Doris was kicked off the Pulitzer Prize board for plagiarizing the work of at least three other authors including Rose Kennedy. She settled out of court with another. So I'll wait for authentication before I rush out and buy the book which she may or may not have written. How soon we forget.

Rex Mundi Nixon created the EPA, opened up relations with China, and ended American involvement in the Vietnam War. The guy managed to get out of misusing campaign money by making a speech about how he used it to buy a damn dog, so I think it's safe to say Nixon was more respected pre-Watergate than Trump will ever be.
He also resigned during his SECOND term, so not exactly a perfect comparison.

It's like there was some truth to that Simpsons episode I just came across, which cast her as as a potentially below-average Mr. Garrison-like teacher who uses "dry macaroni and pipe cleaner" art-and-crafts for a simple lesson about Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus. It's like they had dirt on here to make her guest star to make her look so old-fashioned and out of touch. The Simpsons have long had unsympathetic views of the Kennedys and look at some of the positives of Lincoln losing the Civil War, in contrast to what Harvard Kennedy School-educated Doris has done. They have had a corrupt Ted Kennedy-like Mayor of Springfield and just like in the South Park universe, sent JFK to Hell. Even their remark in the 2019 Halloween about having less Confederate monuments if the South won the war makes me think about whether or not the war-torn CSA could've even afforded to keep slaves if they won the war. So what did they blackmail her with to get her to guest star exactly? When it comes to succeeding LBJ in the art of blackmail, The Simpsons fit that description better than she does, despite the time she spent with him to write that book. At the same time, Simpsons co-producer James L. Brooks, who-unlike the Goodwins- was willing to accept when his marriages were over, was "making it after all" with The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

I see a lot of people joking about moving to Canada if Trump was elected. That would probably be an over-reaction (he isn't going to do anything he says really, and the rest of the things people worry about are based on his comments being taken out of context), but it's actually a good idea anyway. Whilst the USA isn't the most densely populated country in the world, it's still got ten times the number of people as there are in Canada. Yeah, Canada is cold, but there is plenty of room in Canada down south. If Canada had 100 million people, and the USA had about 260 million, that would probably be a better balance. In fact, Australia and New Zealand could do with more people too, so if those each took 30 million, then there would be a much better population spread.
