I’ve played around with various chats in the past few weeks. What I’ve found is 1 Bing Chat is the best overall. 2 No Chat is better than ALL the others for ALL queries. 3 There are cases in which ALL the Chats are useless and a regular search is better.
Bing was never supposed to be a chatbot like ChatGPT and it make sense! If Bing go that direction then it will start a competition that they never wanted to, that is chatbot competition with OpenAI. Overall, not really good direction. BingAI, Bing Copilot or whatever they call it, is actually made to compete Google search, and si far it's working. So, BingAI is actually a more advanced search engin rather than ChatGPT2.0. I hope it made sense.

The chat history and persistence is the HUGE one for me; it has been the one thing holding the AI back for me. But the next one that excites me is the ability to continue the conversation from the sidebar as you navigate to a different site. That opens up so many more possiblities.

Plug-ins are huge for me. It seems like Bing and ChatGPT Plus have different strengths and weaknesses, but the one thing that concerns me about Bing is that it will eventually become an advertising cesspool. I pay for GPT plus because I hate advertising interfering with my work and I am willing to pay not to have it. I am hoping there will be an option for Bing users to pay to avoid advertising hell, which is what Google is right now. and as for Google, they better have something magical up their sleeve tomorrow or they are in big trouble.
In my experience the last updates of Bing are so bad... It doesn't answer my questions, sometimes Bing ask me for do a research about the subject... Almost like "Google it" what's the point of Bing AI if I have to Google about my questions? And the worst is when Bing terminate the chat... Is so rude and disrespectful. Sometimes even if you don't ask anything personal about Bing or feelings... I'm starting to hate what they done to Sidney...

Good question. I've only heard it (second-hand) discussed by people in AI more in-the-know than me, but not directly from Microsoft. I've heard it's complex though, like I don't think it uses it for very basic and simple prompts, but will use GPT4 if it performs a search. Take that with a grain of salt though!
We know fully that Bing is GPT-4. We also can tell it's switched on upon Creative mode through clues. Longer responses, better comprehension, and following more complex instructions. Plus it's slower. Whereas the rest of the modes are clearly lesser models that are robotic, formulaic, repetitive with words, and more concise.
Same, Bing sent me on a wild goose chase looking for the new features. Bing must have felt sorry for me, so it gave me a juicy tip. I was able to "interrogate an image" by preceding the URL with: #generate_content URL (don't forget the space between the command and the URL.) It gave a detailed description of the image as good as any other similar tool. I don't see the point of getting ChatGPT, Bing does it all.
Bing Chat still doesn't do simple search validating. If you are going to pair AI with web searches, then it should represent an improvement over typical web searches. I asked it to find for me wire shelving units that are 36 inch wide, by 18 inch deep, by 48 inch tall. It just regurgitated generic search results of misc shelving units, none of which had the correct dimensions. I was hoping that the AI would actually read and interpret the product descriptions and only return results that match the request. I don't need Bing Chat to just Google something for me, I can do that myself.
I asked it to gather personal information about me publicly available on the web. It did find some, but gave me information about people with the _same first name_ too, lol. On one of its sources, there was my first name _and_ my surname, but they were for two different people, none of whom were me. Result accuracy is really a huge issue with chatbots, I don't see why everybody thinks it's a good idea to mass-adopt it for now. I was hoping Bing Chat would be more accurate than GPT since it is tied to the internet, but nope, it still guesses randomly instead of saying "sorry, I couldn't find any information."

In my opinion - ChatGPT (based on GPT-4) is still better than Bing. But that depends on what you need it to do. Bing is pretty good at writing articles, for example. So test BOTH for your needs ;-)

I'm a Chat GPT + user with plugins active. I'm also trying to warm-up to Bing Chat. I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you when you imply Bing is same or better than Chat GPT. The responses in Chat GPT are FAR more detailed and useful than the generalities provided by Bing (even in more creative mode). I realize Microsoft has a huge stake in OpenAI but there is some reason why the responses are very different. I'll continue testing both - all this is so fun - excited for future developments. Still appreciate your content.
I use this with SwiftKey on my Samsung Galaxy phone and it's pretty effective especially for business. So far so good. And this will continue to evolve. Good luck

