Because in navy there is no test pilot yeh buss Airforce mein hota hai, Test pilot means jo alag alag jets ko test karte hai to unki technical knowledge like adaptability of aircrafts,(by flying different kinds of aircrafts) , Navy pilots only fly MIG-29(black Panther) to unhe jyada aircrafts ka experience nhi hota and fighter pilot se bhi jyada preference is given to test pilot.

Lol have you seen a navy pilot? 😂😂 their whole skill set is different. They're used to landing on ships. They come down with rather high speed and everything. They're not exactly the most gentle pilots out there and as for astronauts. You'll notice that all of the pilots are from test pilots sectors , that simply means they have experience from a small jet to a large cargo plane . They know the feeling of weigh of the aircraft and what it can take and how much it can take. And in space, its better to have someone with that kind of intuition rather than someone who's goto approach is pre calculated hail Mary 😂

@@SumitYadav-ik2df See any fighter pilot of airforce and navy is not superior or inferior it's about the collective effort to protect our country but as far as space programs is concerned preference is given to well qualified pilot like test pilots because there technical knowledge is required to understand that space stuffs. As far as the Airforce pilots qualifications is concerned, The Navy pilots are also trained under Airforce academy🙂
