Grid layout in android has both row and column defined.
In this grid layout tutorial, we are going to have card view that will contain images and text.

When the grid layout item is clicked a new activity will open with and display the image of the clicked card.
When the grid layout item is clicked a new activity opens.
We have a click the opens a specific activity and another on that open the same activity.
You will also learn how to pass data from clicked grid item to the new activity.

Unfortunately we are now 3-years later and I am following your EXCELLENT explanation using Android Studio Koala but even though I am following you EXACTLY I am getting errors when trying to construct my Activity_Main.xml file. The errors relate to improperly formed tags. Do you have a version of this projct built with a more recent version of AS ? Even when I access your code from your Github repository it doesnt run in AS Koala ?.