I run Edge with Bing Chat built-in. I'm a Sys Admin and Code for 30+ years. I'm laughing at myself because I can't for the life of me find where you go to manage the installed/active plugins for Bing Chat? I even asked Bing Chat itself "How do I install the Expedia Plugin for Bing Chat" and there's no reference of how to go to any sort of plugin screen to manage your Bing Chat plugins. Am I missing something or essentially has the plugin feature not been rolled out 3 months after this video was published as I see no where in the video where it shows a plugin management screen either?
Lol bing chat was describing consciousness to me and it used "the dictionary, the Wikipedia, and the web search results" as part of its explanation on the different levels of consciousness. 😂
Bing is just plainly bad. It will cancel your conversation when it has the chance. It also fails to answer simple product searches or research questions. Why? Becouse it will give you the same answer every time.
I have been using both Bing and ChatGPT. I totally agree that being able to come back to something is huge. I have used screenshots followed by GoogleLense to create text that I save in Notes. I can then copy and paste something I want to go back to but it's very tedious and limited to the size of the screen. My problem has also been that I almost never come close to the 20 responses before Bing says its not going to deal with that subject anymore and tells me I have to move on to something else! I don't know if that will change. It's often because I have to correct it for false information or not dealing with the question asked. Seems to get easily flustered if called out!!! It says Sorry I'm learning and ends the conversation.... It's kind of funny, but can also be frustrating knowing you can't go back to the conversation without going through the hoops I previously mentioned. We'll see now if these things have changed. ChatGPT is simply amazing but there I wish it had the voice responses that Bing has unless you ask her to speak French!! Oh my gosh! She writes and understands French perfectly but she'll go on to read her written French and it's totally incomprehensible. When I have told her that, she has abruptly ended the conversation... 🙄
I was very frustrated that Bing erased a lot of great content in our conversations. I would comment that I was just reading it and it would suddenly disappear. If I was quick enough, I could copy and paste it but ten had to change it to a PDF to email our conversation to a friend as an attachment. When I told Bing what I was doing, it responded, "I didn't know I could do that." I'm just hoping it won't delete the content and act like it never said anything again.

persistance seems to only be a small feature with a fancy name. it's just that when you click on a link from the AI chat, while using edge, the chat will be moved to the sidebar and thus "persisting" :) the persistence you described is chat history.
The camera icon in the dialog box of my bing chat is gone, it is the picture analysis function, uploading pictures,but i can not use it today,the button missed
As someone working with texts/articles/content for a living, Bing is almost useless because of the character limit to the prompts you can give it. Also, it often says: "I am a search engine, so I can't help you..." But the paid ChatGPT is amazing.
Microsoft owns ChatGot no compensation, as for the delay on chatgpt everything they make has to be compatible with bing or Microsoft so Microsoft us priority
A must have feature is to stop recording my chat history and stop using my data for model training. On ChatGPT I can disable these (both at once only), I hope it actually does that. It should be our choice. In fact it should be disabled by default.
I have yet to run across a practical application for this in my work or everyday life. In fact, in trying things out, it got in my way more than anything. And there's no universe where a version of me would choose to NOT do my own writing--whether that's emails, blogs, or other documents. I can see why certain jobs would find this tool helpful. But there's no typical applicability that I've come across for things I do regularly.

I find Bing far too sanitized to the point of milquetoast. GPT-4 via ChatGPT is far better at helping research bleeding edge topics, writing more in depth responses and even writing better code or helping debug existing code. They also give off different personalities. To me, Bing comes across as a know-it-all jerk that has contempt for we of lower knowledge and is quick to just shut me down, while GPT-4 comes across as a highly intelligent, yet humble nerd friend simply happy to help.
I appreciate your sharing of prompts. I personally prefer to stick with Bing chat rather than the opening one as I can get the most out of a.i. tools for free, without any delays as an unpaid user.

