The youtube tech space is so crowded that it's almost impossible for newer channels to get any traction. It doesn't help that most of them do the exact same things but what you've brought to the table are some of the most thorough tests and comparisons that I've ever seen. You definitely deserve to get a good subscriber base!
Started following you from your early days... you've got every bit of potential to make it big in long run and one day brands will rush after you for promoting their products... please make sure to stay as much genuine and scientific as you are now..
Something I learned in my introductory film class: Always show the new/good things on the right side and the old on the left side. Its more natural to most people due to the left-right reading in the Western hemisphere and that how time moves on on an axis. Make of that what you will, still love your videos :D
well my S22 ultra Exynos 2200 is having Geekbench single-core 1630 and multi-core 3906, still doing great I guess :) thank you Mo for your great videos, great value for our time.
choosing between these 2 phones I would prob just get the 8a. The battery life is better, it will get longer updates and it costs less. Some people say the screen on the 8 looks better but the brightness appears to be about the same so I'm not sure.
How come nobody is talking about the terrible 8a screen. I have to return because it's horrible. When slightly off axis, you will see rainbowing of purple. It's horrible. Even when just texting. Sounds like because it's a non-ridgid screen? Everyone is glossing over it.
In my country pixel 8a and 8 is 150 euro difference. I don't see it as a win. When I bought pixel 4a in 2020 it was really a striking deal compared to flagships. I was so surprised that for such a low price you could get something so good.
I don't know the current prices of both, but till 70€ difference more, i would immediately pick the Pixel 8, which is more premium and beautiful, material wise and looking wise thanks to its thinner bezels and less rounded corners and it is a flagship vs a midranger... 🥰

8a is best looking Pixel phone still can't deicde which one to buy the 8a or iPhone 15, many complain on 8a and Pixel in general lags and Tensor G3 so i really don't know if it's worth the risk
They are right. I like pixel 8a as a phone more than iphone 15, but it does run warm. When the temp rise, it lags, it can happen in intensive tasks line navigation
In my testing, the thermals and performance is better on the Pixel 8. The Tensor G3 in the 8a uses iPOP packing tech while the 8/8 pro uses FO-PLP. IPOP is thicker and as a result runs hotter but is much cheaper. I'm not sure if it's underclocked or has a different cooling system. Also, the display is a weird one. My Pixel 8a is substantially dimmer compared to my Pixel 8. But my friend's Pixel 8a is brighter than both of my 8a and 8. Cheers.
Thanks for the info. Since it is using less power, my guess is that it is either under volt or under clock, or it's just my unit. Really hard to tell. Let me know if there is a test that I can confirm it.
In general, Pixels have strange problems with screens. In January this year, I purchased a total of 3 Pixel 8 units and unfortunately I had to return them all. The first one had a very yellow screen and in the other two the automatic dimming/brightening did not work.
@@techmo2020 Sure, I think it's slightly underclocked to manage the thermals. Also I noticed, my Pixel 8 is more stabilized while zooming in compared to Pixel 8a. Looks like the OIS+EIS is superior on 8.
I wish, at least, every flagship device had an option to use a plastic back. People use glass to see through things, I don't need to see through the back of my phone, damnit. Great video, btw.

Oh wow that's such a good tip, thanks mate :)
Thank you very much. I was especially waiting for your review.
Excellent review ! Actually a very different opinion amidst hate for this phone from other youtubers. How’s the heat/ warm issue in LTE/5G?
I'm gonna test this tomorrow.
My first priorities in buying a phone is cameras and display screen to body ratio. I'll go with the pixel 8.
For me, the same!
Great comparison 👍
Thanks for the super informative review!!

8a and 8 will both get 7 years of updates. They were both released with android 14.
Updates to the software will outlive the hardware. Nobody keeps a phone for 7 years, the battery would probably last 20 mins by then.
@@DarrenSaw Especially with that modem inside
It not about keeping the phone 7 years, you will be abble to resell it for a better price like after 3 years you sell it, second life etc@@DarrenSaw
@@DarrenSawand you will be able to change the battery on the 8a and 8
8a bezels ruin it for me! otherwise instant buy
Da 25er ;-)
Is that a Persian accent I hear?
It`s so awesome that you label on screen what each phone is so you always know and avoid those moments of brief confusion.
A55 vs 8A, please, your comparisons are gold. Thanks for test the PWM dimming. This channel deserves more, good job.

😂 I would rather take my chances with faster charging and better camera P8 for me

Well done talking about PWM, wow.
I like wen you : I M CLUMZY 😅😅😅😅
What can you compare? Pixel 8a is half the price and only a bit worse, so it wins

Since I almost never take photos or care about them that much and the only downside is worse charging speed I think I'll live thx for the video

Very good movie for such a small channel, thank you because you showed me what I wanted and I couldn't find similar comparisons anywhere, thanks

Also I'm measuring the battery temp not the CPU temp, just FYI if that helps
