honest reviews about this bag. I wanted to like the bag so much. It's the perfect size for a camera and a few lenses and other personal gear. It doesn't look like a camera bag. The tripod and water bottle storage is nice, the small pockets everywhere are well thought out. But the camera cube ruins the whole thing. Not only do the dividers need velcro on more sides, as you say--the outside of the camera cube should be stiffer to provide more structure and protection. It's even worse when you have a mirrorless kit--there's so many gaps between the dividers that my Fuji primes jump around all over the inside of the bag. I'm going to stick with a Tenba BYOB insert in a Tom Bihn bag.

    Ugh THANK YOU for this. I have been struggling finding a bag that doesn't have flimsy dividers because my gear consistently flies all over the place with my current bag. It's the one thing I really care about and I was honestly considering the Brevite bag - I won't be wasting the time now!

    Nice review 👍 super useful !!!🙏 two questions: 1.regarding velcro, can you reuse the dividers from another bag? The other divider you showed, does it stick to the back at least? And 2. Is the bag hard enough, meaning the outer shell, does it give enough pretection for equipment, or if you accidently hit a door or wall you will break you gear. Asking because it kinda looks too soft.

    • @eightbitJuan
      @eightbitJuan  3 года назад +3

      You can use other dividers, but it's annoying that you feel the need to have to.
      The ones that I showed do work better since they stick to the bottom as well as the sides, but it just looks bad so I just stick to the original ones.
      In terms of toughness it really depends how the rough you are with your stuff. It's been fine for me, and even in your door scenario I think it would survive just fine (unless of course you absolutely slammed the ever living shit out of it).

    • @YoSpiff
      @YoSpiff 2 года назад

      @@eightbitJuan Thanks. I usually pull out my bin of padded dividers from all the camera bags I have tried before in order to get a fully custom internal layout. I'm not too particular about whether the inside matches the outside, so that's not a huge problem for me.

  • @YoSpiff
    @YoSpiff 2 года назад +1

    Thanks for an honest review that includes the negatives. I have more trust in reviews that aren't 100% glowing. I'm looking at buying this or the nearly identical Runner about 1 1/2 years after your review. It does look like they have added the luggage pass through and I can buy an add-on sternum strap pretty cheap. Looking at it for work travel, which includes some sightseeing when I can work it in. I use a Micro 4/3 Olympus and think that this will fit in the camera section with plenty of room for other needed items that require some protection. Just waiting until after the holidays in case someone gets me a different but similar bag.

    Hey man, dope review. I just got mine today, but was a little regretful that i didn’t get the more stylish Runner model. I was planning on using it for a couple of days and leaning on that return policy. Good thing i found your video tho! I almost got rid of the tag and everything. Thankfully it’s only one tag, but still. Looks like i’ll have to return it asap and not even have time to see if i “fall in love with it” as they say. Kind of a bummer cause i wanted to review it, but looks like i won’t get the chance to anyway, which is a shame. Thanks for your review.