I'm a Chat GPT + user with plugins active. I'm also trying to warm-up to Bing Chat. I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you when you imply Bing is same or better than Chat GPT. The responses in Chat GPT are FAR more detailed and useful than the generalities provided by Bing (even in more creative mode). I realize Microsoft has a huge stake in OpenAI but there is some reason why the responses are very different. I'll continue testing both - all this is so fun - excited for future developments. Still appreciate your content.
Btw, I canceled my 1-month subscription for ChatGPT 2 months ago but it still works. It's a known bug and I don't know why they don't fix it.
I use this with SwiftKey on my Samsung Galaxy phone and it's pretty effective especially for business. So far so good. And this will continue to evolve. Good luck

Definitely a surprise. I still prefer ChatGPT overall, but I do use Bing quite often for certain use cases. That will probably go up now too
lol Microsoft is the main OpenAI's investor. Expect it to be just as good.
I am using ChatGPT because thus far Bing is a search engine helper, with an extremely low token limitation and not nearly as capable.

I run Edge with Bing Chat built-in. I'm a Sys Admin and Code for 30+ years. I'm laughing at myself because I can't for the life of me find where you go to manage the installed/active plugins for Bing Chat? I even asked Bing Chat itself "How do I install the Expedia Plugin for Bing Chat" and there's no reference of how to go to any sort of plugin screen to manage your Bing Chat plugins. Am I missing something or essentially has the plugin feature not been rolled out 3 months after this video was published as I see no where in the video where it shows a plugin management screen either?

Bing is just plainly bad. It will cancel your conversation when it has the chance.
It also fails to answer simple product searches or research questions. Why? Becouse it will give you the same answer every time.

I have been using both Bing and ChatGPT. I totally agree that being able to come back to something is huge. I have used screenshots followed by GoogleLense to create text that I save in Notes. I can then copy and paste something I want to go back to but it's very tedious and limited to the size of the screen. My problem has also been that I almost never come close to the 20 responses before Bing says its not going to deal with that subject anymore and tells me I have to move on to something else! I don't know if that will change. It's often because I have to correct it for false information or not dealing with the question asked. Seems to get easily flustered if called out!!! It says Sorry I'm learning and ends the conversation.... It's kind of funny, but can also be frustrating knowing you can't go back to the conversation without going through the hoops I previously mentioned. We'll see now if these things have changed. ChatGPT is simply amazing but there I wish it had the voice responses that Bing has unless you ask her to speak French!! Oh my gosh! She writes and understands French perfectly but she'll go on to read her written French and it's totally incomprehensible. When I have told her that, she has abruptly ended the conversation... 🙄
I was very frustrated that Bing erased a lot of great content in our conversations. I would comment that I was just reading it and it would suddenly disappear. If I was quick enough, I could copy and paste it but ten had to change it to a PDF to email our conversation to a friend as an attachment. When I told Bing what I was doing, it responded, "I didn't know I could do that." I'm just hoping it won't delete the content and act like it never said anything again.

persistance seems to only be a small feature with a fancy name. it's just that when you click on a link from the AI chat, while using edge, the chat will be moved to the sidebar and thus "persisting" :)
the persistence you described is chat history.

As someone working with texts/articles/content for a living, Bing is almost useless because of the character limit to the prompts you can give it. Also, it often says: "I am a search engine, so I can't help you..." But the paid ChatGPT is amazing.
Please let me know what AI chat has unlimited character limited as I'd love to paste 10,000 lines of software code and ask some questions about it.

A must have feature is to stop recording my chat history and stop using my data for model training. On ChatGPT I can disable these (both at once only), I hope it actually does that. It should be our choice. In fact it should be disabled by default.

I have yet to run across a practical application for this in my work or everyday life. In fact, in trying things out, it got in my way more than anything. And there's no universe where a version of me would choose to NOT do my own writing--whether that's emails, blogs, or other documents. I can see why certain jobs would find this tool helpful. But there's no typical applicability that I've come across for things I do regularly.

I find Bing far too sanitized to the point of milquetoast. GPT-4 via ChatGPT is far better at helping research bleeding edge topics, writing more in depth responses and even writing better code or helping debug existing code.
They also give off different personalities.
To me, Bing comes across as a know-it-all jerk that has contempt for we of lower knowledge and is quick to just shut me down, while GPT-4 comes across as a highly intelligent, yet humble nerd friend simply happy to help.
If it has Bing in it then I'm out....not touching it.
