As someone new to Warhammer and trying to get into Kill Team, I really like how this video focused on the definition of terms first before the mechanics. This part is missing in so many how-to-play videos from other 40k/Kill Team content creators.
Originally I didn’t think I wanted to play tabletop warhammer, I just wanted to paint the minis. However, this video is giving me confidence and now I’m really considering picking up this set!
A custodes kil team would be 1 guy though? And his faction ability would be instant win. Can’t lie Custode Kill Team is about as good of an idea as putting Knights in boarding actions.
I must say, for Custodes, kill team is really a bad idea as the units are already so elite that you're almost running a kill team in a normal 2000 points game, it would be like asking for a IK list, you would play one half of an armiger knight. It would also create a lot of feels bad pattern any time the opponent has really good rolls as you're operating with maybe 3 guys at best.
There was a Custodes kill team before. In the compendium rules, they've just been removed in this new edition but we're a perfectly fine Kill Team to run up until Hivestorm. Also, Sisters of Silence are literally part of the Inquisitor's Kill Team. So you technically can play some Custodes units in this edition of KT.
Gods have mercy on me is it finally time? Has this dreaded hour finally found me? The looming certainty of mini war gaming is at my door have mercy on my soul
Thats my first warhammer miniatures. I bought the starter set with kasrkin kill team and i really enjoyed assembling them, especially the SM and plague marines, it was really easy. I think the price was good and it was one of the things that really kept me away from buying WH miniatures. I will be really happy if GW puts something like that again for sale.
Haven’t touched anything warhammer (other then video games) for 15 years but this is drawing me in! Kitbashing the new kaskrin into praetorian guard kaskrin 🤙🏻
So far I played one match of KT, using Ork Kommandos vs Legionnaires. Even though I got massacred it was hella fun! Can't wait to get my own (Kasrkin) team to play it 😊
As the beginner myself - you better either wait a bit until those poor Karkin will get at least some buffs in this edition or completely ignore them and choose other killteam as the starting one.
A good guide. I just hope my time will come when I will be able to use my army with subtle and stealthy missions. My World Eaters are fully up to the task.
4:41 I’m a tad confused if you are selecting the auto bold rifle. Is that the permanent load out for this whole game or are you saying I can choose the stalker bold rifle on another turning point or even another shot?
in general you select one option for the entire firefight. Sometimes, like with the plasma rifle or with sniper operatives you'll have several profiles to choose from every time you shoot, and some operatives like those on the Legionary kill team have things like a boltgun and a bolt pistol, but in this case you select the auto bolt rifle/stalker bolt rifle during the select operatives step and you don't change it during the game.
I'm 99% sure you have to choose the weapon for the model at the start of the battle. These are just all of the weapons available to the Intercessor Gunner listed on one card so you don't need multiple for a single model. Can anyone else confirm?
I've ordered the new Two-Player Starter Set for Kill Team, but disappointed that it didn't come with a mini sized Full Rules book like the last Two-Player Starter (The Octarius lite box). I am thinking about getting HiveStorm, but I don't really care about the Kill Teams included and really just want the terrain and rules.
Good Video :) a small addendum here tho: 03:47 Movement Is highly invalid and inaccurate, First of all, forgetting to spend movement on climbing or moving out to the side, 2 gauge is not even close to the mini(Bad measurement)
Hi, I'm a bit confused about the possible victory points in a free game. How many victory point markers are distributed on the playing field? Also, there is always talk of reaching a total of 18 victory points with CritOp, TacOp and KillOp. But what about the victory points you can score with the markers...? Can anyone explain to me from which options you can achieve your victory points in a free game - no mission - on a free playing field?
Where can I get Kill Team Starter Set? I thought pre-orders are supposed to end today but available for purchase. However, its sold out everywhere? How can you launch a product without any product to sell?
Even tho it is easier to get into than 40k, it is still needlessly complicated. I'll probably just stick to using my own XCOM style rules, it's a lot of fun and makes it way easier to include friends and family for a quick game.
3:50 This reposition makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. There's like 2 extra inches unaccounted for there, and movement is supposed to be measured in straight lines no? You can't just lay out six inches and snake yourself around a piece of terrain. Maybe he took inches from his dash, but then it doesn't look like he'd have enough to make it to control range of the obj, and you can't do a partial dash, repo, then finish your dash. I get allowing the new people to have leeway, I let new players do basically whatever they want, but this seems like it goes against the core rules. Why not just put a model six inches away from a obj in a straight line? This is gonna confuse people.
you dont. but both gaunts and a ranged warrior can be used as npo (non-player operatives) and you can play against yourself or with a friend in a pve style game.
You can try to use an older editions team, but it may be a bit unbalanced so do your best to attempt to scale them to this edition or not just have fun

Which team are you looking at trying first?
Covered all the major stuff, nice!
Call the TO, they changed their rolls on the shooting dice 😂

We're happy to have you!
KT is a truly great game - hope this set brings in more players
tbh I got interested because I can use choose to use the KT in an normal match usually incursion.
@@Granite-ny8up it’s got me in! Picking up my starter set tomorrow!!
I like the fact it is nice and quick. Honestly warhammer, where do these amazing ideas come from
Concise and beginner-friendly explanation. Thanks really appreciate this learn-to play video!
When custodes and tyranid kill teams?
Agreed where are they
We need a tyranid kill team

Deathwatch >>kill team
Kudos- you guys/gals have been killing it pumping up 3e! Thank you for re-igniting our passion for this hobby!
KT is amazing. Thx for supporting this game.
We love the new edition of Kill Team!

*mercy on my wallet
Please give the Deathwatch Veterans their Kill Team back. They're literally named for this game.
Getting my killteam this weekend hopefully
Very helpful

Very helpful for those of us have painted minis, but never played a game!
My thoughts exactly!
Finally, GW gives ous some proper subtitles..
Thanks God Emperer!
I saved this one , my son and I started in 9th , and kill team looked great too .

@@Will-zc8cq it's a general card, as your assembled minis can have different rifles
Yes, it’s the permanent loadout. If you take a look at the bit that tells you what models your Kill Team can have, it’ll explain it a little better.

Looking forward to the updated Adepta Sororitas kill team. I’m just buying models now and getting started!
Welcome to the hobby! The Emperor guide your brush!
I feel like I got into kill team at the perfect time ty for this I have hivestorm box
yw!
WHEN IS THIS COMING TO JAPAN?! I WANT THOSE PLAGUE MARINES
I love it! Keep up the good work!
We need a downloadable and printable token sheet! For those who lost their tokens or purchased old boxes.

You can always split it up with other players and order it that way you get what you want
"that round...or Turning Point as it's known in Kill Team". Crikey, if only you'd opted for an easy to understand terminology.
This has really helped
Would be great if we had chainsword/power sword options for the captain...
Good Video :) a small addendum here tho:

Wheres the grey knights kill team at :o
Good job
So wait, Only 3 defensive dice are ever rolled by the defender when it comes to attacks? If they get 6 attacks I'm still only rolling 3 dice?

I was thinking of giving it a try with the starter box with guardsmen and orks.
So have DG lost disgustingly resilient? Their movement has been increased to 5” over 2 circle (4”)?
Where is the free full rules?😊
NOISE MARINES PLEASE

Can i play kill team with the combat patrol i got ?
Possibly, yes. It depends on what's in your combat patrol, really.
