At 20:51… agreed, not enough is taught on the image of God. That notions tenders so much ecclesiological material! Sandra Richter and Catherine McDowell have contributed to some extent on this.
Thank you for this, yet another purchase for me on Amazon!

"The Story Retold" - used this book in a seminary class. At first, I was somewhat upset at the 'High School' level of the book. Then I realized, as I read more and more in it, that each chapter is about 20-25 pages, easily read for a weekly Sunday School or Christian School SERIOUS class for a full semester H.S. or one year Adult N.T. overview. EXCELLENT book while seeing Scripture with 'new' i.e., covenantal eyes.

John MacArthur is bringing dispensationalists into Reformed theology but they are bringing their dispensationalism with them and will probably be a source of trouble and division in Reformed churches if the basic problems with dispensationalism are not confronted.

Yes this is true unfortunately. My journey to being “fully” reforms began with those like MacArthur (accept the 5 points, retain Baptist and dispensational hermeneutics). Then I moved into the 1689 world (dropped dispensationalism, adopt amillennial eschatology and 1689 federalism). Then I began to see the consistency of the Westminster Standards and the unity of the 2 covenants. It’s a stepwise process for many of us. I doubt you will find many mainstream evangelicals who will totally change their theology overnight.

I’ll bet the gas they release in the rare book library is carbon dioxide? That suffocates fires. Haha, I teach chemistry!
