I’m from nyc but my mom is from Charleston and their cooking is very similar to Ghanaian food this dish in particular puts me in mind of my mom’s red rice dish the technique is also similar when I make jollof rice I’m often reminded of my mother and grandma’s cooking it’s really nice to know that our ancestors kept some of the dishes that they learned in their homeland I love this channel and sweet adjelty channel I feel like I’m part of their family always feeling welcome when I visit

Nanaaba, I salute you! I salute you well, well. Your Jollof just won international award😂😂😂. So remarkable, so glorious, rich, fluffy, inviting, I'm sure tasty, and the salad and turkey? Chai! As my Nigerian brothers will say, Na wa oh! You are still the best, hands down. Thanks to our darling Sisi Yemmie for the inspiration, I watched that video and it was so good! I am coming over...uninvited, but we are Africans, there's always a welcome mat spread out and I know my Nanaaba will welcome me. Bless you Sis, get ready for NEW HEIGHTS in 2021. Woow. Thank you!! This was a rolls Royce party Jollof recipe! Thank you for those extra tips. I smiled as I saw you immersing the peppers and onions for moisture and flavour tip from Sisi Yemi. My personal tip is to pop my pot with the vegetables in the oven at this stage...Jollof in my kitchen gets an upgrade every time I cook it. Now I am contemplating a special twist for my birthday Jollof in a few weeks.👏👏👏😋😱🥂

First, I must start by saying that your voice over is awesome! I love how soothing yet exciting your voice is when you give instruction and describe how the dish is going to taste. You sound as if you already have a professional cooking show! Now...with that said, I made this dish last night but I used beef neckbones. OMG!!!!! Because I used beef, I let it marinate longer and cook longer and it was AMAZING even before I fried it!! My rice broke though...that kinda made me sad. I'm not sure why. I don't think I used the right kind of jasmine rice, I used tomato puree instead of paste(I didn't have any), and I roasted 3 roma tomatoes to compensate(rookie move, I know) but the flavor profile was so outstanding that I didn't care. I can't wait to try more of your dishes! You're a really great host and cook! Thank you for what you do!
