    The highlight of the year in baseball, if not only in MLB, was definitely the WBC final between Ohtani vs Trout! It was the stage the baseball gods had set for the "first two-way player in 100 years" and the "best player of the modern era". It happened in March, but it is remembered more vividly than when the Rangers won the championship. It was a duel that will go down in history.

    Low key, I kinda hoped they'd sneak in Ohtani striking out Trout in the WBC final at number one, even though it technically wasn't "during the season" per se.... it was such a killer moment, I wanted to see it somewhere...

      What’s a double header

    • @berrystar8838
      @berrystar8838 Год назад +11

      @@ritzkola2302Sometimes rains or storms or aftermath of storms might cause the cancellation of games, so the shift of a game might fall into the same day as another game that ends up to have two games in a day. In this situation, having two games in one day is called a double header. This double header between Tigers and Angles was scheduled as an extremely tight schedules which only allowed 40 min interval between 1st and 2nd game! In Shohei's case, he was DH and starting pitcher in the 1st game of the double header, Shohei had a complete game shutout victory in 1st game of the double header. And after 15 minutes rest & 🚿 shower, Shohei had a 10 minutes regular Japanese and English media Q&R for his pitching. Then with 15 minutes break and preparation, Shohei DH in the 2nd game of the double header. Shohei hit his 37th HR in his 1st swing in 1st at bat of the 2nd game and 45 minutes later Shohei hit another HR (38th) at the 1st swing again in his 2nd at bat of the 2nd game of the double header 😂! This is a first record in baseball history to have a baseball player complete shutout in 1st game of a double header and hit two HR in the 2nd game of a double header! Shohei also had started pitching and won the game while hit 2 HR in the same game against Orioles in May '23 too but it was not a double header or complete game shutout.

    As much as I appreciate them, walk offs are not plays. They should have their own video.

    Ima be honest theres a difference between the best PLAYS and the best MOMENTS. Waino getting his 200th win and Jansen getting his 400th save are top moments but they aren't top plays

    #65, #64: Following up a pitcher getting 9 straight strikeouts with a clip of the Tigers is ironic: Anibal Sanchez struck out 9 in a row while with the Tigers in a game where he also set a single-game franchise record with 17 K's.

    These broadcasters make every normal play sound like it was the most impossible play ever by any human on the planet.

    Maybe I'm splitting hairs but I would never call a home run or a hit a "play," let alone multiple homers, etc. Seems like this is the top 100 moments. Still cool but not what I thought it would be.

      There should be separate 100 fielding plays vs 100 moments
