Welcome to Episode 5 of How to play the Tagelharpa 👋
This episode was requested by a few of you in the comments, so I'm happy to deliver! This is the second and most detailed part about tuning, where I actually talk in detail about what is used to tune the tagelharpa and show you my process for tuning the instrument. I often change tuning, so that's also why it takes me a bit longer to reach the notes I want. If you're always tuning in the same three notes, it's gonna gradually become much easier to bring the strings in tune. Let me know any other topics you would like me to talk about next by leaving a comment below!

Enjoying these videos greatly. I had built an instrument such as this, but I think it was more of a harp style, i got busy with life, and been depressed for a few years now, just now getting back to this project, but now that I have discovered this instrument tonight,, I may opt to string it in this style, and make it into one of these, anyhoo, I don't know, haha, I like listening to you, and wish I had friends like you to explore all this great stuff. Gonna just sand on it right now, and maybe see what some natural finishes would be like, and do strings tomorrow, I do like the idea of crafting my own pegs, and making a natural bow, okay back to my meditation , and listening. Thank you so very much for the divine inspiration.

I just found your channel, and I am amazed by your quality tutorials and ethereal vocals. You should do a cover of a track from the Ori game franchise, the cousin of Celeste/Hollow Knight. I do believe Light of Nibel would be spectacular in your One-woman Choir style. Either way, you've earned yourself a subscriber.

I really enjoyed your CastleVania: Bloody Tear's cover. Bloody Tear's is one of my favorite CastleVania track's from the series, Please do an Symphonic Rock cover of Dracula's Room (Final Battle) from one of my favorite CastleVania games: Super CastleVania IV (SNES).

Hello friend, I have a question. Does this instrument use harp strings?

    • @Psamathes

Hi Max! Not as far as I know. It uses nylon or horse hair strings but the most similar comparison is instruments like violin or cello

where do you get your string?

They're regular horsehair strings for classical instruments, you can find them online or at music shops!
