For some this is a delicate subject, but for me and the people I speak on behalf - this needs to be talked about. The MTB community is incredibly diverse and people from all over the world take part. But why aren't industry leaders representing this diversity? It's time the brands and pioneers realise we are here and represent the people who equally contribute to the success of their brands and the community as a whole. So glad you had the confidence to do this(I didn’t). Ive spent ages thinking about this and really means a lot this conversation has finally been pushed out there with the right message and so much focus. Me and trail rippers spoke loads about the incident and how to make mtb better for the kids and this is a huge step for us all.
Great video with a even greater cause behind of it. I fully stand behind what you’ve mentioned and will support this as far as I can. Thank you for getting this out there!!✊🏾 I feel really comfortable in the MTB/EMTB community and think the only problem is that this never have been voiced and needed to be. A few brands as you’ve already mentioned already paid attention to this and I feel every one should. It’s time for a change not only in the MTB community! ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
Great thought providing video mate 👍🏼 the outro was stunning as well. Great highlighting all these various riders visually amd putting the topic in the spotlight! No need for the shout out, was good getting good you out to Bikepark Wales, reckon you will shred it a bit harder now as well 👊🏻⚡
Discovered your channel yesterday thanks to uphillphill ‘s latest video. Thank you very much for this very powerful message. And as a middle age white man, I could not agree with you more. We need more ethnic and gender representation in the sport. New subscriber, hope to meet you on the trails at some point.
To remove the stigma that no sport is based or bound by a particular archetype. Rock on Sharn. We're gonna change the world girl. We'll keep shredding for a better tomorrow. #fabT🤙🏿 For a better Tomorrow.
Got to meet Elliot Jackson for a couple of days as he was staying in the same chalet in morzine I was staying in ….proper nice bloke! Great ambassador for the bike world 👊
Your articulated this message well indeed. I agree, the mtb community is fam... Nobody cares your color, race, or creed... we all just happy to be on bikes, but also for the longest i though i was the only dude of color who rode.... I hope your message is received by those who need to hear it, fo sho.
Powerful and needed saying. It really is easy for me as a white, middle aged, middle class man to be blinkered about this. You shine the spotlight and it becomes glaring, thank you. I do think overall as a community we are a pretty decent bunch but completely agree the industry needs to do more.....we all do! Great work on this and the outro is mint 👌
I had a unusual experince: met a random group of friends infront of a shopping centre, I've been asked many questions before, usually bike related, but that times it was a surprise. Random dude: are you racist? Me: no is this a new trend?😀 maybe they wanted to make sure every coming near were not a racist before having a chat. one of them asked if I had a problem with the black guy, I of course said no, so we chatted a bit, I definitely made it clear I was not a racist.
If you're ever in Enfield area. We got a nice park in Trent Park. I do it on my own or my mate if he's bothered. 😂. I'm a minority too, got into it around last year, I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
I'm glad I found your channel as a mountain biker of color I try my best to be the best representative I can of our discipline if you're ever in my neighborhood look me up I definitely would love to take you for a ride

@@RideWithSharn bummer probably in time just keep an eye out for it does work and this will contribute to getting people cuz the problem is connecting to people that seems to be the big problem it is a neat app I can tell you that is that people that have the means to travel this is great for them but the ones that don't they can also have it set local trails oh and also this is a nice little feature on their call events where you can get group rides going this is the main purpose of that app to get people out there. Where I live there's a place called Second Chance bikes it's in an inner-city Community where the kids better African-American are being taught how to fix bikes it's a nonprofit organization check that out let it be a BMX or mountain bike or 10 speed that they are getting a skill such an early age and their life I think there needs to be bike shops or a nonprofit organization like a second chance bike shop that teach the kids any kids doesn't matter what color they are they wish to learn how to fix their own bikes but I don't see that anywhere else but where I live. It's a place in Asbury Park New Jersey right on Main Street look that up to and see if there's anything like that in the UK that can help these kids to have a skill. I think this is a good start but it probably won't get Traction in some places but who knows won't know until people ask or create something like this.
